No More Pegging. The BBK 86mm MAF with Sensor is great for modified and custom applications where the stock mass air meter "pegs" due to increased air flow. By upgrading the stock 80mm MAF in your 1999-2002 Mustang GT, you can potentially unlock up to an additional 15hp at the rear wheels.

Pre-calibrated. This BBK 86mm Mass Air Meter Housing is already calibrated for use with 19lb fuel injectors and an aftermarket cold air intake, saving you time and frustration by maintaining an accurate air/fuel ratio.

Black Powdercoat Housing. CNC machined to exact specifications from high quality 356 aluminum, this BBK Performance Mass Air Meter Housing features a black powdercoat finish for impressive under hood styling.

Application. The BBK 86mm Mass Air Meter is specifically designed for use in 1999 to 2002 GT Mustangs with 19lb fuel injectors and an aftermarket cold air intake installed.

Technical Note. Not compatible with Cobra models as they require different calibration.

How do you get around the ITF sensor on a 2002 GT?

How do you get around the IAT sensor on a 2002 GT?

The 2002 models and up incorporated the IAT and MAF sensor in one unit. Does this unit include both sensors or will my BBK CAI require modification for a IAT sensor?

        • This unit would not incorporate the IAT sensor with it.

            As advertised

Anyone looking to upgrade their GT's air flow will want this item. With a proper tune, as well as, a throttle body, plenum and cold air intake you will feel a difference in power. For those of us that can't afford a supercharger.

Idle Problems for 01 Mustang GT

Can't say anything positive about the product. Its advertised as bolt on no tune required. Installed once on the factory setup and messed up the idle like crazy. Took it off and sent it back. Got a replacement, Got my tunes and loaded them with the addition of the Mass air meter. Once again bad idle and then codes P1000, P0171 and 174 (banks 1 and 2 lean) and wouldn't clear. Bama tuners couldn't help. Took off the part reinstalled the factory air meter and all codes disappeared. Cause more problems and im out 200 dollars because its been installed for a couple of days.

            Great looking piece!

The housing fit great, could not get car to run with new meter, had to install factory one back in its place. It would not idle or run, disappointing in that part. I decided not to remove all that I had installed to send the part back. maybe some credit or a return of the meter would be great.

The Last link in the chain!

I purchased a BBK CAI (from American Muscle of course!). It's nice, noticed a little more torque in my "butt Dyno"... But it wasn't quite what I was expecting. It's NOT the intake's fault. What I forgot about - was the tiny MAF sensor housing!! Well, AM to the rescue AGAIN! I got this 86mm in only a few days - and installed in about a half hour. Got my BAMA tune updated, and.... WOW!!! She became NOTICEABLY quicker!! Throttle response much better, and a definite improvement above 4500rpm! :O Thanks for a great upgrade that really improved my prior improvement! ~ Carmine
