      Video Review & Installation

If the factory mounts in your 1996 to 2004 4.6-liter V8 are completely shot, well, then you might want to consider this affordable upgrade from SR Performance. Now, these mounts from SR will combine a zinc-plated heavy-duty steel build, along with a more performance-based polyurethane material to reduce engine movement, all for right around 150 bucks. Now, the site is going to call this install a full-blown three out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter here and about four hours or so to complete from start to finish just to be on the safe side. But as always it certainly is going to differ by situation, whether the motor is already out, or whether you just plan on swapping them with the motor in the car.So, again, these mounts are going to be for the SN or New edge 4.6 owners out there looking to replace some old and blown out factory engine mounts with an affordable polyurethane solution. Now, those factory rubber mounts are good for soaking up NVH, or noise, vibration, and harshness, but they really allow the engine to rock and move all over the place, which isn't ideal to help you put the power down or bang that next gear. The polyurethane here on the other hand is going to feature a firmer material or durometer that will offer a more direct feel. Certainly going to last a lot longer compared to those soft rubber factory bushings, and most importantly, will not waste engine energy by allowing a bunch of rocking or movement. Now, for manual cars, that reduction in movement will also be huge because it's going to help attribute to more accurate shifts. Always worth pointing that out as well. Now, in my opinion, poly is a good middle of the road option between those soft factory rubber bushings, and an all-out solid motor mount that's just going to rattle the fillings completely out of your head. Now, with that being said, you will certainly feel a little bit more vibration with the poly mounts here, but as a lot of our customers have pointed out in the review section, it's nothing too crazy or over the top. As always, check out those reviews if you haven't done so already.Construction is going to be very solid overall. You're looking at a stamped steel base here that has been zinc-coated to reduce some corrosion over the years, Grade 8 studs, brand new hardware, and finally loaded with that tough polyurethane material. Now, some of our customers have mentioned the need to enlarge one of the holes roughly an eighth of an inch. But some other customers have mentioned they did not need to modify anything at all. So, it appears to be a case-by-case basis depending on your year Mustang. Now, obviously, your install will vary, too. Some owners tend to swap mounts when they do engine work. Have the engine out. Makes it a lot easier, of course. Other owners will simply jack up the motor and swap out the mounts that way. So, with that being said, it really does differ depending on your situation. But either way, the site is just going to call this a full-blown three out of three wrenches, and about four hours to complete from start to finish. So, if you're looking to replace some old and tired factory motor mounts in your 1996 to 2004 GT Mach 1 or Bullitt, you'll want to consider these poly mounts from SR Performance right here at

Reduce Engine Movement. A set of SR Performance Heavy Duty Engine Mounts, which feature high grade polyurethane bushings will significantly reduce engine and driveline movement when compared to the stock rubber motor mounts. With a reduction in engine deflection, you will experience an increase in engine response, quicker reaction times and more accurate shifts.

Durable Construction. SR Performance Heavy Duty Engine Mounts are stamped from steel for superior strength and durability. The Engine Mounts are then completed in a Zinc finish long lasting corrosion resistance. These SR Performance Motor Mounts will provide years of trouble free driving performance.

Polyurethane Bushings. The included polyurethane bushings are considerably stiffer than the soft factory rubber bushings for a dramatic increase in handling performance. While being stiffer than stock you will see a negligible increase in NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness).

Application. These SR Performance Heavy Duty Engine Mounts are specifically designed for use on the 1996-2004 Ford Mustangs equipped with the 4.6L V8 motor, excluding SVT Cobra models.
