Justin: The Street Fire Coils by MSD will be the company's slightly more affordable option for the '05 to '08 three-valve GT owners who might be looking to replace a set of faulty or failing stockers with something aftermarket and something from one of the most trusted names in aftermarket ignition. Now, the MSD options here will come in a set of eight. They will feature this nice gloss black finish, along with a corresponding one-year warranty all for that low $200 price point. Site's gonna call this a solid 1 out of 3 wrenches on the difficulty meter and I would say no more than 30 minutes of your time to swap from start to finish. But if you hang with me for a bit, guys, we'll walk you through this job later in the video. But before we go any further with the Street Fire video, this is a great time to mention something I get asked all the time, and that is, will swapping to an aftermarket coil like this give me a lot of power gains. Well, my answer is frankly, no, it will not. And if it does, it's probably because the coils you are replacing were in really bad shape or malfunctioning and therefore not allowing your 4.6-liter three-valve to perform at peak levels. Now, that's not to say there are no benefits from installing something like this, but I don't wanna stand up here and tell you, guys, that installing something like this is gonna lead to 20, 30 horsepower because, frankly, that will just not be the case. Now what the MSD coils will do is help smooth out your idle and your revs dramatically, barring a good set of plugs, of course, will also help clear up any high RPM misfires and even, in some cases, lead to better fuel economy, again, depending on the starting point of your existing factory coils. Now, in fact, this is a great opportunity to remind you guys to read up on some of the customer-submitted reviews back on the product page at americanmuscle.com, if you haven't done so already, of course, because you're gonna see a lot of what I just mentioned, GT owners talking about much smoother revs and idles, even some of the fuel economy benefits we talked about earlier. So, again, if you haven't done so already, read up on them, a lot of four and five-star reviews on the MSD Street Fire coils. And again, that's gonna be from real-world three-valve owners out there and not just from me, so check those out.But getting back on track here, MSD claims that these benefits will be made possible thanks to a number of things, but mainly the increased voltage output over your stock coils here. In fact, MSD is claiming the Street Fires will produce 32,000 volts to be exact. That's pretty impressive. Now, MSD built these three-valve specific coils using their patented primary and secondary winding internals. You're also getting a magnetic steel core here and finally the factory style design which is just basically gonna make for a very simple plug-and-play swap on any GT at home. Last but not least, guys, they are finished off in this really attractive gloss black finish here with the Street Fire logo on top which is gonna make for a nice little subtle improvement under the hood as well. But what do you say we stop talking about these things? Let's get out to our garage here, show you what it takes to get these installed on your three-valve GT at home. So, without further ado, check out our detailed walkthrough and tool breakdown right now.Man: Tools for this install, a ratchet or electric ratchet, a small extension, and a 7-millimeter socket. First, we're gonna start by undoing the harnesses at the top of each ignition coil, then we could take our 7-millimeter socket and remove each one. Simply press down on the clip to release it from the ignition coil. And do the same with the remaining. Now, with your 7-millimeter socket, undo the bolt in each one. And pull outwards to remove the ignition coil. Now, hang on to your stock hardware because we are gonna be reusing it. To remove the other ones, repeat those steps on the other side. Now, to get your new ones placed in, just follow those steps in reverse. Place your new coil.Secure with the stock hardware. And plug them in.Now, repeat that on the other side. And that's gonna wrap it up for our review and install of the MSD Street Fire ignition coils in black fitting your '05 to '08 Mustang GT. Thanks for watching, guys.
