    Hey everyone, I'm Justin with This is my breakdown of the Power Stop cross drilled and slotted rotor and pad kit available for all 1994 to 2014 Mustangs. Power Stop is a company that specializes in producing quality braking components for a wide variety of applications, all with the goal of increasing your stopping power for a very affordable price. We have had some recent experience with Power Stop's kit on our 2014 GT project car named Project Coyote, and if you guys want, you can click on that link below. This particular Power Stop kit, as I mentioned earlier, is available for just about every generation Mustang there is, including the newer Brembo cars, and really is a great bang for your buck mod. With this kit, you do get both the front and rear cross drilled and slotted rotors in addition to the brand new ceramic pads for the same price other companies are charging just for the front two rotors alone. Now that you know what's included with the kit, let's break down the individual components a little further. As I mentioned earlier, you do get the front and rear rotors, both of which have been cross drilled and slotted. If you're not aware of the benefits of running a cross drilled and slotted rotor, here's the deal. They will actually prevent a little excess heat from building up, and it also reduces some brake fade after a few repetitive hard stops. The rotors have also been silver zinc coated to help prevent any possible rust or corrosion from building up and to ensure that the rotors themselves remain looking good for years to come. Speaking of looking good, it's hard to deny the fact that a set of cross drilled and slotted rotors just look amazing on any car and add a much more aggressive look to the car itself. Moving on to the pads, the Power Stop kit does include the Evolution carbon ceramic brake pad which will help you in a couple of different ways. For starters, that carbon ceramic compound will allow for higher brake temperatures but with less brake fade, increasing your overall stopping power. In addition, these pads will be a little bit more quiet, and they will also produce less brake dust, helping to keep your wheels a lot cleaner. Installing a new set of brakes and rotors on any Mustang is actually a pretty straightforward job that just about any owner should feel confident in tackling using some basic hand tools and a lift or jack. You have to keep in mind, guys, you are tackling all four corners here, so expect to spend about three hours at least, or a nice Saturday or Sunday afternoon, in the garage to get everything knocked out. You definitely want to follow the manufacturer's recommended vetting process with the new set of pads and rotors to get the optimal performance and wear out of your setup.     Will these rotors rust over time?


    • The rotors included with the Power Stop Z23 Evolution Sport Brake Rotor and Pad Kit will have a silver zinc finish to resist rust, however eventually rust can form. Like all rotors, the pad surface will have any coatings removed by the brake pad over time, and will be able to rust when not used.

    What is the weight of each disc?


    • The front pair are about 16 pounds each, the rears are about 11.

    I'm looking for new brakes and rotors for my 98 V6 convertible. What's the difference (aside from price) between the Z23 and Z26 kits? I can't seem to find a difference other than price.


    • The Z23's have a rubber backing to the pads while the Z26's have a stainless steel backing, allowing for higher heat resistance.

    Stock rims I have the stock 3 spoke 15" rims on my '97 V6. Will i have clearance issues in those stocks rims, or will this kit fit?


    • According to the listing, this kit will work with the stock calibers which also means the stock placement or mounting of the calibers/rotors. Since no change in mounting location is indicated then they should work with your stock 15 inch factory wheel. The main difference in these over a stock system is the design i.e. the cross drilled and slotted rotors instead of the normal flat machine stock braking surface of factory rotors, while retaining the same diameter as your stock rotors. The compound used in the pads themselves which is manufactured with Ceramic materials allows for better heat transfer even though they are effectively the same size as your stock pads.

      Nice Upgrade over Stock

      I love this upgrade over stock. Less brake dust and more stopping power. Installation was easy. I do wish the kit came with more brake grease though. Don't be alarmed by the first bite post install. They grip with force. Take a trip around the block to get them to settle in.

      Stop Here!

      The Z23 Power Stop Evolution Sport Brake Rotors and Brake Pads are a must have. They gave my 98 GT the feel and security that I was hoping to gain. They look like a million bucks as well. I had my mechanic install them and when I picked the car up the first thing he said was that he was most impressed with their quality. I also had him install SS braided lines from American Muscle to complete the project. I feel my money was well spent. I highly recommend the product.

      Look great, but aren't much greater than stock.

      I can honestly say these brakes absolutely look amazing on th car and off the car. Other than looks these brakes pretty much feel the same as stock rotors. The pads are great for noise!! These make zero noise what so ever. The fit of these rotors are spot on as well no problems with fitment issues. What I will say is to take in consideration of rust!!!!! Brake are the easiest job in the world, but rust will be sure to make it the hardest thing you've ever done. My mustang came from Chicago and this was my first time changing the brakes and rotors on this car, needless to say I ran into a lot of rust on the brake parts. I had a problem with the rotors geting rusted together with the hub, as well as caliper bolts breaking and ect. This 1 hour job turned into a weekend job. When change these out just take into consideration the condition of your parts to evaluate how much time you'll need to swap them out. Also, don't be fooled if these don't brake really well initially, the do require a process to break them in to mate the pads and rotors properly. If you don't follow their process on the provided instructions you'll find yourself stopping worse than before.

      Work & look great.

      I recently bought 18 x 10 chrome cobra r wheels from American Muscle and installed them on my 95 Gt. They look great but you could really see the roters. So I ordered the drilled and slotted roters and pads. They look and work great.

      Power Stop Brake Kit

      Installed on my '97 3.8 Mustang- Excellent quality. Fit was perfect. Performance is perfect. Not alot of dust created. No rust on rotors now for many months. Great OEM replacement. Don't forget to flush brake fluid with Motorcraft High Performance DOT 3 fluid.

      Significant difference from stock

      Installed on my car just for the peace of mind if I need to stop. Notices the difference immediately. Paired with new braided break lines. Pedal is firmer and the slotted/drilled look gives a sharp presentation.
