1979-1993 Mustang Wheels, Tires, & Packages

When you've got a beautifully restored Third Generation Mustang in your garage – a 1979-1993 Foxbody – you want only the best for it when you go to fit it out with new wheels and tires. Wheels and tires are the place where the twin goals of the Mustang – to be a great American muscle car and a 1.5 ton piece of hard-charging eye candy – meet, so good choices are important.

Luckily, there are plenty of good choices to be had that will make your 'Stang able to conquer both the road and the envious hearts of everybody who doesn't own it. The Foxbody uses a 4-lug wheel in some cases and a 5-lug wheel in others, but you can find both on American Muscle. Spokes range from the clean, effective five-spoke type to barbed, branching varieties that give your wheel's look both complexity and machismo. Motorsport styling has a studded look that gives an even tougher appearance.

There are plenty of tires to fit onto those wheels, along with wheel & tire packages that let you slap the new tires on and get onto the road in a hurry without sacrificing quality. Larger diameters boost handling (though they do erode ride quality) and wider tires give your car a "butch" stance and amp up the traction just in case someone challenges you to a race.

Besides summer performance, race & competition, and all-season tires, you can improve your 'Stang even more with the 1979-1993 caliper covers, wheel spacers, center caps, and specialty lug nuts.
