Race Ready. When you're shopping for a flywheel for your Mustang GT, a SPEC Billet Aluminum flywheel is pounds lighter than your stock flywheel, meaning less rotational mass and less time and effort to get your flywheel moving when you romp on it at the starting line. The result? Your peak horsepower is delivered faster with lightning-fast throttle response and class-winning quick shifts.

Premium Quality. When you're adding a new flywheel to your Mustang GT, you want a premium quality part that will deliver both performance and durability. SPEC Billet Aluminum Flywheels are machined to a .001 tolerance (other brands are only made to .01) and designed and weighted for the perfect balance and surface to complement your new clutch.

Protects Your Investment. When replacing your clutch you have two options: resurfacing your flywheel, or getting a new flywheel. Most times, getting a new flywheel is better than resurfacing, as the flywheel will dictate how well your clutch will perform, as well as how long it will last.

Rebuildable. A cheaper flywheel won't stay that way - SPEC's aluminum flywheels have a replaceable steel friction plate which makes this flywheel rebuildable. And this flywheel surface is also made from a special type of steel specifically designed to help your new clutch "bed in" properly and to promote superior grip - so this might just be the last flywheel you ever have to buy.

SFI Certified. If you're using this flywheel in high performance or racing applications, SFI Certification is critical so you can run your Pony at the track or strip. And it's great for peace of mind even in a daily driver - at higher RPMs, stock cast flywheels have been known to explode.

Please note that SPEC part# SF46A is the same as SPEC part# SF64A.

        • If your Mustang is pushing 500+ HP, I'd suggest using the steel flywheel rather than the aluminum to avoid any possible warping. I've included the link below for you to take a look. Please give us a call if you have any further questions!

            Noticable pick up

If your going to keep your mustang with little mods then I wouldn't recommend it. Lose the torque that you have but very noticable pick up after 3 k. I am about to install turbo system in my car so it was a necessity. Overall very good product

Obviously a high quality piece. Installation required NOTHING SPECIAL and went in exactly as it should. This is why you SHOULD ALWAYS buy a high quality part. The time and hassle you save on installation is HUGE and therefore well worth the money spent. As far as the cost, well it was part of a complete clutch and flywheel replacement project. The labor cost on the project was $490.00. The improvement in throttle response was DRAMATIC. Especially on downshifts. You can wait a lot later to make your downshift coming into a corner because when you blip the throttle, the rpms come up NOW. I have a SPEC clutch and flywheel in my Porsche turbo. The cost of the same part for the mustang is ONE FOURTH of what it is for the Porsche! You mustang guys get ALL the bargains!

SPEC Billet Aluminum Flywheel (05-09 Mustang GT)

good product , easy installation Note: because this is a aluminium flywheel , you will need more inertia to get moving , so expect to rev the engine a little higher than before

So far so good. No problems at all and it can definatly take some power to it. Install not to bad either. Good product overall.

            Great Flywheel

I added this while I had the transmission out. One of the best decisions I've made. The engine responds much faster and my 02 GT is more fun to drive. I'm actually getting more power to the ground as I'm now having trouble putting down power out of the corners at the local autocrosses. Some people said it would negatively affect the driveability of the car but they couldn't be more wrong. The installation took only a couple minutes (while swapping transmissions). The only "dislike" is that aluminum flywheels transmit more transmission noise. I personally don't mind (and it's not a lot really). Time after time American Muscle has never disappointed me with my purchases.

            Good flywheel.

I put this flywheel on my car along with a Spec Stage 3 clutch. Both work good together and perform well.

            SPEC Billet Aluminum Flywheel

Wow! Excellent quality unit. Big change in the way that the engine revs. Revs build much quicker. Manual drivers will need to pay a little more attention when pulling away from traffic lights/stop signs due to the lighter feel engaging the clutch. Well worth the money!

Quicker revs and response. Great when combined with new SPEC clutch!
