Hey, what's going on guys? Adam here with americanmuscle.com. Today, I'm bringing you a detailed overview of the Raxiom Tail Light Conversion Trim, fitting all '10 to '12 Mustangs. So, the Raxiom Tail Light Conversion Trim I have with me today is gonna be for the '10-to-'12 Mustang owner out there who's already converted their taillights to the '13-'14 styling and wants to get rid of that ugly gap between the bottom of the taillights and the top of the rear bumper. Now with that said, this trim will get that job done and make it look complete, like a later S197 model. So, it's been pretty popular to convert your '10-to-'12 taillights into your '13-'14 styling, but it leaves a little bit to be desired. Now, because of the two different stylings of the two different years, the '10 to '12 to '13-'14 taillight styling leaves a pretty noticeable gap between the bottom of the taillights and the top of the bumper. Now up until recently, you only had two options, now you either had to live with the gap if you already made the switch, or you had to purchase the Raxiom kit that came complete with the taillights and the trim for about 1,600 bucks. Now, if you've already purchased the taillights elsewhere, I doubt you really want to spend $1,600 on the full kit just to fill that gap. Luckily, Raxiom stepped up to the plate and released a Raxiom Tail Light Conversion Trim from the actual kit separately, just for the guys out there who picked up the taillights elsewhere and need to fill that gap without picking up the all-inclusive kit. So the Raxiom Tail Light Conversion Trim was manufactured out of a durable, injection-molded ABS plastic, all completed in a polished, gloss-black finish to match the finish of the '13-'14 taillights. Now, they were also backed with pre-applied 3M automotive bonding tape to make the installation extremely straightforward, which I'll touch on in just a minute. So price-wise, for the kit that you're seeing on the table with me today, you can expect to be spending just about 75 bucks, which in all honesty is a little bit high, but you want to take into consideration, if you did swap over the taillights without getting the all-inclusive kit from Raxiom, this is definitely gonna be a must to fill that eyesore of a gap between the taillights and the bumper, and it will make your backend look like it came from the '13-'14 from the factory. Now, jumping right on into the installation for the taillight trim, all you'll have to do is pop open your trunk and push the trunk liner out of the way, unbolt one of your taillights, and pull it just far enough out of the vehicle to apply that trim. Clean off the area you'll be applying it to, peel off the 3M tape backing, and stick it into place. Repeat that process for the opposite side and reinstall the taillights back into place the same way you took them out. Overall, about a half-hour's worth of time in the driveway at home and a very simple one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter. Just to wrap things up, guys, if you're the owner of a '10 to '12 Mustang and you've already converted your taillights to the '13-'14 styling, and you're looking for an easy way to fill the gap between your taillights and your bumper, you might want to check out the Raxiom Tail Light Conversion Trim, which is of course available right here at americanmuscle.com.

When attaching these to the bottom of the tail light, do you push them all the way in until it hits the notch or do you try to adjust them to make them level with the bottom edge of the tail light?

I have a stock 2010 Gt I was wondering if I bought the raxium tail light conversion trim would it make it look like the rear lights of a 2013/14 gt or do I actually have to buy the raxium lights for 1600?

  • The Raxiom Tail Light Conversion Trim is actually a filler piece that fills a gap between the tail lights and bumper when you install the 2013/2014 Tail Lights on a 2010-2012 Mustangs. In order to complete the look of a 2013/2014 Mustang, you would need this trim piece and the 2013/2014 Tail Lights

A great final touch for conversion.

Item works and looks great. Note: If you use the tail light trim as I did it is a little harder to fit. You have to put it on after the new tail light and trim are installed. Still an awesome product.

    Super Easy

East to install with a near perfect fit. It is a bit flimsy where it narrows down in the corner area of the tail light. This is why I gave it a 4 out of 5.

    Gets the job done

Nice product, install was easy just takes patients as the trim should have alignment tabs to help hold it in place, once you pull off the tape and stick the trim in place you can reposition it if you be very careful not to press down real hard to adhere the tape, the other thing is it should come with a clear protecting film that can be removed after installing on the car because the trim can be easily scratched just by handling ,witch I had to polish them out after installing the lights on the car, and lastly I saw this issue on other reviews about this product, the outside edge of the trim is very thin and does not have any 3M tape on the back side to hold it from sticking out about 1/8" so after I installed them I went back and put a strip of 3M tape on the edge and it worked great and looks a lot better witch it should have came with the 3M tape there from the start, over all the product does it's job and looks good but I would like to see a better fitting piece in the future mainly because the price of the 13/14 taillights are not cheep and people go through the trouble to get them and then buy the trim that's not cheep to install the lights and it does not fit perfect and needs a modification to hold in the outside edge, once again it is a nice looking product and gets the job done,i hope this helps to one day make a better product in the future and help other customers with the install. YES I RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO OTHER CUSTOMERS AS IT IS NOT A BAD PRODUCT AND THERE ARE NO OTHER OPTIONS OUT YET !!!!!!

    Trim for tail lights

The trim look good and matches the black of the tail lights. It's a good way to make the 12 to 13 tail light look good with out changing the rear bumper.

Raxiom tail light trim on black 2012

This really does complete the conversion of adding 2013-14 tail lights to your 2010-2012 mustang. The gloss black matches my factory paint perfectly. A lot better than spending hundreds of dollars on a new bumper and then having to spend more money to have it painted. Took no time at all to put on after the tail lights were out (which is an easy task too). This is definitely a necessity if switching to 2013 tail lights.

Great idea but more options are needed...

First off, don't get me wrong in this review. This product is a fantastic idea. I have two problems with them. The first is that they don't fit properly with MMD 13-14 tail light trim. The only way you can install them with the tail light trim is to have the top edge over the bottom of the trim. This leaves a gap at the bottom of the conversion trim and the top of the rear bumper which defeats the purpose. My other problem is that it only comes in gloss black to match the tail lights. If say MMD matte black was available to match the tail light trim, and also fit with the trim covers instlled, I'd be in line to buy that!

    Completes the looks

I like the contour of the 2010-12 bumper but hated the taillights. Very happy with how this trim piece makes the rear end look. Easy install, just make sure it is on correctly before pressing too hard on the adhesive lol

    Tail light trim

The product seems well made. Easy to install. Makes the 13-14 tail light conversion seamless on a 10-12 mustang. Just needs a little more adhesive on the end.
