    Review & Installation Video

Hey everyone I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com and I’m taking a look at a very underrated part that will drastically improve your rides handling all while taking it easy on your wallet. I’m referring to the Strut Tower Braces available in black and chrome for all 94-04 Mustangs. Strut tower braces are great for a couple of different reasons, the first and most obvious plus is the fact that they reduce unwanted chasse flex which simply mean that your ride is going to handle a little better. A byproduct of the bar is it really adds to the under hood styling of your ride especially if you opt for the show worthy chrome finish here in front of me, or if you like to keep things sleek and under the radar in your hood then you might want to opt for our powder coated black finish shown behind me on our 98 GT. These bars are constructed from ultra-strong tubular steel which help keep the front end from flexing while the under load throughout turns. These bars also feature a mounting point on the firewall that really helps the front end to feel a lot more solid. So while these options may not be as flashy as our other strut bars, this brace is all business. This bar does require a small amount of work to get everything installed properly you will need to remove your windshield wipers and the upper cal panel just so you can access the bolts connecting this brace to the firewall. In addition to that you will need to drill into your strut towers as well. Well I know this sounds a little daunting, don’t worry, as long as you follow the detailed instructions on this page you should be all wrapped up in about 2 hours. Any knowledgeable car enthusiast will tell you that a good performance suspension is a sum of all its parts with that in mind will this bar help you turn over a g in the skid pad alone? Probably not, but it will tighten things up dramatically and it will look great under the hood while doing so.

Eliminate Body Flex. Eliminate unwanted chassis flex and body roll in your SN95 Mustang with an SR Performance Strut Tower Brace for improved handling. This SR Performance Strut Tower Brace was designed to fit both the GT and V6 Mustangs.

Superior Construction. Made from super strong steel tubing to keep your front end from flexing under the torque of your motor this SR Performance Strut Tower Brace is completed with a bright chrome finish for great under hood looks and durability.

Easy Bolt-on Installation. A SR Performance Strut Tower Brace is a simple bolt-on suspension upgrade that clears the factory intake manifold and is easily installed with basic hand tools.

Application. This SR Performance Chrome Mustang Strut Tower Brace is designed to fit the 1994 to 2004 V6 and GT Ford Mustangs. It will not fit Mach 1, Bullitts or SVT Cobra Mustangs.

      Awesome

I was not expecting much from a 100 dollar investment into the handling aspect of my car. I thought maybe it would be a little smoother on corners, but that's it. Installation took about 2 hours and wasn't too difficult, but dang was I impressed. I never realized how poorly my car handled around curves until I installed the strut tower brace. With just this the body roll I experienced going around curves was greatly reduced and I can go anywhere from 10-20mph faster around curves. I'm extremely pleased with this purchase and I recommend it as a must have for anyone that wants to improve the handling of their Mustang!

      Awesome product Great price!

Awesome product! It took 1 3/4 hrs to install by myself. Just look out for throttle body spacers and aftermarket valve covers. If you have them it will be a tight fit or fabricating and machining your own mounting brackets like I did. Look and perform great I would buy another one. Thanks AM!

      Worth the effort.

This product is labor intensified. You may need help if your not handy with tools. However it looks great and defiantly improves handling..

Was super easy to install. Took me and a friend no time to get it done. I got instructions with mine. I know I read reviews where other guys said they didn't. It was shipped and to me in 3 days so I found it pretty quick. Thanks to SR Performance and American Muscle

      strut tower brace install challenges

This strut tower brace came with no instructions. I found installation instructions at American Muscle website. Instructions failed to mention that the screws attaching the bottoms of the A-pillar covers need to be removed to facilitate removing the black plastic cowl cover (allows the bottoms to be pulled out about 1/4"). I broke mine trying to remove it and discovered the missing step in the instructions provided by Ford with my replacement panel. Expensive mistake. Cowl panel cost more than the strut tower brace.

      Defective Product Doesn't Fit

I was excited upon the arrival of my strut tower brace from sr performance, but when I went to install it it did not got properly. The end of the brace did not reach the firewall, and to get it to fit I had to bend out the two mounting brackets for the strut towers. If this was just a defective product then Sr performance should up their quality control otherwise I would not recommend this product.

Noticable increase in front suspension firmness

I had to bend the flanges at the shock mounts to creat a better fit before drilling and bolting on the brace. I could feed a big difference right away in the firmness of the front suspension after the brace was installed. It was a good bang for my buck. It will improve handling during track events.

Fit and finish was not as good as I was expecting, the performance gain was noticable around corners and sharp bends in the road.

Had a strut tower brace that required shims and extra washers plus elongating holes to fit. SR Performance bar needed none of the above.Ten minute install.

      Pending

I haven't installed it yet, but have done some preliminary test fittings and it seems like it's not quite reaching the firewall. But that's okay when I crank down the hefty bolts provided it will either pull the firewall forward or whatever. It of course looks great.

Great Mod but will cost you a cowel

This strut tower brace was a good addition to my '02 GT, it got rid of some body flex and roll, nothing crazy but noticeable! The biggest downside to this is there is a 99 chance your cowel will crack while installing it. In the instructions it says to be very careful- and seriously, that cowel is probably the most fragile plastic part ive ever delt with on a car! I was beyond careful with the help of a friend and despite our best efforst, the cowel cracked in 5 spots. This hopefully wont be the case for anyone else who purchases the strut tower brace, and even if it is, its no fault of the manufacturer. Just be extremely cautious or you will crack a peice of the car that cost more than the bar itself lol! Besides that, it had little to no problem and great handeling. Good luck!
