    More Horsepower and Torque. Improve the performance of your DOHC 4.6L Mustang with a set of BBK Long Tube Headers. These BBK ceramic coated headers will greatly improve your Mustangs exhaust flow over the restrictive factory manifolds and increase your Pony's horsepower and torque. Increases of up to 22 RWHP have been seen when installed with a BBK shorty H-pipe.

    Silver Ceramic Coating. These Long Tube Headers are completed in BBK's Polished Silver Ceramic Coating that not only looks great, but reduce under hood temperatures to help increase horsepower and extend the life of the headers. Ceramic Coated headers will long out last both chrome plated and polished headers.

    Quality BBK Construction. BBK Long Tube Exhaust headers are manufactured from 1 5/8" CNC mandrel bent tubing for unrestricted airflow. And feature one piece laser cut 3/8" header flanges for added strength, leak-free performance and OEM fit. These headers are then completed in a polished ceramic finish for good looks and to lower under hood temperatures.

    Recommended Upgrade. To realize the full power potential that these Long Tube Headers have to offer, AmericanMuscle recommends a custom tune with a Mustang Handheld Tuner to reprogram the vehicles computer (ECU) for proper operation.

    Application. These Ceramic Long Tube Headers are designed to fit the manual transmission 1999 to 2004 SVT Cobra and manual transmission 2003 to 2004 Mach 1 Mustangs. BBK long tube headers require a flanged end shorty midpipe in order to function properly. BBK recommends using a BBK shorty H-Pipe for the best performance gains (see drop down option above).

    Technical notes. Not legal for use on pollution controlled motor vehicles; intended for off road use only. An O2 Sensor Extension Kit and BBK shorty Mid Pipe are required for installation.

    Will these work fine with the Borla Attak Cat Back system?

    • These will work with the Borla ATAK catback system as long as you purchase the accompanying BBK mid-pipe with these headers.

    BBk long tube headers what can i use ? i have the bbk long tube headers installed on my 2003 cobra and i want to put the SLP Catted shorty x pipe. will they hook up with out any hassle? and then i want to do the SLP loudmouth catback. will there be any problems with the different headers connecting to the x pipe?

    • Most often than not, mix-matching long tube header and mid-pipe brands can lead to fitment issues. We've found that especially true with the SLP brand. I'd advise you to stick with the BBK Shorty Catted X and then bolt up the SLP Loudmouth Catback Exhaust. You wouldn't have a problem using that combination and it would certainly sound loud and nasty! Hope this helps!

    If I purchase and install these long tube headers with the off road h pipe and get a tune, will my car still pass emissions?

    • Most long tube headers are designed for off-road use only. The same goes for the off-road mid-pipes. In most cases they will not pass emissions. However, it honestly depends on the state and their emission laws. We recommend checking with your local or state ordinances to confirm if your setup will pass or not.

    Hi I'm just starting a 03 cobra terminator swap on my 88 foxbody and was wondering if these headers fit with no issues.

    • The BBK 1-5/8 in. Ceramic Long Tube Headers are designed to bolt to the 99-04 Cobra. So they will bolt up to the engine. Though, you may run into clearance issues installing in a Fox Body.

      buy the good stuff. I bought brand x and they did not fit worth a darn. bought BBK and no problems. you get what you pay for. should have went with BBK to start with.

      Tight fit

      These fit but it's tight. We put them on before putting motor back in as you couldn't do it with motor in car (at least we couldn't and we had motor out anyway). If we have to take motor out again we will drop the k member rather than take it out the top. Pipes work well and we have no complaints.

      Bbk headers

      What a bear to install. Look good but they rub against the brace support underneath my cobra convertible. I will have to drop the brace and grind it down just alittle to give it the clearance it needs.

      Install was a bear! Had to drop passenger side cradle 3 inches to get a few bolts started. Very good quality made a big from stock. difference in sounds amazing and power is noticeable.

      BBK Longtube headers

      Headers Looked awesome and are holding up well been on my car for about 3 months now and still no sign of rust. Install took a few days on jack stands in the garage with some help from friends and family. After install was complete the first startup combined with the off road x pipe was heaven to my hears definitely notice and increase in power and torque while driving. Awesome headers.

      Better ET's and MPH

      I have these headers installed on a 99 Cobra convertible. I also have the bbk catted H pipe and flomaster 40 series following them. Before I had these installed my best 1/4 mile run was a 13.9 at 98mph. I was also never able to break 100mph. After the install, my fastest pass was a 13.6 at 104mph. No tune or other mods and I'm running on the cheapest street tires I could get. I'm also breaking 100mph every pass now. The total cost for everthing was around $1700. Its not the loudest system but it sounds amazing when the throttle is wide open.

      Sound amazing overall power was significantly better, can deffidently tell a difference especially with the tune, quite idle which is also good.. After 1500 rpms the car sounds like a beast

      04 Mach 1 BBK Long Tube Headers

      Great add, semi complex to install. Must have Tubular K-mbr and must have O2 sensor extensions. Last bolt on the upper right-hand side is a real bear. Great sound, noticeable performance gain.

      I matched these BBK Ceramic Longtube Headers with the BBK off road H-Pipe and now my 03' Terminator sounds like a monster. If you're looking for a really aggressive sound then I highly recommend this upgrade. Love this product.

      Roar

      I heard pairing the LT header, xpipe and Borla Exhaust would give you a nasty sound. I already had the exhaust so I purchased the bbk LT header and xpipe. All I can say is WOW, it gives you a nice roar but only when u push the pedal down. I have already scared 2 people reving it up while showing off. If you want your stang to be nasty sounding, than I would 1000% recommend this with the xpipe. My mechanic had to take motor out in order to put headers on. He also said it would be a pain now to put a new starter in bc of headers. He said you have to basically take headers out. I would recommend putting in new starter while mechanic is there already to save future headache

      Expect a lot of swearing then a lot of smiles!

      I chose to drop the K member to install these headers and I had the aid of a two post lift and a set of air tools. This was a very time consuming install and I broke a few old pieces on my car while doing it. I planned out my install well and ended up replacing a whole host of other parts while in there (motor mounts, steering rack bushings, power steering hoses, lower control arm bushings). I read up a lot and saw all of the references to cutting studs to get the heads connected to the block and I needed to cut zero. What I did was to get the headers over each stud and to thread each bolt onto the very loose headers before proceeding; it wasn't easy but I didn't have to cut anything and used all the stock studs for the install. When I got the car back together (I paired my long tubes with a catted H pipe) I was greeted with an amazing sounding exhaust system. I haven't really had the chance to push the car because of a new clutch and flywheel but wow does my car sound amazing from what I've heard from it and the gains have been whats expected from the install. I didn't lose too much ground clearance, I gained a bit of power, and I sound like an American sports car should sound. Money well spent in my book! *On a side note* If you happen to break your dipstick tube off in the block: Thread a stud into it, put a socket over the stud that the stud can be accessed through drive side and is bigger then the hole on the block, put a bolt over the top and thread the bolt. This is how I got mine out.

      bbk longtube, o/r h, slp lm2, = wow

      had these put on along with bbk off road h pipe and slp loudmouth 2's from American muscle , must say wow the sound is like music to my ears , must say loud and deep , very noticeable power difference first time i took off , installation was a bit pricey from the shop but never have to redo it and def worth it ,

      Awesome pipes, tricky install

      AMAZING headers, sounds great, especially with the matching BBK shorty x-pipe. Has a great race car raspy growl. As per the instructions, you need to undo the P/S motor mount and lift that side of the engine to fit them past the body. HUGE pain for the DIY's. I just dropped the transmission, made it easier and I had to put in a clutch anyway. All in all very much worth the time and money. Great power increase and sound. and of course fast and free shipping from AM!!
