I'm looking at getting the ford performance hot rod camshafts and they say the stock valve springs are good up to 6800 rpm, how will these springs handle with the ford performance hot rod camshaft?

    Yaxmaster

    • These springs are 93lb seat pressure and will be good in a car that is naturally aspirated. Anything higher than a 12psi boost, you will need to upgrade to 120lb springs.

    • Hi,These Comp Cams Valve Springs Beehive - 24 can not be tuned for, unless they are installed with a new aftermarket camshaft like the Comp Cams Stage I XFI VSR Camshafts Item #30122. Here is the link. http://www.americanmuscle.com/compcams-stage1-vsr-05.html

Will the stock retainers and locks work, or do I need to get matching ones as well

    Daveyboy

    • The stock retainers and locks will not work with Comp Cams Valve Springs Beehive - 24 (05-10 GT). Comp Cams Valve Spring Steel Retainers (05-10 GT) item #30107 (http://www.americanmuscle.com/mustang-spring-retainer-3v.html) are deisgned to work with the valve Com Cams valve springs.

Work as advertised. Installed these prior to installing Comp 127300 cams. Have some patience ready for the install.

      Bang em Down

Much stronger then stock springs. I installed with comp cams VSR stage 1. Seems like they get the job done. I have not red lined to much since instal but I think I hear less valve float in the higher RPM.
