    Review & Install Video

Hey, Stephanie with AmericanMuscle.com taking a closer look at Power Stop's Z26 Street Warrior cross-drilled front and rear brake rotor and ceramic pad kit, available for '94 to 2014 Mustangs. Power Stop is a company that produces quality braking components with the goal of giving you increased stopping power for an affordable price. We've had some experience with Power Stop's brake package for the newer Mustang on our 2014 project car build, Project Coyote. And you can check out that build by clicking on the project cars and video tab on the home page of the website. While you're there, check out some of our other project car builds along with exciting Mustang news, and of course, more in depth product overviews. The Power Stop Z26 Street Warrior kit, as I mentioned earlier, is available for just about all '94 to 2014 Mustangs including the '11 to '14 Brembo equipped cars. Now this is a really cost effective kit, especially when you consider what you're getting. The Power Stop includes the front and rear cross drilled and slotted rotors, in addition to the brand new carbon fiber infused ceramic pads for all four corners. American Muscle also sells all of these same components individually as well, so you can pick up what you need without purchasing the entire kit if need be. Now that you guys know what's included, let's break down the components a little further starting with the rotors. Now as I mentioned earlier, you're getting two front and two rear rotors with the kit. And as you can see, they're both drilled and slotted. Having a drilled and slotted rotor like this will be beneficial because it will reduce the heat in your brakes that may lead to excessive brake feed after a few repetitive hard stops. The rotors have bevel drill holes to keep temps down during use, as well as rounded slots to help maintain a clear contact patch for the pad and the rotor. The rotors have also been silver zinc plated to help prevent any possible rust or corrosion, ensuring that the rotors will look good for years to come. And speaking of looking good, performance benefits aside, a set of drill and slotted rotors look killer. And they do add a more aggressive look to your Mustang, especially if you have a wheel design like the MMD 551C. Or a set of AMRs. Or Bullitts, for instance, where you can really see a lot of the rotor. In fact, you can head back to the site if you're not there already, to check out some customer- submitted reviews and images of this Power Stop kit installed on a wide variety of Mustangs. As for the pads, the Power Stop kit utilizes a carbon fiber infused ceramic pad, which will help you in a couple of different ways. For starters, the ceramic compound will increase the overall stopping power by allowing the pads to handle higher brake temperatures with less heat fade. The ceramic compound in this pad will also be quiet and produce less dust when compared to other materials, keeping your wheels cleaner in the process. As for the install, you'll need some basic hand tools along with a jack or a lift. Since you're tackling all four corners, it might take you a few hours, about three or so, to get the job done. The kit also includes all the necessary hardware making the install that much easier. One very important step. Whenever installing a new set of rotors and pads, it is very important to follow the manufacturer's bleeding process and braking procedures just to get the optimal performance and wear from your new setup. If you're looking for brakes that will keep up with your performance base driving at a very affordable price, then be sure to check out a Power Stop Z26 brake rotor and ceramic pad kit for your '94 to 2014 Mustang, available here at AmericanMuscle.com.

Ok so on the video it says 94-14 mustangs, but on here it only says 05-10? so whats the difference between the 11-14 Z26 and 05-10 Z26 brake kit? I am on in need of replacing my rotors and pads but want to upgrade and be cost effective as well.

        • The big difference for the 11-14V6 cars are the brake rotors are bigger than the 2005-10 V6 brakes. The 11-14 V6 cars use the same brakes as the 05-10 GT cars.

            Really good brakes!

I just upgraded from the stock OEM brakes and they seem pretty good. Followed the break in procedure (5 drops from 40mph-10mph then 4 drops from 35mph-5mph, then drive for at least 5 minutes and let them cool without stopping), it worked as described (a little burning smell). Now they are working properly and I have no complaints. I know these will start to make noises from the metal pieces on the pads losing their grease and all that, which is very annoying. But so far they’re great. Took me longer to install than normal to install (4pm-12am, 8 hours) because I cleaned everything everything thoroughly. I want to say better than OEM but my old brakes were toasted and were super bad. These are way better than the situation I had before, I can say that.

            good for the money

street driving, the feel slightly better than stock, but under any sort of hard braking, or track braking, they are very stable and work really well.

            Amazing

It was my first time doing rotors and changing brake pads and it took my 2 hours just learning how to replace and hoe things functioning. My car stops smoother and respond faster love it alot.

            Worth the money!

Bought this set up for my lightly moded 2010 V6. I already had upgraded brake pads since like last year but wasn't satisfied with my cars break peeformance. Immediate noticeable difference. The mechanic didn't pass on any complaints from the install They look much better than the stock rotors. Cost me $100 per axle for professional install. When you baby the brakes its hard to appreciate the difference but once you apply decent pressure you can feel the stopping power.

            Bang for your buck

Amazing product! I've only had them on for 5 days now but they are so much better than stock. I am able to stop quicker and much smoother than before. Only problem with installation was that for the rear you require a special tool due to the e-brake but once we got the tool is was very easy to finish installation. The look of the rotors give the car a more aggressive look and really like that. I received them in 3 days which I thought was very quick and they were packaged very tight and had no scratches or dents.
