- How to Install Radiator Extension Covers on your 2005-2009 Mustang GT and V6

Hey, I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, here with a great accent piece to the engine bay in any S197 Mustang, thanks to these OE style radiator cover extensions fitting all 05-09 Mustangs. As you’re probably well aware, the factory rad cover in your S197 covers just the radiator itself, and doesn’t extend all the way to the fenders, like the 2010 and newer covers do, which can leave an unfinished appearance. That’s where these extensions come in. These OE style extensions extend the factory rad cover all the way down to the fenders which covers up all that dead space over the headlights, basically making for a much cleaner appearance underneath the hood. The extensions are molded from a high impact plastic for superior durability, and a factory like fit and finish. As for the install, this is honestly as easy as it gets. If you follow the included instructions and use the two included bolts, you should have no problem getting this job done in about 15 minutes. If you’re looking for a small part that can go a long way in cleaning up your engine bay, then be sure to check out these OE style radiator cover extensions available right here at AmericanMuscle.com

I had to jerry-rig these to fit correctly, they only come with one mounting point. Also, they are not the same texture as the OEM cover in the center.Helpful (0)

'06 GT radiator extension..
Much heavier duty then the ones I bought for my '05 from Jegs. BUT... the second mounting hole is no where close to where it should have been drilled above the headlight mounting bolt. Currently using double sided tape on a new product that I really dont want to screw up. American Muscle you need to have Speedform fix this issue...Helpful (0)

Helped finish off under look
These are simple add on items that look like they could have been installed by Ford. I only used the passenger side though. I have the Ford Racing larger mass air sensor/air intake system. I fits up over where the left/drivers side would be. Both items can not be used at same time.Helpful (0)
I would like to buy these for my 07 mustang but it will not let me choose this year. Why is that?
We currently only have these SpeedForm Radiator Extension Covers available in Dark Highland Green, which was not available in 2005-2007. If your 07 is Dark Highland Green, you can purchase the units listed under 2008 or 2009 as they covers are the same shape.
I noticed only 2008/2009, should these not fit the 05-09 S197's ? I'd like to buy a pair if they fit up with the center radiator pre-painted cover.... thx in advance !
The SpeedForm Radiator Extension Covers are listing 2008 and 2009 only, as these are currently only available in the Dark Highland Green color offered only in those years.
anyone else have problems with these sitting flush over the headlights? i have raxiom DRL and these covers fit fine where the 10mm bolt is but rise up as you get closer to the outside edge of the headlights.
Does this come with a hood prop rod hole cover?
This will come with the hole yes.
Do they come with out the hood prop rod hole? I have already upgraded to hood lift supports.
These SpeedForm Radiator Extension Covers will come with 4 bolt holes.
The extension covers are designed to fit 05-09 GT and V6 models only. Unfortunately they will not fit a GT500.
At this time we would not offer this part pre-painted.
At this time we do not offer the SpeedForm Radiator Extension Covers in UA Black.
We can only recommend the SpeedForm Radiator Extension Covers - Unpainted to be used with 05-09 GT and V6's
These SpeedForm Radiator Extension Covers and the painted version, item 41228, are made of the same plastic material and they can be painted. https://www.americanmuscle.com/painted-radiator-cover.html
The SpeedForm Radiator Extension Covers are not compatible with the GT500 Front Fascia conversion.
We do not currently carry the covers in other color options at this time. We have not received any update regarding this item coming back into inventory however we are always adding new products so we would recommend checking back in every once in a while.
These covers will have 4 bolt holes.
The Radiator Extension Covers - Unpainted (05-09 GT, V6) will not have clearance issues with headlight covers.
if you have a supercharger probably not without mods. if you have just the cai you should be alright. check pictures that are provided under parts , you might get a better idea about fitment. good luck , pappy
