    Review & Install Video

Hey, Stephanie with AmericanMuscle.com and this is my review of the Vogtland Sport Plus Lowering Spring Kit for 2015 and up Fastback GTs. The Vogtland Sport Plus Lowering Springs are going to be for the S550 Fastback owners out there that are looking to go a little bit more aggressive when taking care of that stock wheel gap. The Sport Plus springs are going to drop the S550 1.3 inches all the way around, which is a touch more than the standard one-inch drop that a lot of other brands are offering. You're going to notice a pretty big difference in the before and after with these springs, when we compare these to the stock springs, even though we're talking about less than a one and a half inch drop. But these springs are going to have the body sitting evenly right above your tires, which is a really good look in my opinion, and they aren't going to drop so low that you'll have clearance issues under the car or on the tire. If you're looking to go even lower, the Eibach Sport lines are going to drop the front 1.5 inches and 1.3 inches in the rear, which will also give you more of a raked look if you prefer that. Another thing that's nice about this kit is that while you're going to be improving the looks of your S550, you're also going to notice an improvement in handling as well, which is exciting from just a spring. I can say from experience that these springs are going to reduce some body roll and help in other areas, like less squat movement when you're really laying into it or even less nosediving if you brake hard. Basically, you're lowering your center of gravity, and the car should feel more responsive in overall handling. As far as price, this kit is right in between two and three hundred dollars for a product with a handful of benefits that are valuable for any car, from the daily driver to the car that sees some occasional track time, and that's not going to give you an obnoxiously stiff ride quality. For the install, I'm going to call this a two-wrench install because you're probably looking at about four hours to get this done and, overall, it's not very difficult. You're going to want to make sure you have a jack and stands if you aren't doing this on a lift, and a spring compressor as well. And it's never a bad idea to stop in for an alignment after the install is complete. Wrapping things up here, if you're looking for a little bit more aggressive drop for your S550 Fastback GT, and you're interested in some handling improvements as well, then you should check out these Sport Plus Springs from Vogtland on the site. Do some more research, compare these to your other options, and for all things Mustang, keep it right here at AmericanMuscle.com

Performance Handling. Installing a set of Vogtland Progressive Rate Sport Plus Springs will lower your 2015-2020 S550 Fastback Mustang's center of gravity, which will help reduce squat during acceleration, body roll in the corners, and excessive nose-dive under hard braking. Vogtland Sport Springs are ideal for daily driving, street, and even occasional track use.

Lowered Muscle Car Stance. Not only does a set of Vogtland Sport Plus Springs improve the handling performance of your Mustang, but they also improve its overall appearance. By lowering the ride height approximately 1.5" in the front and 1.3" in the rear, that huge tire to fender gap is eliminated, providing your Mustang with a classic muscular stance.

Clears Stock and Aftermarket Wheels & Tires. These lowering springs were engineered to be compatible with your factory size wheels and tires, as well as AmericanMuscle's pre-configured wheel and tire combo kits (specific to your generation), to assure proper clearance with no rubbing issues.

Application. This set of four Vogtland Sport Plus Lowering Springs are specifically designed for use on 2015-2020 Fastback GT Mustang models equipped with independent rear suspension (IRS).

Technical Note. The Springs are not compatible on vehicles equipped with the MagneRide Suspension.

Many other kits with a similar drop include shorter bump stops, however i noticed that this kit does not. Do i need to cut my factory bump stops and if yes, by how much? Thanks!

        • You will not need to cut your factory bump stops for these springs to work. The bump stops on other packages are for specific fitment of the spring on that package. This package will not need modified bump stops.

I just purchased the Vogtland Sport Plus Springs. And im curious on the size of wheels and tires I will beable to run. Maybe 20x10s on the rear? Or is that pushing the limits?

        • This will vary on a number of factors including wheel offset. For a frame of refrence, any of wheel and tire kits have been test fit to work with up to 2" of a drop. Please reach out directly to our customer service department via our live chat feature, email at support@AmericanMuscle.com, or by calling 1-855-209-8876 we need to find some additional information about your build before making a recommendation and would be glad to help assist you with this build!

Do these springs fit on the 2019 Ford Mustang gt performance pack?

Can i run 305/35r19s with these springs?

        • The Vogtland Sport Plus Spring Kit will allow 305/35R19's to fit with most wheels, however some wheel offsets will not allow tires this wide to fit properly.

What will I need with these springs to ensure the alignment is not thrown off/eliminate negative camber? Will caster/camber plates be needed? Will bolts by themselves work? I typically see people recommend caster/camber plates for anything more than a 1" drop, so with this being 1.3" what all will I need?

        • With that Vogtland Sport Plus Spring Kit, we would recommend checking out caster camber plates to correct the alignment of your car after the drop.

            2017 Mustang GT PP Premium

I’ve been lowering cars for years. Everything from coil-overs to bags. Hands down these are the some of best spring and rates with stock struts you can get. The car feels more stable and lost the floaty feeling I had prior to the swap from stock springs.

Almost the same ride quality of a stock springs

I find it a little bit bouncy on the rear over road bumps. But all in all, I’m satisfied with the ride height, and ride quality.

            Great Springs!!

I came from the Infiniti world and always lower my cars.. Each time I lowered my car it was a mixed bag as it always looked good but the car would ride harsher and sometimes would even be to low and cause clearance issues. These springs are a perfect mix of everything. Looks are literally perfect but if I wanted to be extremely picky the front could be a 1/8th or 2 lower... Handling definitely feels improved and ride quality has not changed at all or in all honesty may even be improved.

            On a 2018 GT PP1

The drop looks great! The spring rate almost feels the same as the performance pack springs. And isn’t a bouncy ride. Really good springs to go toe to toe or exceed the ride quality of the Sportlines from Eibach.

Rear shocks did not fit my 2018 GT Premium PP1

I gave one star because I could not install the springs on my car. It does not reflect the quality of the spring but was disappointed that they did not fit. When installing the rear spring, we found that the bottom base was not wide enough to fit on the bottom rear a-arm. I have the performance pack and wonder if the base of the spring is different from a stock mustang.

Put these on my 2018 GT with a tier 1 performance pack. They are perfect. No wheel gap and no tire rub. The ride is just a little stiffer but that is what I was looking for. Paired them with the Maximum Motorsports Caster Camber Plates. Front: 255/40/19 Rear: 275/40/19

            Great lowering springs

I got these springs because they offered the drop height I was looking for while being a little cheaper than the Eibachs. So far, I’m very pleased with them. I love the way the car sits now, it’s the perfect drop. I had the performance pack and honestly the ride is prettt much exactly the same, I can’t tell any increase in harshness or anything. The car also seems to handle a lot better in a corner - it’s very flat, and there’s also a decrease in brake dive, etc. So, overall nothing to complain about except for one thing: on American Muscle it says the drop is 1.3” front and rear, but in the Vogtland website and on the product it says it’s 1.5” front and 1.3 rear. From what I’ve seen on the Eibachs, which are also 1.5 and 1.3, I believe that’s what these are. So if that matters to you, you may just want to be aware of it. But no big deal.

Suspension is firmer but not too harsh. Ride height is great with wheel-fender gap looking like it should. Rear springs were a pain to take out. Had to move the rear sway bar out of the way to get clearance.

            Love them

These springs are great quality without a doubt. They gave it just the right amount of drop to get rid of the factory wheel gap. The ride is hardly affected, you feel bumps a little more than stock but it's nothing you can't get used to. Little to no body roll around corners anymore, the car feels very planted! Would recommend to anyone as a starter handling mod.
