Upgrade To A True Dual Exhaust. Now you can easily upgrade your V6 Pony to a true dual exhaust with a Pypes Off-Road X-Pipe. Just install this Pypes X-pipe along with the 1999-2004 GT catback of your choice, to give your Mustang the impressive looks and sound of a GT.

Balances Exhaust Gases. This Pypes off road x-pipe balances out the gas pressures in your exhaust system to create more power and torque than a traditional H-pipe. Why? Because the exiting exhaust pulses are merged at the "X", resulting in less exhaust back pressure for more power.

Durable Stainless Steel Construction. Pypes uses sturdy 16 gauge 409 stainless steel mandrel bent 2.5" tubing for improved flow and features welded reinforcement plates for additional strength.

Application. This Pypes Off-Road X-Pipe is designed for use on a 1999-2004 V6 Mustangs in combination with an aftermarket or factory dual 1999-2004 GT catback exhaust system. Intended for off-road track use only.

Can you add Cats to this? I want to get an Off-Road X-pipes for my mustang but it need to be able to go through inspection in 2yrs. So i was wondering if i put these on by the time i need to go through inspection i can put some cats on it until it passes and then ill take them off. Or would i have to buy the Catted X-pipes for the inspection?

    Javier

    • The catted x pipe would be cheaper in the long run.

I wanted to use this with the BBK 1-5/8 in. Chrome Shorty Headers And an SLP loudmouth system I was wondering it would all bolt together

    BrandonM

This might have been answered but for some reason I cant load questions so I'll just ask. If I have stock headers on a v6 and get this x pipe can I install a Pypes Pype-Bomb Cat-Back Exhaust with this x pipe?

    NathanS

Is the Outside diameter 2.5” or is 2.5” the inside diameter of the pipe?

Beware this is a cat delete kit

This exhaust will make your car illegal to drive on the street by deleting your catalytic converters. If this isn't what you intended to do then don't make the same mistake I did. I'm sure these pipes are wonderful for their intended use but I wasn't as informed on the situation as I should have been before I placed my order. Good luck!

      Decent

I had to cut it to fit, even without cats and it sits a little lower than the stock pipes, sounds a little raspy from inside the car at high RPMs but sounds pretty good from outside the car. Would also be nice if it came with o2 extenders. Even at an extra cost, but overall, I'm happy.

      Pypes off road x

Most definitely noticed a changed when I put the x pipe on and converted to dual exhaust. It really sounds good with a set off mufflers of your choice but not straight pipe in my opinion lol. I chose the super 44.

      Perfect fit even for V6

The installation was piece of cake. I ordered the PYPES cat-back dual pipe bomb GT exhaust system for my 2001 V6 and it bolted right up to the x-pipe. Just had to order the brackets that was recommended on the American Muscle website by PYPES, a pair of MIL eliminators, a pair of O2 sensor extenders and Boom! I have an amazing sounding V6. Just got to get a few more bolt on’s, a tune and I’m in business.

      Nice

The x pipe bolted right in. Only thing is you need o2 extenders to get the rear o2s to plug in.

      X Pipe

I love this xpipe. Only problem I've had so far is it hangs pretty low on the "downpipe" portion. Even at stock height every once and a while Id hit speedbumps. Other than that I didnt run into any problems with the install. Sounds great with a set of magnaflow comp series mufflers and paired with a CAI, you get a slight boost in power.

      Great product

I installed this off road x pipe along with the pypes pipe-bomb cat back exhaust sounds very good. You will need the mil eliminators to pass inspection or add a tune on the car.

      Pretty good product

Got the part in the mail right on when it was supposed to be here, opened the box and everything looked really good! Turns out though I didn't get 2 of the collectors, just one. Not a big deal, i didn't end up using them anyways, however when i went to put the part on my car, the passenger side down pipe did not fit. The holes were drilled too close together so i ended up having to drill it out correctly myself. All in all a good product and not a hassle at all.

      Speechless.

First off, American Muscle is fantastic. Their shipping is always fast and their customer service is astounding. Now, on to the Pypes. The price? Great. The fit? Perfect. The function? Even better. My first words when I started it up were as follows - "Oh. My. God." I won't mince words, it's loud. I wish I could post a video here to prove it. I fired it up without the mufflers hooked up just for fun and it sounds like a NASCAR. Seriously, my boss has a CJ-7 with a 304 V8 with side pipes and my Mustang is now louder than that. If you're chasing a V8 sound for your Mustang, this is the way to go. For the install I would definitely leave everything loose and move it around a bit, then tighten it down when you've got it in the right spot.

V6 stock headers. But not V6 Y pipe!!

Okay so these pipes bolt on no problem to my headers on my 1999 V6 but it wouldn't fit with my factory V6 Y pipe. My mechanic told me it would only bolt on to the catback from a GT since it's a true dual style. But running with just the offroad pipes sounds great. Feels like I'm driving an F1 cobra except.. its not!

      Great for the price

Im running just this with no cat back and the sound is pretty awesome at anything above 1700. Has a very deep annoying resonance inside the car at idle and under 1700. Noticable torque loss at low rpm but also noticable hp gain at higher rpm. Thing i dislike the most is the pipes hang much lower than stock. They scrape on any angled driveway

      Amazing X-Pipe system!!

I had X-Pipe exhaust installed in my 2000 Mustang V6 and wow... speechless! I had them along with a Flowmaster Cat-Back and it sounds great. Installing the X-Pipe eliminates the cats and it doesn't just make it louder and sound better, but it gives it a noticeable amount of power, I am very impressed. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an upgrade on their exhaust. The price is worth it, I am very happy with this exhaust system!

      Off road x

Installed this on my 02 mustang and I already had flowmaster duals with the h-pace setter. The car has a very pleasing growl to it cruising at 1500 rpm and it hits that sweet spot right at 3000. After that it is when it gets really raspy and almost sounds a little ricey to be honest. Or I might not have it bolted together 100 flush with the catback. Probably going to order some cats to tone down the rasp, but other than that great sound and noticeable performance increase.
