DOT Approved. This NITTO Extreme Performance NT05R Drag Radial can be run on the street and delivers up to 15,000 miles of tread life in normal street driving. However, this soft and flexible tread will wear much quicker than tread compounds formulated for regular passenger cars.

Maximum Traction on the Track. The NT05R is manufactured with a large center tread block that provides a continuous contact patch with the ground, along with NITTO's new drag specific engineered tire compound to provide excellent dry traction on the street or the strip.

5 Year Warranty. This NITTO Tire comes with a 5-year warranty from the date of purchase. Some limitations do apply. Please see the Full NITTO Warranty disclosure for details.

Suspension drop My Shelby has been drop 1-1/4" will these nittos fit? I have 20x10" rims.

    • Yes these will fit even with your car lowered.

Best tire size for 2006 Mustang GT? I want to run stock suspension and 17 inch rims, without adding or deleting anything from the stock suspension for now, but nothing more than lower control arm upgrades. Stock and custom tuned/CAI power for now, bolt on's later. Drag racing/prepped track in mind.

I have the 2013 track pack wheels would the 305/35r19 tires fit good and look good or will the sidewall be too small?

    • The NITTO Extreme Performance NT05R Drag Radial in a 305/35/19 would look great on that tire and would have a good size side wall. However, ultimately it would be up to you whether or not you like that look.

Will I have any rubbing issues on my 2000 GT? For reference I'll be running a 03 Cobra wheel 17x10.5 AM Wheel. Plan to use these for the strip.

    • We would need to know which size NITTO Extreme Performance NT05R Drag Radial you are inquiring about in order to confirm fitment for your car.

I have a 2015 Mustang GT with Velgen VMB6 wheels 20x10.5(offset 45) and lowering springs with a 1.25" drop. Will the 315/35/20 fit without rubbing? Thanks

    • A 315/35R20 NITTO Extreme Performance NT05R Drag Radial would be a very tight fit with the wheel width and offset you listed, and a 1.25" drop. We have not test fit this particular setup, however based on similar setups, you may experience some rubbing on hard launches, or over bumps.

Would the 305 45r 18 fit under my 06 mustang with eibach sport line 2” rear drop without any rubbing on an 18x10 wheel?

    • The 305/45R18 Nitto NT05R Drag Radial will fit a 2006 Mustang, however, with a 2 inch drop in the rear they will rub.

      Not soft enough

They are more of a hard tire. They dont hook up good. They dont last long at all.

Good tire for all around driving. I bought these cause I didn't want a full blown slick on my street car and they worked out perfect.

      Good tire

The good: Great grip when warm. With a 10.5” wide wheel and 315 tire, I was able to reduce wheel hop on my 2003 Mustang SVT Cobra convertible. Still spin all the way through 3rd gear, but that’s common and not a big deal since the Cobra still gaps most modern exotic cars. The bad: No grip when wet. Wears fast, so more grip when dry. I used a 1/4” spacer for the 03 Cobra’s IRS bolt in the back. Might not be needed, but an insurance policy nonetheless.

      Great tire

Really glad I got these. Im running a mild build 302 with a vortech. I had 315 sumitomo’s before that did not hook at all ! These tires are light years better. I can actually hook up. I’m not saying you can’t spin with these, but they feel great and have good traction for a street car.

      I like em.

Pretty nice tires for the money. First gear is still useless for me in my 2014 GT500 unless i really heat em up. All around awesome tires for the buck.

A Must if you have Gears!

The search for traction is over after purchasing there from AM. Now at the track I can get the power to the ground, that's running 4.56 gears out back.

Review from NITTO Extreme Performance NT05R Drag Radial - 315/35R20 (05-18 All)

The details are not boasting, just trying to give the readers an idea of what I have installed so they can make their desicions on what is working for me... These tires are well worth the money! I had some concerns about possible rubbing due to the size, but there is plenty of clearance with my set up. I have Eibach pro springs and JandM lower control arms, BMR adjustable upper CA and BMR pan hard bar. Running AMR 20x10's with 315's, VMP Gen 2 Stage 2 blower and the traction is great!!!! I was running MT 19" 285's before with a Boss 302 intake set up and a tune and traction was less than desirable, spinning in both 1st and 2nd on hard launches. These tires will spin in 1st with my current set up, but it is manageable. The bulge on these rims is about 1/4" either side, so I cannot say how they will react to hard cornering, but straight line the are AWESOME! I hope this helps people on the fence. I would not drive these tires in the rain, you will hydroplane. They are a little noisy, but the benefits definitely out way the noise. And as always, AM is second to none when it comes to shipping and customer service!

      Sticky nittos

This is my second set of nitto's I've tried numerous other brands on my GT500 that's pushing close to 800 horsepower at the wheels I'd say by far they have the best traction for not getting warmed up first gear will spin some second gear usually grips soon as I hit the gear when I warm them up I can come out of the hall with just chirping when I smash second gear feels like something might break but those tires still hold the road am I going to buy another set of nitto's yes I am

      Nitto Nt05R Drag Radial

Bought tires for obvious use. However, the ride quality is much nicer than the tires on my 18's. Put these radials on and haven't swapped wheels/tires back since. Big helper at the strip and a surprisingly well mannered tire on the street.

275/40/17's on a 375ish HP car hook great when warmed up! Nice and quite on the road and ride surprisingly well. Definitely a help at the track. Street tires don't compare. Good purchase overall!

      Perfect for Mexico

These tires are perfect for your trip to Mexico and have provided some great 60 ft at the track. I can really tell a massive difference between when i have my drag pack on and my regular street tires. The grip these tires provide is INSANE, and even from a roll you can feel the grip. It HOOKS AND BOOKS!

      Traction: Yes

I recently switched to the NT05R from the NT555R. This tire is a big upgrade and provides superior traction over the NT555R and at a decent price. I have launched a few times now on them and I barely spin off the line with my tires at 20psi.
