      Description

      Control your Control Arm Flex. J&M's control arms increase straight-line traction and improve cornering performance. Their exclusive design allows your lower arms to articulate during cornering but stay stiff under acceleration.

      Better than Stock. Handling characteristics like wheel hop, rear end instability, or even snap oversteer can be the result of the OEM control arm design. Get rid of it with these arms.

      Better than the Competition. These arms feature a steel inner ball surrounded by polyurethane outer cups. The result is great traction during straight-line acceleration and predictable grip during hard cornering. And unlike other arms, they don't put stress on your torque box.

      Quality. J&M's arms are made of rugged 1 1/4" threaded bungs and adjuster. Manufactured from round tubing, they're lighter, stronger, and more resilient to bending and torsion compared to rectangular or square tubing. With custom made pinion snubbers, these upper control arms are the perfect suspension upgrade.

        Spherical Skeptic But....

        After reading reviews for days about rear lower control arms, I really wanted to believe that these could give the best of both bushing worlds (spherical and traditional styled poly) without the drawbacks of each. But would they perform over the course of time, in the real world, with the high demands of my right foot on the skinny pedal? Yes. Yes, they do. I've put about 2500 street miles on these in short order and they're still performing exactly as described and when initially installed. I'm buying the JandM rear poly-spherical UPPER control arms next.

        5 1994 Cobra - Ryan Installation Time: Shop Install Installation Cost: $100-$250

        NO MORE HOPS!!!

        These are heavy duty compared to stock LCAs. Rear feels so much more solid and traction improvement going over hills at higher speed has also improved. Biggest plus is NO MORE WHEEL HOPS! You will need some beef installing these to get it aligned with the mounting holes.

        4 1998 GT - EenSte Installation Time: Afternoon

        Well made

        After I noticed my lower control arm bushings were shot, and was unable to find stock rubber replacements, it seemed these were the next best option. I decided that the uniqueness of three piece poly ball bushing was either the result of brilliant, forward-thinking engineering, or a dumb idea no other company would bother with, and for the price and my purposes, it didn't matter which. I didn't notice a drastic difference in...anything, really. My car is just a daily-driver though, so I can't say if there are improvements in handling at the car's limits. It does feel a little more solid and planted, and I feel much better about my car's capabilities. Install was easy, though I would have appreciated some instructions from the manufacturer; install is pretty straightforward, but without instructions things could get hairy for less experienced mechanics. Make sure to jack up the diff near the driveshaft, otherwise it tilts in a way that makes the control arms appear too short. They appear to be sturdily constructed, and best of all (for me), don't add any noise or harshness to the ride.

        Fit great easy install. Used these to replace another pair of cheap aftermarket arms that came on the car when I got the car. A much better arm.

        5 1996 Cobra - JJames Installation Time: Shop Install

        1996 Cobra J&M Lower Control Arms

        I decided to go with J&M Lower control arms because they were recommended by a friend and also had very good ratings. I had them conveniently shipped free to work where I had my good friends install them. After the installation I took my Cobra for a test drive and it was like night and day! It has better traction, no body roll and zero tire hop. I did some hard turns and it rode like it was on rails. My car feels athletic and I can take some serious turns, what a difference! The quality and construction compared to the stock ones is like night and day! I highly recommend them!

        5 1998 Cobra - Northstar68 Installation Time: Afternoon

        J&M 'Street Performance' Lower Control Arms 1998 Cobra

        I installed these during a suspension rebuild, and impressed with the fit, finish, clean welds and noticeable performance improvements. The key to these arms is the 3-peice 'poly-ball' bushings, as this really helps reduce the inherent 4-link bind with the 79-04 SLA, yet really firms things up with respect to deflection during launch and cornering. I plan on installing the J&M upper control arms in the near future to compliment the lowers. Great 'bang for the buck' part...highly recommend!
