High-Performance Rear Brake Upgrade. The Baer Pro+ Rear 4-Lug Big Brake Kit with 13-Inch Rotors and Comp Yellow Calipers significantly enhances braking power and control on the rear axle. This system is designed for enthusiasts looking to upgrade their classic Mustang with reliable, performance-oriented brakes that improve safety and reduce stopping distances on both road and track.
Construction and Appearance. The kit features six-piston floating calipers manufactured in Phoenix, AZ, from US-sourced forged or billet aluminum with a durable powder-coated finish. The rotors are vented, two-piece, slotted, and drilled, zinc-plated for corrosion resistance, and include a billet aluminum hat for lightweight strength. High-quality stainless steel pistons, abutments, and noise suppression clips complete the robust construction.
Installation. This brake kit requires moderate mechanical skills to install and fits the OE Ford 8.8-inch c-clip rear end with 4-lug axles without the need for additional drilling. A master cylinder upgrade is recommended to optimize brake system performance.
Application. Specifically designed to fit 1979–1992 Ford Mustang models equipped with the original equipment Ford 8.8-inch c-clip rear end and four-lug wheels. This kit is not intended for other axle configurations or vehicle generations.
