Simple installation for anyone.
Justin: Hey everybody, Justin with AmericanMuscle.com. I'm here and we're at our local drag strip, MIR, with our 2015 EcoBoost Mustang. Now the whole premise of today is to do some more real-world testing with the help of the Bama Performance team. Now our goal, take our bone stock 2015 automatic EcoBoost with the exception of a drag radial, run it down the track a few times, get some baseline numbers with this car, then pull it into the pits, install an Airaid cold air intake system, a Bama tune and then re-run it and see what time we've actually shaved off. Now it should be a great day for racing here. We've got some nice cool air. So let's get this thing to the line and see how it does.13.64 at 98. It's nice, cold air out here and these turbo cars love that cold air. So for a stock car, that's pretty respectable. So I guess now we'll just get it in the pits. All right Mike from Bama Performance is pulling double duty for us here today. He just installed the Airaid cold air and now he's in the car working on the tune. Mike, what can everybody expect using a tune here on the EcoBoost?Mike: Well, with the EcoBoost with the turbo, we're going to focus on some boost, obviously. We're going to run the car at about 2200 psi, whole boost all the way through so it doesn't drop off. Spent a lot of time on the throttle. Factory is only about 40%. We want to hold it open a lot longer, especially on full throttle. Adjust the shift pressure so we can get better shifts. We're also going to spring-boost it a little quicker even on part-throttle, so a whole lot of changes.Justin: Nice. I mean, well, I'm interested to see how these changes affect our performance, so finish up with that tune, man, let's get this thing in line.Mike: You got it.Justin: All right, guys. So, a 12.9, 103. I mean, there you go, right intake and the tune, the Bama tune is doing its job.Paul: I'm really happy. That's why we like coming to the track. So we can take a look at the data logs in a real-world environment, revise that track tune and get the best time out of it.Justin: There you go. Real-world testing for you guys. A nice, easy mod, a tune and you're shaving off more than a half of a second and picking up some mile-an-hour on the quarter-mile. So, that's it. We're out of here. It's dark. They're kicking us out. But for all things Mustang, keep it right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

It took about an hour to install in the garage and it gives the car a little more pickup. The main thing though, is the turbo noise. This thing let's you hear the whoosh from inside the car with the radio on. Very happy with the mod 5/5Helpful (0)

Check tube before install
I would have given this a 5 star rating, but I was shipped a tube without a hole for the sensor. I had to contact the manufacturer for a replacement tube, which took an extra week and a half. Once I recurved the tube, I noticed the tube was a sliiiiighty different shape too. So maybe they have been shipping out pre-production tubes by mistake. I have posted a photo so you can see the difference. Once installed, I was extremely happy with the results. Just aggravated that I had to wait and extra week and a half. But it was a simple resolution. Manufacturer was very willing to assist.Helpful (0)

Great First Mod
Bottom line, great add. I have not done any measured performance analysis, but it sure feels like added get-up why I step on the pedal. And, my main goal of improved sound was met. Install about 90 minutes minus the problem below. Kit contained the wrong tube, included tube missing the hole for the factory sensor. Called manufacture's 800 number, part was sent next day delivery. Once the kit was complete, I lost filter cover screw and washer during install. Again, the manufacturer sent three sets next day mail for free.Helpful (0)

I’m really happy with this CAI. Quality parts, well made, nothing feels cheap. I haven’t noticed much power increase, but it really wakes up the turbo noise. I have MBRP exhaust and it makes all the turbo noise. So it makes me feel like I'm going faster. The install was fine until it actually came to putting the tube in. It was a pain. You need to leave the clamps super loose on the turbo side to get it to fit in, but once it’s in all was good. I was missing one washer, but I had an extra so no big deal. Took me an hour and a half.Helpful (0)

Nice look, but some poor fit!
Love the look and overall pretty basic install. Plastic clear cover and metal cover piece did not line up well. Thought I was going to have to send back, but eventually got it to work as is.Helpful (0)

Big quality control issue
Just got it I. Today and I can’t even put it in my car! Why? Because the hole for the sensor is not there. Super disappointed with airaid and there quality control department. Called AM and currently waiting on a replacement. So more waiting and hopefully I don’t have to go through this again.Helpful (4)

How many horsepower I get without tuning ?
Which one I should buy? SynthaFlow Oiled Filter or SynthaMax Dry Filter
The oiled filter will catch more debris, whereas the dry will allow slightly better air flow. The choice is personal preference.
How do I clean the filter and how often??
Cleaning your Airaid air filter restores full air flow efficiency and maintains optimum engine performance. You will want to clean your air filter every 30,000 to 50,000 miles under normal driving conditions. Cleaning may be required more often if you drive your vehicle in off-road or heavy dust conditions. If your annual mileage is low, be sure to check the filter once a year to see if cleaning is needed. Step 1: CleanGently shake off and brush away excess dirt.Spray on Airaid Cleaning Solution so that the filter is fully saturated and let soak for 10 minutes.Rinse filter from the clean side to the dirty side until water comes through clear. Use only low pressure from a tap or hose.Step 2: DryAllow filter to dry. A fan may be used to speed process.DO NOT use heated air blowers, compressed air or open flame.Step 3: ApplyIf you have an oiled SynthaFlow® air filter, then you'll need to re-apply Airaid Performance Oil. Re-oiling is not necessary for SynthaMax® air filters.Make one careful application of Airaid Performance Oil to each filter pleat.Allow oil to seep into the filter for 20 minutes.Re-oil any areas that still appear dry.Do not over oil.
I see people with colored casings. Is that an option or do they get them painted after purchase?
At this time, we do not currently offer the cases in a pre-painted option. That is more than likely something that was done after the purchase.
In the product description it says no tune required, but in the tech specs it says computer tune required. Which is it?
This intake is not going to require a computer tune to be used.
The Airaid MXP Series Cold Air Intake w/ SynthaFlow Oiled Filter is confirmed to fit the 15-19 EcoBoost.
