Description
High-Performance Starter. The Ultra Torque High Speed Starter, 157-Tooth, Chrome provides 25% more cranking RPM at the flywheel than standard starters. It is designed for engines needing higher starting torque, such as blown alcohol engines, ensuring quicker, more reliable starts under demanding conditions.
Construction and Appearance. Equipped with a 3.4 hp motor and finished in chrome, the starter includes a machined billet aluminum adjustable mounting block for durability and precise fitment. It fits various oil pan styles without clearance issues, maintaining a professional appearance.
Installation. This starter fits automatic transmissions with 157 or 164 tooth ring gears and manual transmissions using a 157 tooth ring gear. No drilling is required; however, measuring the starter mounting surface to the ring gear depth is recommended for the best fit.
Application. Designed specifically for the 1979 5.0L Mustang and 1983-1985 5.0L Mustang models, compatible with automatic and manual transmissions featuring the specified ring gear counts.
