Hey, guys. Stephanie with AmericanMuscle.com, here with the Redline Tuning Hood Quicklift Plus System for 2015 and up GT, Ecoboost, and V6 Mustangs. The Redline Tuning Hood Quicklift Plus System's gonna be a good option for anyone looking to delete the factory prop rod and clean up the engine bay. These have black, e-coated finishes, so they'll look nice on any car, and they're a simple product that makes a big difference under the hood. These are gonna create a cleaner appearance overall and they have much nicer look than the factory prop rod does. These are gonna be a good mod for those of you that show your car and that need that clean look but they're also a good mod for those of you out there that work under the hood a lot. I have a set of hood struts in my fox body and it's much easier to work under the hood when there isn't a hood prop in the way. So not only do these look good, they also have some good use as well. Redline offers two sets of Quicklift systems and they do have different prices. The difference is gonna be in the finish. So these ones are e-coated black and the other ones, the Elite System, have a stainless steel finish. They have the same features, just a little bit of a different look. So speaking of features, the hood struts are valved gas springs that have a progressive release system, so your hood isn't gonna just fly up or down. They have a controlled lift and the struts do slow as they get to the top of the lift to make things more progressive. And the mounting brackets are stainless steel. As far as price, you can expect to spend about $100 for this kit, and if you'd like to spring for the Elite kit, that's about $30 more. This is a complete kit, so you get the two struts, the fender brackets with the red inserts, the hood brackets, a plastic drill guide, and the drill bit as well to make things easier for you. So I mentioned drilling. Yes, you will need a drill for the install, but it's still a straight-forward install. These install using pre-existing holes in the top of the fenders and on the underside of the stock hood, so you don't have to drill into metal. You will need to drill a small hole in the plastic battery cover, but you do get a template and the drill bit, so it's not too bad. You can expect to spend an hour on the install and I'm going to call this a solid one on the difficulty meter. You do have to drill, but it's nothing big, and you are drilling into plastic, so really anyone can handle it. You need a 13 millimeter deep socket, an electric drill, and a center punch for the install and that's about it. You start by removing the top hinge bolt on the passenger side of the car so you can pull the bracket over the upper hinge bolt and then move to the left side of the car. The bracket installs the same way on this side. Next you'll need to position the plastic guide to mark the center of the hole for the battery cover with the punch that you have or you could just use the template to drill. If you follow the book, once the hole is marked, you're ready for drilling. It would be safest to take the battery cover off to drill, but we left it on and completed the install just fine. After that, you can install the fender brackets and then the hood struts. They just snap into place with the hood spring housing side facing the hood and the extension side on the fender. Wrapping things up here, the Redline Tuning Hood Quicklift Plus System offers two gas hood struts to replace the factory hood prop. The kit comes complete with everything that you'll need for the install, which is very easy and simple with no modifications required except for a small hole in the battery cover.
