Balances Exhaust Gases. The Pypes Catted X-Pipe is excellent when it comes to balancing out the gas pressures in your exhaust system. This Pypes x-pipe creates more power and torque than a traditional H-pipe. Why? Because the exiting exhaust pulses are merged at the "X", resulting in less exhaust back pressure for more power.

Race Car Growl. This free flowing Pypes x-pipe for the 2005 to 2010 GT's not only increases power, but it also adds a raspy, race car growl to the sound of your exhaust with its modern "X" crossover pipe design.

Modular Construction. Pypes unique three piece modular construction makes it quick and easy to add or remove catalytic converters to your exhaust system in just minutes, depending on your driving needs.

Durable Stainless Steel Construction. Pypes uses sturdy 16 gauge 409 stainless steel mandrel bent 2.5" tubing for improved exhaust flow and features welded reinforcement plates for additional strength. The included High flow catalytic converters far out perform the restrictive stock cats to provide a significant increase in horsepower and torque.

Application. This Pypes Catted X-pipe is designed as a direct bolt-on for the 2005 to 2010 4.6L GT Mustangs with either aftermarket short tube headers or the stock manifolds and a dual catback exhaust installed.

    • The Pypes Catted X-Pipe is not CARB legal but for further questions regarding the legality in your state we would suggest that you do contact your local state ordinances to verify.

Thinking about buying this. I have pypes bomb axlebacks already. With this combo make my car sound significantly louder and does it drone ? Is it worth buying and will it make it louder

    Justin

    • The Pypes Catted X-Pipe will add a significant amount of volume over a stock mid-pipe. If you have any other questions or concerns feel free to call or chat in.

      Could be better

First off says catted but you have to cut the pipes to fit them. Had to drill out the bolt holes to get the flanges to mount to the manifold properly because of the studs design and if you unclip the one O2 sensor it will reach. Lot of work without a lift but the sound is worthy.

      Welding+

This mod requires a little patience and a hack saw. I installed it myself, but the exhaust leaked around 1 of the clamps. I quickly noticed that the leak was due to the Pypes engineering. I took the car up to the exhaust shop and had them weld the cats on. After that everything was fine. Pypes really needs to considering offering a complete welded kit, rather than a modular one.

      easy

This is a great system it went on very easy in my driveway. Stock exhaust came off better then i would have thought(maybe because car has 5000 miles on it)sounds great and can tell it was good for more power thanks for a great x pipe at a great price

      Simple and easy to install

Took me about 3 hours to pull my old exhaust off and install the catted x-pipe. Good thing I have a lift at my house! Sounds is what I expected. My only complaint is that after installing it and driving around for about a month, one of the clamps broke and started to rattle. So just had to go and get a replacement.

      Easy install

I recieved my Pypes Catted X -Pipe well packaged and ready to go. It took me about 4 hours to install this included cutting down pipe for cats as well as hanging the rest of the exhaust. The only issue I have is my car didnt have the stock hangers for the X pipe on the transmission cross member so I have to order some. But the note I have now and the increased power is well worth the couple hours it took to install. This product came with all parts and very good instruction so even if you have never worked with exhaust you will have no problem installing Pypes X-Pipe.

      Poor Fitment

I forgot to mention that the threaded bung on one of the cats had to be tapped for the O2 sensor to fit, and the pipe clamps were the wrong size for this system according to the mechanic who specializes in installing exhaust systems.

      Mods needed to work

I had a muffler shop install this (thank God). The forward ends of the mid pipe had to be cut for everything to fit and the O2 sensor "T" box had to be moved aft and a custom clamp fabricated for that in order for the sensors to reach. The studs on the stock manifold had to be replaced due to fitment issues as well. After all this I have a very aggressive sounding exhaust on my 2010 GT. (I have SS Violators on too)

      Finally

I've had the Pypes Pype Bombs for a while and I thought they sounded good, but these make my car sound amazing. My best friend rolled her windows down just so she could hear my car. The only thing is that my check engine livht keeps coming on so I'm going to have to buy some spacers for my o2 sensors. Now I'm just waiting on my headers to get here now :)
