Deletes Factory Prop Rod. It's hard to believe that Ford equipped their 2005-2014 S197 Mustangs with an old school prop rod. But now you can scrap that prop rod and add a sleek under hood appearance with modern convenience to your powerful Pony by installing a RedLine Tuning QuickLIFT ELITE Hood System.

Slow Release System. RedLine Tuning QuickLIFT ELITE Hood Struts use powerful custom-valved gas springs that feature a progressive release system. In the final few inches of operation the struts slow the rate of extension allowing for a smooth, fluid lifting process.

Complete Kit. The QuickLIFT ELITE system includes two 316L stainless steel progressive-rate gas springs that will lift and hold your Mustangs hood securely in place. The kit also includes black powder-coated brackets with ball-stud end fittings and the necessary mounting hardware required for installation.

Factory or Aftermarket Hood. The QuickLIFT ELITE System is available for both factory or aftermarket hoods. Installation of the factory kit utilizes pre-existing holes on the underside of the stock hood, so no drilling is required. Where the aftermarket kit will require drilling into the underside of the hood and attaching the mounting brackets with the supplied pop-rivets.

Application. This RedLine Tuning Hood QuickLIFT ELITE System is designed to fit all 2005 to 2014 Mustangs, including the V6, GT, Bullitt, Boss and Shelby GT500 models. Available for factory or aftermarket hoods - Please select from options above.

    Ask a Question

What's the difference between the Quick Lift Elite and the Quick Lift Plus hood strut kits? I want to use a set on my Cervinis Hood.

    Stringtheory

    • The difference between the Elite and the Plus series is the Elite is 316 Stainless steel , while the Plus is Black . Both models show they are available for either style hood .

What is the best hood struts you offer for aftermarket hoods? Also what is the difference from the aftermarket hood and factory hood options? My aftermarket hood bolted right up the the factory bolt holes so wasn't sure why there are two options. Maybe the weight of the hood difference?

    S

    • The RedLine Tuning Hood QuickLIFT ELITE System are the best hood struts we have for aftermarket hoods. The reasoning for the difference between stock and aftermarket hoods is twofold. First, aftermarket hoods are typically made of fiberglass and actually weigh more than the OEM hood, which is made of aluminum. Second, Fiberglass hoods require a difference in valving, as flexing can cause cracks, which is not an issue with aluminum hoods.

What if I currently have the stock hood but plan to buy an aftermarket hood over the summer? I would like to be able to mount the new hood without having to get another setup for the hood struts. Is there a way to order the kit with both options? Also would this kit work with any aftermarket hood? If it does I know others in my club would probably update their cars to this kit. Don't know how many times at shows that hoods slam with there slightest breeze.

    • You could select the aftermarket hood option for your factory hood as well. Though, you may need to do some minor drilling in order to install them. The aftermarket option will work with both factory and aftermarket hoods.

      Better than the competition

So far, this seems to be a good quality product. The installation was very simple and the parts fit perfect. The gas springs are two-stage meaning they lift the hood pretty fast and then slow way down for the last inch or so of travel. The gas spring bodies are stainless steel and look great. I first wasted money on the Ford Racing kit. It's junk - a terrible product with big ugly hood brackets that require re-routing the windshield washer hose and also the fender brackets don't fit right. I'm very happy with this Redline kit.

      Sharp looking and great functionality

Bought these after purchasing an other brand that did not install very well and raised the hood when closed. These went in much better and work great with no hood alignment issues. I would definitely recommend them.

      Easy, Attractive, Functional

Took about 15 minutes to install and lifts the hood on it's own. Slows down at the top so it doesn't slam when it opens. Works great.

Great product and a Simple Mod

The Redline Hood Quick Lift system in a Great product that is simple to install. The hood struts and brackets are made to bolt on with just a few hand tools and look to be built to last. The install took 15 - 30 minutes; half of that time was reading the Instruction Sheet provided with the parts. The chrome hood struts look Awesome when the hood is opened. I am very Satisfied with this product. So, Ditch that hood prop rod and install a set of the Redline Tuning Hood Quick Lift Elite System hood struts!

      Should be factory

10 minutes to install and looks terrific. Ford should have made these a stock item on mustangs.

      So far really like them

I installed these and they are working a lot better than the other brand I had. Went on in about 15 minute with no issues. The only thing i can see is I have to take my battery cover and brake cover off and make some slight modifications to them in order to use them again. But than is not an issues. As I was thinking about painting them anyway

Easier install that I even thought it would be.

I had purchased a different brand from American Muscle a few years ago that never held the hood up well and was a clunky design and install was challenging and had an extra bracket. These however work great, hold the hood correctly and the install could not have been easier. They look great, should be factory.

      Very nice product

Very nice product. Looks good and functions well. It was a very easy installation. I opted to tape backs of washers so they didn't scratch the paint. No unbolting hood hinges or drilling. They more than have enough power to raise the hood. They are on the pricey side for what they are but look cool.

      A no brainer

I have purchased a set of these Hood Quicklifts for my 08 GT500 and my 14 GT Premium convertible. These lifts should have been standard equipment from the factory. They are easy to install, requiring no drilling and just take a few minutes for installation. They are of high quality and certainly eliminate the need for the factory arm prop. They do enhance the under-hood look of both Mustangs. I highly recommend these hood lifts to be the first under-hood upgrade for any Mustang.

      Hood Shcoks

The RedLine Hood shocks were very easy to install, they only took about 30 minutes at most. They are a much easier install as you do not have to remove the hood bolts as you do with other styles. Worth the extra $$

      Redline Hood Quicklift Elite

These hood struts installed easily on my 2011 GT500 factory aluminum hood. These should have come on the car from Ford because the factory hood stand is a joke. These hood struts are a very nice touch to all my other modifications. I love how these struts lift the hood fast then slow down just before they reach full extension, you just pop the hood from under the dash then reach under the hood to release the safety latch and then the hood opens itself and stays opened very securely. Well worth the money, I would definitely am happy with my purchase.

      RedLine Struts

The old struts would not work on my new Cobra-R fiberglass hood so I bought the Reline struts. They work very well on the heavier hood and they look great. Installation was very easy.
