Justin from AmericanMuscle.com, we're here with Chris Thompson from Airaid. He stopped by the shop to tell us a little more about these great Airaid products. We're very familiar with Airaid; we use them on our project cars with great success. Chris, what can you tell us about Airaid that makes it so unique? "Everything we do is digitally designed. It's engineered to fit, it's engineered to work, it's engineered to work without any special tuning. Now, tuning is much, much better. You guys offer a lot of great choices in aftermarket tuning. It'll only enhance the performance of the Mustang. We design our intakes so there's no special gluing required, there's no cutting or hacking of the engine required. If somebody decided to put a stock intake back on, they don't have to go back to Ford to buy another part to put the piece back on. Every intake we do is digitally designed. It's all about the design of the airflow and the linear charge to the throttle body. We use the rotational molding not so much for the heat soaking, but for the shape of the tube we can come up with. By using the rotational molding, it allows us to really give the right shape and form to make sure the product works well." We're very excited—we've got our 2013 Mustang here, probably not even 10 miles on this thing yet, and we already have an Airaid intake on it. Tell us a little more about that. "This is awesome. We're really excited to be here today. This is the first Airaid intake on a 2013 Mustang. We're really excited to be here with you guys. As you can see it fits. We know for sure it fits. We believe we have a hit. We'll do a little bit more testing on it before we release it to the public, but that should happen anytime now." Now, you were telling me earlier, you're working with some legends in the Mustang world. "Well, we're excited about working with Parnelli Jones and his son PJ. Parnelli's been instrumental in helping us come along with the Boss 302 intakes we're trying to develop. Nobody knows the heritage of the Boss 302 better than Parnelli Jones. We worked with PJ on the side by side utility vehicles (Razors, Rhinos, and TRX's). We also sponsored him in the past on his endeavors in the American Le Mans Series, which he ran last year." Chris, thank you so much for educating us on your great Airaid products. And as always, you can find those great Airaid products right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

Now, right off the bat I’m going to say I didn’t purchase this thinking I would gain any power. I purchased it to hear the little whistle it produced, and indeed it does, it’s a very different sound, though it’s very fault due to my car being straight piped but you can still hear it, now I’m getting questions all the time of I have a power added on it. Overall nice product, wish they offered more color options to match your pony.Helpful (0)

Really love the sound in conjunction with headers, magnaflow exhaust, and the KandN Typhoon CAI. People mistake my 3.7 for a GT frequently and no one makes fun of it that’s for sure. With the SXT tuner and non ethanol fuel she keeps up with stock GTs with much better fuel economy. This product gave me that extra noise factor similar to a turbo spoolingHelpful (0)

I liked the sound
A new hissing sound has been added to my car that just gives you something to listen for.Helpful (0)

For the first couple of miles, I could tell that my car didn't know what was going on after I installed. The car adjusted and everything is fine. I do notice a little better pick up, I dont think it's a lot of more horsepower. But for 120 to 140 dollars it was worth it. I do not believe that my gas intake is less with this on. It took less then 20 minutes to install.Helpful (0)

Performs as expected
Product looks well made and was easy to install. There is definitely a whistle, currently have a bbk throttle body and CAI as well. Did see very minor improvement to my MPG’s as well so that was a plus. All in all very satisfied with the product.Helpful (0)

I been looking for this swoosh whistle sound for a while and I honestly didn’t know what made that sound till a friend recommended this tb spacer but I like it, combine it with a CAI, shorty headers and a tune and it’s much more clear and louder, I did a experiment with the trottle body spacer with stock headers and no Tune, the whistle was not very noticeable you could barely hear it but I did notice a better trottle response and a better sound from the exhaust but overall I recommend it paired with a CAI, shorty headers and a tuneHelpful (1)

Fits too perfectly if that's even a thing. You may have a hard time installing if you do not do a cross pattern bolting in with the throttle body. Sounds great with the hood up, you hear a little at the low end with the windows down.Helpful (0)

Really whistles. Low end torque and fuel efficiency is noticableHelpful (1)

I fill like it helped in the low end a tiny bit. Super easy to install besides snapping a screw taking the throttle body off it was cake. It took 20 minutes to do the whole thing. They say you hear a whistle but I don’t on mine.Helpful (3)
Newbie here, will this work with the Roush CAI for my 2016 3.7 V6?
The Airaid Poweraid Throttle Body Spacer will fit with the Roush Cold Air Intake.
So the throttle body spacer will not fit with the Airaid CAI but will it fit with the Airaid Modular Intake Tube?
The Airaid Poweraid Throttle Body Spacer is designed to fit 2011-2017 3.7L V6 Mustangs with a stock throttle body. Will not fit with Airaid Cold Air Intake installed. This would include the Airriad intake tube.
Will this fit if I have the BBK 73mm throttle body and Airaid CAI?
This TB spacer is designed to be used in conjunction with the stock throttle body only, not a larger mm aftermarket TB. Also, this spacer won't fit properly with the Airaid Cold Air Intake. If you already have both the BBK TB and Airaid CAI, my suggestion is to simply keep the set up you have!
Why are some people saying that you cant use it with the BBK 73mm TB even though theres pics of people using it and that you can only use it on the stock TB? As well as if you use it with a BBK 73mm that itll restrict the airflow cause the spacer is smaller?
The Airaid PowerAid Throttle Body Spacer can be physically installed with an aftermarket Throttle body, however it will typically become a flow restriction, compared to the new, larger Throttle Body.
Will this fit on a 2013 GT or is it for V6 only? I have a GT will this fit or is it only for a V6?
This item will only work on V6 mustangs. This is due to the size (and shape) difference of the throttle bodies on these two model vehicles.
Yes, this would indeed be compatible with that cold air intake.
There is not much of a difference other than color and brand.
This would be 68 mm.
No, this is designed for stock throttle bodies only.
No, but this will come with the necessary hardware for the appropriate installation.
You may be able to hear a small difference but it would be very hard to tell the difference due to your mods
As long as you are not using theAiraid PowerAid Throttle Body Spacer with a larger aftermarket throttle body, you will not have any issues.
This Airaid Throttle Body Spacer will not work with an aftermarket throttle body. This is only designed to be used with the stock throttle body.
Unfortunately the throttle body spacers will not fit an aftermarket throttle body. Only the stock throttle body.
