High Performance Clutch Kit. The Monster Clutch Co. SC Series Ceramic Twin Disc Clutch Kit with Billet Steel Flywheel is engineered to handle up to 1000 RWHP/RWTQ for serious power applications. It offers aggressive engagement with some chatter and a distinct on/off feel, making it suitable for street, drag racing, road race, and drifting where power adders like nitrous, turbochargers, and superchargers are employed.
Construction and Appearance. This clutch kit features a twin disc design utilizing ceramic-based friction discs for enhanced durability and heat resistance. The billet steel flywheel is CNC machined and precision balanced to less than 0.100 oz/in, ensuring reduced rotational mass and reliable performance under demanding conditions.
Installation. Installation requires moderate mechanical skill and is designed for a straightforward replacement using factory GM hydraulics and hardware. Proper break-in is essential to achieve optimal engagement and longevity of the clutch components.
Application. This clutch kit fits the Chevrolet SSR and utilizes GM LT1 pressure plate architecture, offering compatibility with a range of high-performance builds. It supports a variety of modifications, including nitrous, supercharger, turbocharger, stroker engines, and bolt-ons.
