      Description

      Ideal Replacement. If you've burned out your daily driver V6's clutch by having too much fun or are considering a new unit because it's just time for a better one, consider a SPEC Stage 1. It will hold better than a stock unit without giving you a leg workout every time you need to shift, and will improve your drivetrain's ability to handle power and perform reliably.

      Daily Driver Friendly. This SPEC Stage 1 Clutch is designed for bolt-on naturally aspirated and mildly modified forced induction engines. It's best suited to 'Stangs that see daily driver duty and occasional track use, since it offers the most friendly pedal feel combined with SPEC's legendary durability.

      Premium Quality. The SPEC Stage 1 Clutch offers all the features you need from a more powerful clutch with superior driveability. SPEC Stage 1 Clutches feature their signature high clamp pressure plate combined with a steel-backed and multi-compound woven organic material disc and high torque sprung hub. Like with all SPEC Clutches, an alignment tool is included for easy installation.

        frekin awesome!

        honestly this job was a pain considering i had it all done by myself. after i bolted everything back together i was afraid something wasnt going to feel right but after i took my Stang for a ride she felt amazing! totatly would recommend! if only AM could hook it up with an OE flywheel or discount :(

        5 2003 V6 - Boss

        Smooth clutch

        Putting it on was the easy part, torquing to spec and all, the transmission was a pain to get back in. But other than that it's a great clutch, would highly recomend you spend the money on a new clutch fork, pivot stud, clutch cable, quadrant, and firewall adjuster. Made the job a lot easier.

        2000 Mustang V6 Spec Stage 1 Clutch Install

        By far the best clutch I have ever installed on a Mustang. Took about 3 hours, great fit. We also changed out the clutch cable with an adjustable from AM and a new AL flywheel. Awesome feel, perfect bite. Drove it 500 miles then hammered it. Huge difference from stock.

        Defected and tried to return

        It came defected and then when i went to return they send you over to spec which is no help at all because they say o our product is supposed Chutter like crazy and make your drivetrain sound like its going to come off and when you take it off to look at it it all ready has a lot of hot spots all over it in just under a half and hour and the clutch disc is chipped. Highly fount that very much it shouldnt brake its self. Put old one back in and it drives amazing so i will never buy spec again.

        Soft Clutch but great bang for your buck

        Very, Very, Very soft clutch, not a fan of that but for a SPEC 1 you will get more than you paid for outside of such a soft clutch.

      The picture seems to show a pilot bearing included in the kit, but the part list doesn't. Does this kit include it, or do I need to order separately?

      How is the throw-out bearing? I have had very bad luck with other throw-out bearings in the past and I don't want to repeat the same mistake.

      • The Spec Stage 1 Clutch (94-04 V6) is a awesome company who makes great clutches. You will not have a problem with this throw out bearing.

      Does this kit come with a titanium throw out bearing?

      • The Spec Stage 1 Clutch does not come with a titanium throwout bearing. The throwout bearing is a high-grade steel, titanium would be too hard to seat to the fingers and would likely cause a squealing noise.

      Do I have to replace the flywheel also?

      • Whenever you are replacing your clutch with an aftermarket, it's highly recommended to replace the flywheel as well with the same brand, as they will have the proper tolerance and clearances for smooth clutch engagement. You can resurface and use your stock flywheel, but the clutch can wear out prematurely as they are not made with the correct clearances for one another.
