Improves Traction. If you can't "hook up" off the line you're going nowhere fast. Keep your Mustang's rear end planted to get all the power to the pavement with a pair of Steeda's Billet Aluminum Lower Control Arms. Steeda Rear Lower Control Arms will greatly improve traction for faster launches, less wheel hop and as an added bonus quicker 60ft times.

Steeda Quality. CNC Machined from billet aluminum for superior strength and light weight these Steeda Rear Lower Control Arms feature spherical bearings and polyurethane bushings to ensure your ride quality is as good as (if not better) than stock, with no additional noise, vibration, or harshness.

Recommended Upgrade. When installing a set of Steeda Rear Lower Control Arms especially on lowered Mustangs it is a good idea to install a set of Steeda Rear Lower Control Arm Relocation Brackets at the same time. Steeda Relocation Brackets will help fine tune your Mustangs suspension geometry for even greater traction.

These Steeda Billet Aluminum Rear Lower Control Arms are designed as direct fit replacement for the stock stamped steel lower control arms on all 2005-2014 Mustangs, including the V6, GT, Bullitt, BOSS, and Shelby GT500 models. Steeda Rear Lower Control Arms (part# 555-4406) are highly recommended for applications making 500 or more horsepower.

    1 Top Rated Question

I know what control arms do, but I'd like to know what the advantage of spherical bearings is over getting polyurethane bushings? I'm trying to justify the price difference

    • Spherical bearings will be stronger and last longer than your polyurethane bushings. They are designed to have a little more travel to help the control arm perform better under more pressure.

      Success! No more wheel hop.

Installation went well, took about three hours, but didn't get in a hurry. Had to pull axle about a half inch forward to get rear bolt in on one side, other lined up fine. Used a ratcheting cargo strap hooked to axle and chassis hole toward front. Lubed bushings really well with supplied grease. No squeaks and rides fine. Getting 130 ft. pounds on the front bolts was difficult on ramps. Will have to confirm torque on a lift. Wheels just spin now instead of hop. Well pleased.

      Eliminate wheel hop

A little extra horsepower to the rear wheels, old bushings and control arms, you get massive wheel hop off the line! These Steeda lower control arms eliminate wheel hop once and for all. Easy install. Can be done at home with simple tools.

      Well worth it.

This is my 3rd set of LCA's. The first were BMR's and the second set was adjustable GMS. The GMs were a chrome finish and they rusted up really bad. The steeda look and feel much better when traveling at higher speeds or quick acceleration. They are a really nice set and they are meant for more HP than the other ones you look at. Always figure out the HP you are trying to attain before just dropping on a set or you might be replacing them like I did.

      Little bit of disappointment.

Bought them months ago thinking it will be the best for the money since these arms are not really cheap. Pros: Very nice looking. They are defiantly something you can chat about with your friends. Visible from the distance if kept nice and shine. Installation was easy as well. Cons: 1. Right after install, I took the car to test drive. I started to hear something like transmission noise on 6th gear at 60 to 70 ml/h. It appears to be, because one side of the arm has not bushing at all, it carries some noise through the chassis. My Boss302 has 2K miles on it. 2. The main purpose why I bought these expensive arms because I wanted to get rid of wheel hop. The other day it was first time I have tried to push little harder on the car and here it was, Wheel Hop. The wheel hop was not as bad as with original but still was present. It's not often I write reviews but this give me no choice.

This should be your first mod!

To start, I own a 2012 GT premium that is supercharged (VMP tvs gen 1). I am putting down around 585hp at the wheels and have 295/35 18 continental extreme contact DW tires in the back. The Install: Installation was fairly simple and should take you less than an hour. Just do not jack your car up. Use ramps. Although even with ramps you may end up having to use ratchet straps or a jack to line the bolt holes up. Mine were off by about 1/4" even with the car on ramps. I ended up having to put the stock jack that came with the car up against the muffler (between the muffler and the rear mounting point for the control arm) to get the brackets to line up properly (using very light pressure from the jack so you don't bend the muffler or muffler hangers). If I had to install another set of control arms on my car, it would take me about 15 minutes tops. Worst part of the whole deal was getting the cable for the emergency brakes off and on again. Now for the before and after: BEFORE: the car would spin hard enough when it shifted at 80 that I would have to let up for a second and get back on it and it would give a bit of chatter and wheel hop when it would grab. Off the line I would get bad wheel hop when feathering the throttle and could not put it to the floor until i hit 40. AFTER: car barks at 80 during the shift and hooks like a monster. Off the line I can ease into it and keep it on the floor by around 25 or 30mph. The car rides just like normal when I am cruising as well. No excessive sound or vibration that I have noticed over the stock LCAs. SUMMARY: Car hooks noticeably harder and I finally feel comfortable turning the traction control completely off. I used to spin tires at 40 if I put it to the floor and now it just hooks. At my power level that is quite amazing to hook like that. This is by far the easiest mod you can do for traction. I have 0 wheel hop now and I get much better traction than before. The car just plants the power to the ground now.

Nice look and great feel on the road.

I recently installed a pair of these LCA's on my 2008 GT and wow the difference in launches is amazing. I daily drive my car and the stock lower control arms were worn and squeeking making hard launches and stops loud and unstable. I noticed a small amount of road noise after the install but the improvement in rear end stability and wheel hop is dramatic to say the least. Get these as soon as possible if you want your rear tires to hook up right!

      Excellent product.

Easy to install, fits great, light weight and looks great, really helped plant the tires...virtually no wheel hop, excellent improvement over stock...the only thing I don't like is the road noise increased a lot.

      Now that is a launch!!!!

I have never seen such amazing results from something so overlooked by most people. Not only are that beautiful to look at and stand out like a sore thumb, but the strength and durability of then is next to none. Wheel hop is non existent, and my launches are ingredable. Shaving off seconds has never been easyer. Very light weigh and very well made. Highly recommend you put these baby's on your pony. You will not regret it.

      Awesome grip!

I took a friend for a ride in my GT just before exams. He had a blast but I felt something was missing; A bit of a lag on WOT (wide open throttle; for the new guys). After asking around and reading reviews, I decided it was time to start work on my suspension. So, I began to look for best way to have my car put the power to the street. These looked like a good Christmas present. I Was Right! The stock bushing were faded and cracked. After I had these installed, I took that same friend out for another run. He was thrown in the back of his seat and asked if I put a supercharger on the car (he does know too much about cars). But that is show, that these make a BIG difference in how well the arms put the power to the road. Make the most out of your horsepower, get these arms, and put that power to work! In terms of noise, I can’t really tell a difference from the old arms.Plus, my exhaust covers most rattles anyway (Pypes H-pipe cat delete, stock mufflers). Never Forget, It is a MUSCLE CAR and MADE TO BE DRIVEN!

      No more wheel hop!

After installing the Ford performance handling pack, wheel hop became an issue since the car was lowered which caused the rear LCA control arm geometry to be off. The combination of the LCA's and the relocation brackets eliminated the wheel hop. These arms are much stiffer than stock. No noise probably due to the sherical bearings.

      Very nice

These work as described and have excellent fit and finish. To my amazement, these eliminated the road noise in the cabin caused by original LCAs, 60k.

      Steeda lower rear control arms

I have these steeda lower rear control arms with spherical bearings. They are a great mod and you can notice a difference as soon as you install them. They stopped all my wheel hop, especially when i started adding some power and they made my car hook/handle pretty well.
