Review & Install Video

Hey everyone, I'm Justin with americanmuscle.com. This is my breakdown of the Power Stop cross drilled and slotted rotor and pad kit available for all 1994 to 2014 Mustangs. Power Stop is a company that specializes in producing quality braking components for a wide variety of applications, all with the goal of increasing your stopping power for a very affordable price. We have had some recent experience with Power Stop's kit on our 2014 GT project car named Project Coyote, and if you guys want, you can click on that link below. You can check out all of our project car builds and also subscribe to our YouTube channel while you're there to check out more in depth detailed product overviews. This particular Power Stop kit, as I mentioned earlier, is available for just about every generation Mustang there is, including the newer Brembo cars, and really is a great bang for your buck mod. With this kit, you do get both the front and rear cross drilled and slotted rotors in addition to the brand new ceramic pads for the same price other companies are charging just for the front two rotors alone. Now that you know what's included with the kit, let's break down the individual components a little further. As I mentioned earlier, you do get the front and rear rotors, both of which have been cross drilled and slotted. If you're not aware of the benefits of running a cross drilled and slotted rotor, here's the deal. They will actually prevent a little excess heat from building up, and it also reduces some brake fade after a few repetitive hard stops. The rotors have also been silver zinc coated to help prevent any possible rust or corrosion from building up and to ensure that the rotors themselves remain looking good for years to come. Speaking of looking good, it's hard to deny the fact that a set of cross drilled and slotted rotors just look amazing on any car and add a much more aggressive look to the car itself. In fact, don't take my word for it. You can always click on the link below to check out the customer submitted images and reviews of these rotors on our very own customer pages. That way, you get a good look at what these rotors might look like on your very own Mustang. Again, click on the link below to check out the products page, if you're not there already. Moving on to the pads, the Power Stop kit does include the Evolution carbon ceramic brake pad which will help you in a couple of different ways. For starters, that carbon ceramic compound will allow for higher brake temperatures but with less brake fade, increasing your overall stopping power. In addition, these pads will be a little bit more quiet, and they will also produce less brake dust, helping to keep your wheels a lot cleaner. Installing a new set of brakes and rotors on any Mustang is actually a pretty straightforward job that just about any owner should feel confident in tackling using some basic hand tools and a lift or jack. You have to keep in mind, guys, you are tackling all four corners here, so expect to spend about three hours at least, or a nice Saturday or Sunday afternoon, in the garage to get everything knocked out. You definitely want to follow the manufacturer's recommended vetting process with the new set of pads and rotors to get the optimal performance and wear out of your setup. If you need more info about this, you can always check out the product page, or do not hesitate to get in touch with one of our award winning customer service agents by phone or by email. If you're looking to upgrade the brakes on your '94 and newer Mustang for a very affordable price, well then you have to check out the Power Stop kit available right here at americanmuscle.com.

More Stopping Power. Improve the stopping performance of your 94-04 Mustang with the addition of Power Stop Evolution Cross-Drilled and Slotted Front Rotors. Power Stop makes upgrading components of your brake system easy by practicing precise machining and casting of their brake rotors. All of Power Stop's Rotors have been mill balanced for a perfect fit and to reduce the chance of any unwanted NVH.

Cross-Drilled and Slotted Rotors. Power Stop Rotors offer you dual benefits. The drilled holes allow for up to 180 degrees of cooling over stock under hard braking and slots, which create a clear contact patch between your pad and rotor and are designed to sweep away gas and dust. Power Stop Rotors are crafted from the finest blanks on the market and feature G3000 grade castings that have been silver zinc plated to resist rust.

Application. This front pair of Power Stop Evolution Cross-Drilled & Slotted Brake Rotors are specifically designed for use on 1994-2004 GT and V6 Mustangs.

    They're okay at best

The only noticeable difference I felt was braking in the wet, other than that they're not very much better than the stock brakes I had for my GT. I daily drive it so I've put the car through its paces for high speed highway stopping, the usual city stop and go ... and really not that impressed...I paired them up with the Hawk HP ceramic pads .. I guess you get what you pay for, really not THAT impressed. They look good though!

    look great but...

they look great, dont rust, but biggest issue is brake fade. if youre going 100mph, and scrub off 50mph, the rotors will start to fade. do that a few times, and it could be pretty bad. For daily driving, they work great. but thats where that stops. not for the track, take it from me.

    Bang for buck

Most if not all manufacture will charge you double the amount for the pair and you'll still be getting a set of stock rotors. So for 114.99 for a pair of rotors, that's nice. plus drilled and slotted. Im no expert I have not done any conclusive testing from stock to these but I'm pretty happy on my choice for the price. Thanks American muscle always helping in every price category.

    Cross drilled rotors

I did the install on these and it was very easy and straightforward...the rotors fit great and all I had to do was take the old rotors off and torque them to spec...and I was good to go...the only problem I had was that the rotors had to break in...they made a rubbing noise at first, but after that they were perfect! #greatrotors

does what they're supposed to do

These rotors do exactly what you want them to do, stop your car; and it does it safely. They have a pretty good bite on the brakes, and they look good behind a set of aftermarket wheels.

High Quality Brakes and Brake Pads

My old brake pads and rotors were getting pretty worn, so I came across these and thought I would try them out. They far exceeded my expectations. If you're on the fence, buy them. You won't be disappointed.

    What a difference!!

Wow what a difference. Light pedal I didn't notice much of a change but medium to full will slow you down quick. Much quicker than the stock pads and rotors. No noticeable fade and they look beautiful inside a set of custom wheels. Thanks AM

    Great for the money

These rotors are obviously designed for those unfortunate of us without the deep pockets to fund our modding dreams. Still, considering the small price difference between these and stock, they're definitely worth it. They look amazing on my own Stang with the Black FR500 wheels I also picked up from American Muscle, and once you follow the manufacturers bed-in procedure, the difference in stopping power is going to be noticeable if your driving is more on the aggressive side.

    Good investment.

Originally bought the kit with all 4 rotors and pads. Then a caliper decided to seize up on me, piston stayed pressed and warped the entire front driver side rotor. Ordered these bad boys and put them on in an afternoon. If you ask me, they're well worth the price. I've gotten alot of compliments on them and they look great with chrome rims.
