I installed these 235/50/18’s on a 2009 Mustang V6 with a pony package on October 23rd. I could tell right away that these are solid tires. Dry conditions they handle and corner great. I’m always cautious in the rain, but the my seem to grip well there too. I got to test these puppies out for real today. I was so impressed with their performance I had to write this review and some details about why they may be the best tire I have ever had on this car.
Today 11/15/18, here in New Jersey we got hit with a horrible “surprise” snow storm that crippled our roads and highways into complete gridlock. It took people hours just to go a few miles. I drove on untreated side steets with at least 5” of snow. Uphill. Downhill. No problem. I drove on untreated I-80 which was in horrible condition. They had (sorta) plowed the left and middle lanes leaving the far right untouched along with a pile dividing what they did plow. It was about a foot of snow blocking most cars from using any of the exit ramps. There were cars and SUVs stuck everywhere. I needed to get off at an exit, but this pile was pretty high. I would never normally attempt it, but there was a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited in front of me that was exiting. I backed off while he made his path and then aimed and gunned it into his tracks. I broke thru the pile and easily maintained control of my rear and was able to exit. I passed a dozen FWD drive cars and SUVs stuck in that same snow.
Today I drove 20 miles from work to home in some of the worst conditions I have ever seen in my 25 years on the road. My car has never handled so well in the snow since putting these tires on. Of course it’s still a Mustang and it could be pretty dangerous if you're not careful, but I have to say I was less stressed about my car’s handling and more concerned with people around me. I give these tires 5 stars!
