    Street or Strip. The RAM HDX Clutch kit is designed for stock Mustangs with bolt-on mods and mild power enhancements this clutch is great for the street or strip. If you're replacing your clutch, it is also a good idea to replace or resurface your flywheel at the same time to prolong the life of your new clutch.

    Superior Design. The RAM HDX pressure plate features increased clamp loads and 200 Series organic clutch disc. The 200 series consists of heavy duty organic facing material that greatly increases rotational strength and an eight spring center hub for excellent shock absorption.

    Required Upgrades. To properly install this RAM HDX Clutch on your V6 Mustang you will be required to use either a RAM Billet Steel Flywheel (RAM 1545) or Billet Aluminum Flywheel (RAM 2545). You will also require a Pressure Plate Bolt and Dowel Kit and a Flywheel Bolt Kit. See options listed above.

    Application. The RAM HDX Clutch kits are the performance upgrade for your daily driven Mustang. The HDX Mustang Clutch is designed for the 2011-2014 V6 Mustangs with the MT-82 transmission.

    It's recommended that you add an SR Performance Braided Stainless Steel Hydraulic Clutch Line during your new clutch install. Stock plastic clutch lines can fail during aggressive driving. Stainless steel clutch lines help prevent gear lockout and provide superior clutch pedal feel, even under the toughest conditions.

        What throwout bearing can I use with this along with the Ram Billet Aluminum flywheel? According to your own person on the phone, the Exedy is only used on the Exedy clutch. Is this true? The Ram throwout bearing is prohibitively expensive compared to the Exedy. Will these work together?

        • The RAM HDX Clutch can be used with a stock, or stock style throwout bearing. The Exedy Hydraulic Throwout Bearing is compatible with the Ram clutch as well.

        Which bolts do I use for 2011v6 mustang

        Is it POSSIBLE to use the stock flywheel with this clutch, or will it just not install?

        • The RAM HDX Clutch can use thestock flywheel but it is highly recommended to upgrade the flywheel when a clutch is done so the wear is even on both discs.

        What is the round spacer used for that comes with the clutch kit?

        • The RAM HDX Clutch comes with a clutch disc, the alignment key, and a pressure plate. The pressure plate is bolted to the engine flywheel and its main purpose is to exert pressure up against the clutch plate, holding the plate tight against the flywheel, and letting the power to flow from the engine to the transmission.

            Works but not ideal

            Last year I installed this clutch with a RAM billet steel flywheel, 5.0 flywheel bolts, dowel pin and pressure plate bolt kit, and exedy salve cylinder. Clutch worked fine when car was cold, the usual amount of trans rattle as expected with a single mass swap (2k rpm or below under load). However if you sit in any traffic or drive the car for more than say 50 mins the clutch starts to fail to dis-engage and getting into 1st from a stop or WOT shifting is a pipe dream, forget about it. This is one of the big reasons i even changed the clutch as the stock one still worked but the dual mass had failed on me resulting in a vibration. So definitely would not recommend. Also i have an MGW race spec shifter, SS clutch line, new master cylinder bench bled so its not anything else.

            Great Clutch

            My OEM clutch was just starting to slip under heavy load in 3rd gear and so I decided to replace with something more powerful to accomodate my bolt ons and handle more HP and torque in the future. When purchasing this make sure to buy with the flywheel bolts and dowel kit listed in the description. (Its a little annoying you have to put in fake info about your car to buy on AM). As noted in the last reviews the housing is not painted red as shown in the description picture. Engagement feels fine without any additional spacer. I purchased with aluminuim flywheel which does make some chatter but since I always play music while driving I don’t hear it too often. This is already a great clutch and only going to get better after it fully breaks in.

            Noisy in 3rd

            Got this clutch with the steel flywheel because it was advertised as chatter free. It is decent in all the gears but 3rd, where it is quite annoying. Everything else is fine with it.

            Great Street Clutch

            I installed this ram hdx clutch in my 14 3.7 with full bolt ons and a bama 93 tune along with the ram aluminum flywheel. Make sure to buy the dowel pins, 4.6 hardware, pilot and throw out bearings. Ram includes a spacer but I reccomend installing an additional .156 spacer unless you want a really high engagement point. As mentioned in the earlier review my pressure plate was not red like in the picture. Overall its a huge improvement over oem dual mass flywheel and clutch. The aluminum flywheel tends to chatter at stock idle but this was corrected by raising idle to 900rpm. Car now launches much better and shifts are much improved over oem parts. Would reccomed this to anyone who wants a beefier clutch but still daily drivable.

            Not the same as the picture or description

            description says it comes with a alignment key but it doesnt. the picture shows a red pressure plate but the one that came in was bare metal. the picture also shows a different clutch disc than what came in. i will be installing this tomorrow morning and im hoping that they didnt end up sending me the wrong product but at the moment it seems that they did although the part number on the box is correct.
