Deletes Factory Prop Rod. It's hard to believe that Ford equipped their 2005-2014 S197 Mustangs with an old school prop rod. But now you can scrap that prop rod and add a sleek under hood appearance with modern convenience to your powerful Pony by installing a RedLine Tuning QuickLIFT ELITE Hood System.

Slow Release System. RedLine Tuning QuickLIFT ELITE Hood Struts use powerful custom-valved gas springs that feature a progressive release system. In the final few inches of operation the struts slow the rate of extension allowing for a smooth, fluid lifting process.

Complete Kit. The QuickLIFT ELITE system includes two 316L stainless steel progressive-rate gas springs that will lift and hold your Mustangs hood securely in place. The kit also includes black powder-coated brackets with ball-stud end fittings and the necessary mounting hardware required for installation.

Factory or Aftermarket Hood. The QuickLIFT ELITE System is available for both factory or aftermarket hoods. Installation of the factory kit utilizes pre-existing holes on the underside of the stock hood, so no drilling is required. Where the aftermarket kit will require drilling into the underside of the hood and attaching the mounting brackets with the supplied pop-rivets.

Application. This RedLine Tuning Hood QuickLIFT ELITE System is designed to fit all 2005 to 2014 Mustangs, including the V6, GT, Bullitt, Boss and Shelby GT500 models. Available for factory or aftermarket hoods - Please select from options above.

What's the difference between the Quick Lift Elite and the Quick Lift Plus hood strut kits? I want to use a set on my Cervinis Hood.

Stringtheory

  • The difference between the Elite and the Plus series is the Elite is 316 Stainless steel , while the Plus is Black . Both models show they are available for either style hood .

What is the best hood struts you offer for aftermarket hoods? Also what is the difference from the aftermarket hood and factory hood options? My aftermarket hood bolted right up the the factory bolt holes so wasn't sure why there are two options. Maybe the weight of the hood difference?

S

  • The RedLine Tuning Hood QuickLIFT ELITE System are the best hood struts we have for aftermarket hoods. The reasoning for the difference between stock and aftermarket hoods is twofold. First, aftermarket hoods are typically made of fiberglass and actually weigh more than the OEM hood, which is made of aluminum. Second, Fiberglass hoods require a difference in valving, as flexing can cause cracks, which is not an issue with aluminum hoods.

What if I currently have the stock hood but plan to buy an aftermarket hood over the summer? I would like to be able to mount the new hood without having to get another setup for the hood struts. Is there a way to order the kit with both options? Also would this kit work with any aftermarket hood? If it does I know others in my club would probably update their cars to this kit. Don't know how many times at shows that hoods slam with there slightest breeze.

  • You could select the aftermarket hood option for your factory hood as well. Though, you may need to do some minor drilling in order to install them. The aftermarket option will work with both factory and aftermarket hoods.

    Pure Awesomeness!

I got got my redline hood shocks in and it took no more than 15 minutes to install. Really simple no drilling and looks are great. What i love about them is you bever have to touch your factory brackets thus adding even more hold up strenght. I got the chrome ones and they are beautiful against my black stang. Should have boyght these as soon as i boyght the car but so happy that American Muscle is a step ahead bringing to us the newest things and parts to hit the market. I have bought about 10 items from them and its inly the beginning. Happy owner of a 2013 black GT.

    Buy these!

I usually never write reviews BUT these lifts are awesome in every way! Simple 10 minute install and man they look classy....no goofy extra long brackets on your hood....they are what Ford should've shipped every Mustang with! Buy them seriously you'll be glad .... Actually thrilled you did every single time you open that hood! The SS look "sharp" and very classy! Definitely you'll get your moneys worth! Wrap the fender bolts with painters tape if you don't wanna scratch factory paint from your socket FYI....

    Instalation difficulty

I'm really handy with tools but I found tightening the nut attaching the strut to the hood to be difficult to tighten while keeping it from turning inside the hood. A simple lock washer or washer inside the hood that has bite to it would solve this problem. Once I got them tightened they seem to work well. I think this product could be better engineered on how they attach to the hood.

    THE lift for fiberglass hoods

When I installed a new fiberglass hood, the other design lifts were no longer capable of holding the hood up. I would away from whatever it was that I was working on, and the hood would SLAM, and I'm kinda jumpy. The other design was fine for the stock hood. The RedLine struts are powerful, but more out there in the open. Not necessarily a bad thing, because the stainless finish is like eye candy, to me.

    Great product great service!!!

I tried other style bolt on hood struts and the fiberglass hood would move around a lot at car shows so much that I was afraid to leave it open on windy days. The Redline struts fit perfectly and support the hood a million times better! Definitely worth every cent! Very easy install.

    Great Product!

The installation was super easy! I liked that no modifications to the car were required. Each "shock" used an existing fender bolt and a hole already in the stock hood. Once installed the opening and closing of the hood worked perfectly. I highly recommend this kit. Rich V..., South Carolina

    Ditch the Hood prop rod.

Very simple to install and just a couple of tools you need, just follow the instruction. What I liked about this hood shock over the others is that you do not have to unbolt the hood to install. They use existing hole in hood to install the upper mounting bracket and finder bolts for bottom bracket. Took under an hour and make sure that you line up shock decal to the outside to show off the brand.
