Description

The Motive Gear Performance 8.60-Inch Rear Axle Ring and Pinion Gear Kit with a 3.91 Gear Ratio is engineered to provide enhanced torque handling for high horsepower racing and off-road use. This gear set replaces the factory components and offers improved drivetrain strength and durability essential for demanding performance driving.
Construction and Appearance. Manufactured from first-run 8620 steel, treated with a computer-controlled heat process for superior strength, this ring and pinion features 43 teeth on the ring gear with a standard rotation. The pinion gear has 11 teeth and a 32 spline count on a 1.87-inch diameter shaft. The 10-bolt cover design allows for precise and secure installation.
Installation. Installation requires professional experience with axle and differential work. No drilling of the axle housing is necessary, but careful setup with appropriate tools is critical to ensure proper gear alignment and backlash adjustment.
Warranty. This gear kit includes a 2-year or 100,000-mile warranty, reflecting confidence in its durability and performance.
Application. This set is specifically designed for 2010-2015 Camaro SS and Z/28 models, excluding the ZL1 variant, and fits GM’s 8.6-inch IRS axle assemblies.
