Hey, guys, Adam here with americanmuscle.com, and today we're taking a quick look at and installing the Euro-style tail lights with the clear lens, available for the 2015 and newer Mustangs. You should be checking this out for your own S550 if you're looking to swap out the very traditional rear-end tail light design in favor for the European-style with these Euro tail lights here. The biggest difference here compared to the factory tail lights is instead of the red traditional reflective tail lights in the tri-bars, you're actually going to get it in white here. The technology inside is an LED upgrade. You're going to get a bright, really vibrant tail light when it comes to your brake lights, the tail lights, and the turn signals all together, but the biggest difference is the white finish. So, if you're looking to just differentiate the rear end of your S550, this is a great way to do so without straying too, too far from a factory finish. This is going to come with the gloss black bezel all around, just like your factory tail lights. It still has the stripes on the inside on each one of the tri-bars there, just like the factory one, so it retains that detail and it matches perfectly to the body lines of the vehicle, and it matches that decklid panel as well, just like OEM. Now, the nice thing about this is it's also just a plug-in-play, no splicing, no cutting, no transferring anything over from the factory bulbs. You're just going to plug this guy right into the factory harness. No problems at all. Now, if you're looking for something that has a bit of a stealthier look at the rear end, this one is going to have the clear lens, but the smoked option is out there as well. This is a clear polycarbonate lens with a black interior housing. Definitely has an aggressive look to it. Just super unique with the Euro styling. As you know, the '15 to '17 Mustangs have a straighter tri-bar styling at the rear end tail lights while the '18 and newer Mustangs have the more angular styling. These Euro-style tail lights are closer toward the '15 to '17 style, but it does fit '18 and newer like we have here in the studio. The price tag comes in right around 500 bucks for the pair. The install is going to get one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter, and, of course, you can tackle this in about 30 minutes to an hour from start to finish. I'm going to show you every step of the process. What do you say we get started? Tools used in this install include 1/4-inch ratchet and a 10-millimeter deep socket. All right. First step, we're going to start here on our passenger side. Basically, everything we do over here, you're just going to repeat on the other side. It's basically mirrored. We have to remove this trim panel here. On each side, there are two little twist knobs that we're just going to roll off just like that by hand. One at the top there and one directly underneath of it. Do the same thing on the other side, and we'll just pull this whole thing off. All right. So now we can go by our trunk latch and pull this straight up. You may have to move the trunk liner over just a bit, pull it up and out. All right. Up here on our carpet liner, we have one little push tab. It's a little Christmas tree clip. You can grab a panel removal tool and pop that off, or you can carefully pull back on the carpeting as it wiggles out, just like that and set this guy down. Now we can peel the carpet liner back. All right. There's three 10-millimeter nuts we have to get off. Two of them are right here and another one is in the back behind the trunk carpet liner. Grab a 10 deep socket and your 1/4-inch ratchet and get these two off, and then hit the inside one. Once you crack them loose, you can typically get them off by hand. All right. Now we go back inside. All right. So now we have one more tucked up in here. All right. Now we just have to unplug the light. So now we can come down here and unplug our light. Now we can pull it out. So now from the back, we're going to grab a couple of our tri-bars here, pull it straight back. This grommet is seated in there, so you're just going to peel that off, pull the wiring out, and set it aside. All right. So we got our factory tail light off of our '18 GT behind me, and it's on the table next to our new Euro-style tail light. Let's go through some similarities and differences. And I got to say, in terms of fit and construction, it's going to be all OEM quality. The biggest difference here is the lights being off what color and what finish the inside tri-bars are. Your factory tail lights have that red very reflective traditional finish to them. This has the Euro-style to it. The Euro-style has white tri-bars there. And aside from that, the interior technology is going to be very similar to the factory one. This is going to be extremely bright when it comes to your tail lights and when it comes to your turn signals and hazards. All of that looks almost identical in terms of lighting capabilities. It's just when the lights are off how difference the actual design is there. Now, what I will say is there's a bigger difference between this guy and the 2018 and newer tail lights compared to the '15 to '17 tail lights. As you know, the '18 and newer tail lights for the new Mustang are a lot more angular at the top and bottom of the tri-bars. This has more of the '15 to '17 style where it's a straight line instead of the angular finish, but it still does fit the '18 and newers. So, regardless of what vehicle you have in that generation, '15 to '20, this guy is going to bolt right up. On the backside, you'll see that it's got the same plug-and-play harness, and it's got the rubber grommet inside that wire to make sure it's got that leak-free seal when you install it back into your trunk, just like the OEM light. At this point, we can set our factory light aside and get to work installing this in our truck. All right. For the install, start by grabbing the wire harness and feeding it through that hole. From there, before you seat the tail light in fully, grab the wire harness, and you want to pull it so that the grommets seats into that hole. Once it does that, mount the tail light using the factory mounting holes. There we go. Grab the factory 10-millimeter nuts, and we're going to put them back on each of the new studs. I'm going to start in the back here. I'm just going to grab that 10-millimeter. And, again, you can pretty much thread it all the way down by hand, then grab your socket and tighten it down fully. All right. Now we can do the other two. All right. The only thing left here is to plug it back in. All right. So let's grab this guy. And again, it's plug-and-play, so just snap it into place. Put the liner back. At that point, repeat the exact same process for the other tail light, and then we can put our trim panel back on. Let's put that little Christmas tree clip back on. That's just going to push right back into the hole. For the trim, you're just going to insert that all the way back into the trunk, bring it forward toward you. You want to lift up on the bottom trunk liner and make sure it seats on top of it, and then mount it onto the mounting studs. All right. Grab those little twist knobs and put them back on on both sides. Okay. Repeat that on the other side and you're good to go.That's going to wrap up my review and install for the Euro-style tail lights with the clear lens. It's available for all 2015 and newer Mustangs, and you can get yours right here at americanmuscle.com.
