  • Better 60 Ft Times
  • Eliminates Wheel Hop
  • Heavy Gauge Square Steel Tubing
  • Sold as a Set of Two
  • Fits 99-04 Mustangs
Faster Launches. Improve your 60 foot times and get better, straighter, faster launches with a pair of J&M rear lower control arms. By replacing your factory control arms with a set of J&M's arms, you'll eliminate suspension flex that causes "wheel hop" when you're accelerating or braking.

Better Handling. Your stock control arm bushings can bind when you're cornering, causing sudden changes in handling. J&M's unique 3-part bushings rotate freely to keep your Mustang's suspension planted even around hairpin turns.

Industry Leading Design. Unlike other designs that use single piece polyurethane bushings, J&M's patented 3 part bearings offer the best for both straight-line performance and handling. The exclusive design of these lower control arms features a steel inner ball surrounded by polyurethane outer cups. The result is great traction during straight-line acceleration, and bind-free performance during spirited cornering for predictable grip.

Made to Last. The J&M rear lower control arms are made from lightweight round tubing for maximum strength and finished with a black powdercoat for durability and good looks.

Application. These J&M rear lower control arms are sold as a pair and are made to fit your 1999-2004 Mustang perfectly.

Ask a Question

I purchased upper and lower arms , look very good , should I consider installing grease zerks - or is the opinion of j m that a one time grease application will suffice for the many miles I will ask of this product.

  • I would recommend installing Grease zerks just in case you would ever need more grease in the bushings. The grease in them however will last a very long time.

Do you need to press these bushings? do you need to press these bushings using a hydraulic press?

  • No, only stock bushings with the metal shells need a press.

Do i reuse the factory bolts? if not what size do i buy?

  • With the installation of the J&M Rear Lower Control Arms (99-04 GT, V6, Mach 1) you will reuse the factory hardware.

    lower arms

thankfully, the instructions on the website had all the answers i needed when installing the upper and lower control arms on my car. i have to say they have made a huge improvement in the way my car takes turns. its almost like buying a piece of mind, knowing that my car is a bit more stable in the rear now. i would highly recommend them to anyone that is feeling the need for more stability in either their track or daily driving.

    Amazing Control Arms

Holy S#!T, those were my words after a launch with these control arms installed on my 97 Vortech SC Cobra, running small 245s wide stock tires, these control arms made them hook. I just felt my car sit down and move forward fast without burning out. Ride Quality also improved great. These control arms are awesome.

    Great Product

I have these on my 01 Bullitt and they made a tremendous difference with wheel hop. The launches are much more stable and these are available for a great price. Very nice and their poly design is very good.

I'm not much of a track guy but the stock bushings were gone in my stock control arms. I installed these lowers and went from a 14.2 with Exhaust and CAI to a 13.8 on a 275-35-18 street tire on Saleen rims.

Speechless Improvements! Should come factory installed!

Very big improvement over the stock lower control arms! The bushings in the stock arms are so soft allowing the rear end to literally move side to side. I used to be all over the place while launching (squirrely), not any more! Improved my launches big time! Even the gf noticed the car was much straighter during launches and accelerating. I was blown away by the improvement from these J&M LCA's and wish I didn't wait as long as I did to purchase these. Buy these and don't look back!

    Don't ignore your rear suspension!

I see lots of Mustang guys wasting money on bolt ons when they're overlooking the fact that the Mustang's weak point is the rear suspension. Me and two friends installed these in a driveway over 2 days. Honestly, it would of taken an hour at most, but I had a few bolts that made the job slow down to a crawl. One had to be cut, and the other was in the frame making it hard to bang out. Once it was on though it got rid of my wheelhop 100% as well as allowing me to delete the quad shocks for saved weight. I used to have trouble making my 315s kick out in second gear, but now I can feel that the rear end is 100% more solid than it was with the stock lower control arms. It also launches way nicer. I totally recommend these LCA's as one of your first mods.

    really strong luanches

I bought these thinking they would tighten up my rear end in the corners cause I love to take turns and do a lot of road course racing. well these arms are great. they make the launches harder then I've ever felt before. the only thing is when you go to take a sharp turn with some speed behind it the arms flex and makes the rear end feel like it's not even part of the car. It feels like the rear end is kinda like a trailer. these arms I would say are mostly for drag racing straights. I think its mostly due to the ball joint style bushings. I still recommend these arms. Great improvement over stock. just don't take the turns to hard.

    Great buy

Definetly has made an improvement to my launching at the track. When accelerating out of corners I am more confident with regards to the rear end holding the road. The ride quality improved too.

I had my LCAs installed by a local ma and pa shop, cost $130. I noticed the difference immediately. I took the onramp onto the 401 (freeway) kicked it down and felt tight. 0-60 felt like a kick in the butt, just strong forward movement. One of the best purchases so far!!!!!!!!!!!

    Big improvement over stock!

The only problem I had was that the bolts in the rear axle were rusted in. Lots of WD-40 and a big hammer and the rest of the install went as planned. I haven't tried it out at the track yet but the rear of the car feels more stable.

    Good buy

These control arms are lighter than the factory control arms, reducing the unsprung weight, and really helped out the 60ft time. These control arms are really ment for drag racing and straight line applications, or as a replacement for the factory control arms. The bushings that come with these are not intended for autocross or intense lateral handling.

    Great product!

It's been about a week since I've installed these JandM lower control arms, so far great feeling of stability in the car. The only downside is with the poly bushings that were is an incremental amount of more noise going over the bumps, and RR crossings which was expected but deemed it would be good to mention in the review. Install was easy, (even though my help didn't show) I've done this swap before on other mustangs, but not my own. These arms are beefy, well constructed and even though they were my second choice over Maximum Motorsports, I'm really impressed with my choice.

I added these and now the car just moves forward. When I got on the pedal you could always feel the wheel hop but no more. When I hit the 100 shot the car responds very well. Subframes arr next!

Best Upgrade for your Rear Suspension!

My Mustang is 04 Convertible GT. Only Upgrades I have are the BAMA Custom Tunes and this new Lower Control Arm. The difference in grip is amazing! You keep more power to the floor without loosing it by spinning out! This is part is definitely recommended as one of your first upgrades!

    huge difference

The bolts rusted up inside the bushings on my stock LCA's making the installation of my lowering springs impossible. I decided to torch off my old LCA's and buy these. Out of all my suspension mods this has been the best one by far. The rear end bites like hell even after lowering and it feels 100x tighter now. Before these i ran a 14.05 and now i'm consistently getting 13.8-13.9's. Also during the install try not to get that grease everywhere because it takes forever to get off
