This RTR rear spoiler is the same spoiler that comes from the factory on the RTR Mustang. It's similar to a ducktail-style spoil, so it's going to be a good option for those of you out there that are looking either for a little bit of that unique RTR styling, or for those of you out there that are looking for a flush-mounted spoiler that's more the middle of the pack when it comes to being aggressive. The MMD V Series and the CDC Outlaw are similar spoilers, but they're a little too extreme for some. So if you're looking for something a little less than those, but more than the factory spoiler or some of those toned-down options, the RTR here might be for you. This spoiler reuses the holes that are left by the factory Fastback spoiler, so there'll be no drilling involved or holes to fill if you have a Fastback with a spoiler. The install for this spoiler is easy, even if you're looking at having to drill. I'm going to call it a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. You can expect to spend an hour on the install. The first thing that I wanted to talk about here is the materials. This spoiler is made from ABS, which is different than what we're typically used to seeing from the RTR rear spoiler. In the past, the RTR rear spoiler has been aluminum with a powder-coated finish. The new version here is made from ABS plastic with a matte black finish, and that actually gives a more consistent finish with absolutely no issues. This spoiler was designed as a direct replacement for Mustangs that came with the factory spoiler. It'll reuse the holes that are left by the stock spoiler. But in the case of the S550s without the stock spoiler or the convertible models, you will need to drill two holes in the decklid to install this. The holes in the factory decklid of the convertible models for the factory spoiler are different, and they're not going to line up with this spoiler. As far as styling goes, this spoiler sits right on top of the decklid, and it extends upwards. You'll see that it comes down and covers the decklid some, and then extends over the sides to cover the edges of the car. The spoiler's finish is not raw-looking at all. But if you wanted to, you could always paint this very easily, but most just leave it matte black. This does install with two nuts and some double-sided tape. When it comes to price, you can expect to pay about $400 for this spoiler. That's pretty similar to what you'd be paying for any other unpainted spoiler. There are a few spoilers that cost less, but they're a little more tame styling-wise. Roush offers this spoiler for less as well, and so does RK Sport and SpeedForm. The install for the spoiler is easy, even if you are looking at having to drill. I'm going to call it a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. You can expect to spend an hour on the install. If you have a factory spoiler, the most difficult part would be removing the adhesive on the decklid from the factory spoiler. You need a ratchet and a 10-millimeter socket, and a drill and drill bits if you're looking at having to drill. There are two rubber grommets that will need to be removed in the bottom of the decklid. If you need to drill, you need to use the drilling template, and mark and drill your two holes. If you have a stock spoiler, you need to unbolt it and remove it.Keep in mind that it is installed with adhesive tape as well, so it might take a few minutes to get under this and remove the spoiler. Either way, stock spoiler or not, you need to clean the surface of the decklid, so the double-sided tape can bond well. Use the provided alcohol prep pads. I'd recommend test-fitting the spoiler first, then use the adhesion promoter. Place the spoiler on the car, and use pressure on the tape surfaces. After that, you're just looking at tightening the supplied nuts and reinstalling the rubber grommets. Wrapping things up here with the RTR rear spoiler, this spoiler fits all 2015 and newer S550s. Perfect for 2019 Mustang EcoBoost
This fits perfectly in place of the stock spoiler. Re-uses two of the holes and completely covers the other holes. The hardest part of the install is removing the stock spoiler. NOTE: On the 2019 Ecoboost fastback the stock spoiler has 4 bolts. It took about 1 hour to remove the old spoiler and 15 minutes to put the new spoiler on.Helpful (0)

Great look, good price
Provides a really tasteful look and some aggression in the back end. Really easy install took about 20 mins after the test fit to make sure everything was lined up properly even with the drilling you have to do. Just don't lose the nut and you'll be fine!Helpful (0)

This is the worst piece I have ever bought for my car. Its full of mould marks, stress marks and rough edges. Theirs no way this can go on a car without refinishing it. Its not smooth and just a piece of regular plastic. Do not recommend, I cant believe it has so many high reviewsHelpful (4)

RTR rear spoiler
The install was short and sweet. The template given was spot on. Only thing I would change is for the template to be pre cut to save a few minutes.Helpful (3)
I have a 16 California Special, will this cover up the holes left from the stock Cali wing?
This spoiler will cover up any holes left from the CS/GT spoiler.
Would this spoiler cover up holes drilled into the truck for spoilers like any gt350 style spoilers? example: SpeedForm GT350R Style Spoiler
This will cover any holes that were drilled to accommodate the SpeedForm GT350R Style Spoiler.
Can the bolts be removed so the spoiler can be installed using only the 3m adhesive tape?
Proper installation of the RTR Rear Spoiler requires the use of the bolts as well as the 3M tape. Without the bolts, it would not be entirely secured to the vehicle.
I plan on ordering a 202 Gt Convertible in early Jan.. They delete any spoiler when ordering a convertible.. Will this fit without hitting the antenna that they use on convertibles?
This fits convertible models just fine. The only thing worth mentioning relative to convertibles any are convertible models equipped with a factory wing will not be able to reuse the factory holes, drilling will still be required for installation.
Will this fit a 2018 GT convertible with factory blade wing already installed?
The convertible models that are equipped with the factory wing will not be able to reuse the factory holes. Drilling will be required for the installation.
This spoiler will fit 2018 models, and sit flush as it should.
The RTR Rear Spoiler only utilizes 2 of the original spoiler studs. However, because the outside of the spoiler is secured with 3M Automotive tape, water and moisture is unable to penetrate the surface to those two open holes.
From my understanding, the rtr spoiler will ship with an unpainted matte black finish. The spoiler can definitely be painted to match the color of your vehicle. We recommend having a paint/body shop prep and paint the spoiler.
You will most likely need to drill holes in order for installation, we do have an install guide for further review for you here as well: https://www.americanmuscle.com/rtr-rear-spoiler-1517-cust-install.html
Yes, this spoiler will fit all 2015 to 2018 Mustangs without any issues.
Yes, this spoiler will fit both fastback and convertible models.
This spoiler will not allow water to seep into the trunk as long as the spoiler is installed properly using the holes from the factory spoiler.
This RTR Rear Spoiler can be wrapped however the difficulty would depend on experience applying vinyl.
The RTR Rear Spoiler (15-18 All) is designed to be a direct replacement for Mustangs that came equipped with a factory spoiler and will reuse the holes left by the factory fastback wing.
The RTR Rear Spoiler will reuse holes left by factory fastback wing.
