Features, Description, Q&A, Specs & Installation
Stronger Driveline Support. The UMI Performance 4L80E Transmission Torque Arm Relocation Kit is engineered to address the demands of a heavy-duty GM 4L80E transmission setup. By removing the transmission’s front mounting point and relocating torque arm support, this kit helps strengthen the driveline layout while adding protection for the transmission tail shaft. It is an important upgrade for builders looking for improved support without sacrificing ground clearance.
Construction and Appearance. This kit is built from USA steel tubing and stout 3/16-inch mild steel mounting plates for dependable strength and long-term durability. The included crossmember is stronger than the stock unit and features a built-in torque arm mount for a clean, purposeful design. To complete the look, UMI tops the assembly with a durable red powder-coat finish that adds corrosion resistance and a bold performance appearance underneath the vehicle.
Installation. Installation is rated as moderately easy, making this a practical upgrade for experienced enthusiasts and home garage builders alike. The process does not require drilling, cutting, or welding, which helps simplify the job and preserve surrounding components. All necessary hardware is included, and the design is intended to work with a solid 1-piece polyurethane bushing rather than a factory 2-piece style.
Application. This UMI Performance 4L80E Transmission Torque Arm Relocation Kit fits 1998-2002 Chevrolet Camaro models.
