Jake: Jake here for American Muscle. And today, I'm taking a look at the Morimoto XB LED Tail Lights with the Black Housings and Red Lenses for 2016 to 2018 Camaros. Now, the taillights on modern Cameros are pretty iconic. And let's face it, they look pretty good, too. But if you're out there trying to set your car apart, then what better way to do it than with a set of supercar inspired LED tail lights? These are high-quality, all-LED lights that bring a cool dose of exotic car style to your Camaro for a really reasonable price. Now, if you took a look at these and immediately were reminded of the Lamborghini Aventador, well, you'd be spot on. That car's signature tail lights are exactly what inspired this set. Now, not every Lamborghini design Q is gonna work on other cars, but these end up working quite well with the styling of the Camaro given all the angles and creases. The piano trim around the outside edge matches perfectly with the rest of the trim on the Camaro. And they almost look like they could have been a factory option. So these do a lot to modernize and change up the look of your Camaro. And unlike most aftermarket tail lights, these are built to look and behave just like a factory setup. Now, these are full LED lights too. So there's no conventional incandescent bulbs to worry about here whatsoever. Now, these three sections obviously have the red lens, so they're gonna show this way exactly as you see them when they're off, and they're gonna cast a bright red light when you hit your brakes or turn your lights on. And they're set up to go right out of the box. So there's no need for additional resistors or modules to get them to work. Everything you need is already on the back here. Now, you would be again forgiven for thinking these were not a factory option because they really just integrate that well. You also get some cool sequential turn signals. So each of these sections will light up in succession from the inside out. Now, I think sequential turn signals are really cool and they're just very satisfying to watch. There's just something about them that I like. But if that is not your speed, you do have the option to set them to a standard full-on full offsetting. Now, Morimoto's XP series of lights are some of the best ones out there. And that's not just because of the look but mostly because of the way they're put together. Now, as soon as you take these out of the box, you can tell how nicely they're made. The housing is a strong injection molded ABS plastic just like your OEM ones. And the lenses in front are this nice tough polycarbonate. So these are gonna be durable and look good for years to come. And it's gonna avoid having any issues with cracking or fading like some less expensive options. Now, these are also DOT and SAE-approved, meaning they are fully street-legal as well. Now, when it comes to price, that might just be the best part because these are gonna run you right around $525. And believe it or not, for a set of LED taillights for this Gen Camaro, that is about as inexpensive as they come. And that is truly a surprise given what you're getting here. These are OE quality, they're full LEDs, and there are a total plug-and-play install. So if you're looking for a cool upgrade like this, I really don't see how you could go wrong here. Now as for that install, these are gonna get a one out of three on our difficulty meter and you should budget about 30 minutes to get them in. Like I mentioned a moment ago, these are totally plug-and-play, so they already come pre-wired with everything you need. They're sealed up and they're ready to go. So all you have to do is unbolt your stoplights and pop these right in their place. And to show you exactly how to get that done, let's head over to the install bay right now.Man: Tools required for this install include a ratchet, a couple of different sized clip remover tools, and an 8-millimeter socket. What's up, guys? Today we're gonna be installing a set of tail lights on our Camaro. So let's get started. So our first step is gonna be to remove these plastic trim panels on the top of the tail lights. Now we have three push clips here, now I'm gonna get a clip remover tool to remove. So, next, we can come into the trunk right behind our tail light. And we have one tree clip that we'll have to remove. So I'll grab a clip remover tool, pop that out. Now we can pull back on our trunk liner, which will expose our nuts. We have two right up front here and then there's one that's tucked back here in the corner. So now we can grab an 8-millimeter socket to remove our first two nuts. And now, our last one is gonna be tucked behind this bracket. It's a little hard to see. That's gonna be that same 8-millimeter socket. So now, we're just gonna grab the tail light with even pressure and pull it straight back, but don't pull too hard, because we still have our wiring harness to disconnect. And then we can push up on the red tab and then press the black tab to disconnect it. And now, once we have our first tail light removed, we can do that same procedure on the other side. So now, with both of our taillights removed, we can install our new tail light. Now, all the wiring, all the connections are already made for you. So all you have to do is connect this one harness to our body harness. Now, we can make our electrical connection and then slide our posts through the holes in our body. Now, we'll push this red tab down to lock it into place and then we'll line up our holes. So now we can reinstall our 8-millimeter nuts on our posts, tighten those down with an 8-millimeter socket, and then pull our trunk liner back and reinstall our tree clip. So now, we'll reinstall our plastic trim and then reinsert our push clips. And then once we're done with that, we can repeat the same process on the other side.So that'll wrap up this review and install of the Morimoto XB LED Tail Lights with the Black Housing and Red Lens for your 2016 to 2018 Camaro. Thank you for watching, and remember, for all things Camaro, keep it right here at americanmuscle.com.
