      Review & Installation Video

Hey. everybody, I'm Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and in this video, I'm gonna be talking about a few upper and lower control arm options from BBK, available for your '79 to 2010 Mustang. If there's ever been one company that has truly flown the Mustang flag since day one, it's BBK. They've been showing their support for the Mustang and it's owners since the mid-80s, and show no signs of letting up anytime soon. As many of you guys probably already know, BBK makes a wide variety of parts for many different applications, including exhaust systems and cold air intakes, headers, and even suspension components like I'm talking about here today. Now the parts I have with me in this video consist of an upper and lower rear control arm kit, available for both your three and four link Mustang. So when ordering, just make sure you grab the right set for your generation. So the job of the rear upper and lower control arms is to brace and link the rear end of your Mustang to the chassis itself, and ultimately control the movement, hence the name control arm. Now the problem is the factory stuff contains soft rubber factory bushings that do a great job soaking up the excess noise vibration and harshness, but can often times leave a lot on the table when it comes to performance. Now this can cause problems such as bad wheel hop, poor traction, and inconsistent launches, just to name a few. The upper and lower arms from BBK are gonna improve on those areas I just talked about, thanks in part to the high-quality aircraft grade steel, precision welding, and most importantly, the high-performance polyurethane bushings. They're gonna help reduce any excess movement in the rear end, help you put that power down, and improve your handling in the process. Finally here, all the bars have been powder coated in the signature gray from BBK and do include greaseable fittings here to help prolong the lives of the bushings themselves. Since the kit from BBK does include both the upper and lower rear control arms you are gonna be spending a little bit more time in the garage, but overall the install shouldn't be that bad, maybe two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. Now we do call this one a full-day install on the site, but I wouldn't be surprised if some of you guys can bang this one out in six hours or less, just to get everything knocked out. So always guys, if you have any questions whatsoever, feel free to reach out to our team of Mustang experts here at AM anytime. They're always standing by ready to give you a hand. So if you guys are looking to put the power down, get off the line a little better, and improve your handling in your 1979 to 2010 Mustang, be sure to check out one of these kits from BBK right here at AmericanMuscle.com

        Nice upgrade

The control arms look great and manufacturing is of excellent quality. Like that these come with grease fittings. Installation was a breeze. The only thing that is hard to get used to, is the noise of the bushings. Great value though, and a necessary upgrade

        bbk control arms

i thought they would be too stiff given the year of he mustang, but since i swapped out all the suspension this worked perfect with my setup. not too stiff, i reckon sometimes the reviews don't highlight that they over torque the bolts.

will this control arm kit eliminate the need for my quater shocks I bought 10" wheels from you and I don't like how close the quarter shock is to the tires. Have been told better control arms would eliminate need for these shocks

      • Yes, you can eliminate the need for the quad shocks by installing these control arms. If you were to remove them and not upgrade the control arms you would have wheel hop.

What kind of grease would you recommend for these control arms?(type, brand, etc)

      • For the polyurethane bushings in the BBK Rear Upper & Lower Control Arm Kit, we would recommend white lithium grease or chassis grease. For increased longevity, we would recommend a marine grade grease that is more resistant to moisture. As far as brand, we would recommend any well known brands that could be acquired at most hardware stores.

I just installed these over the weekend, I didn't put any grease around outside of bushings that connect to chassis because instructions said install then lube once installed.. should I have put some grease there even if it didnt say so? Also I gave it 3-5 pumps of grease Im hoping that wasnt too much and I didnt destroy the sleeve inside bushing 1 answer
Hi, I have this kit on my 95 GT and i also have the quad shocks and a pan hard bar from Maximum motorsports. My rear end is super stiff and I wanted to know if removing my quad shocks would be enough to soften the suspension or can i install normal rubber bushings on the uppers? MM suggests stock uppers, but i purchased all the parts and missed that part. thanks Ed 1 answer
What improvements could I expect using these for a street car? Also, what visual effects would I expect to see, as in how would this affect the ride height of my lowered car? I would be installing these on a car that currently has the Eibach Pro Suspension system. 1 answer
if installed on my 95 gt, will i still be able to upgrade to a coil over kit? if so any suggestions. thanks 1 answer
