Improves Driving Performance. Upgrade the suspension of your 2011-2014 Mustang by installing Bilstein B6 Heavy Duty (HD) Series Front Struts. Designed to provide unbelievable control and precise handling, all without sacrificing ride comfort, the Bilstein HD Strut is a great choice when you want to improve the overall driving performance of your S197.

Heavy Duty Design. The Bilstein HD Series Front Strut is a heavy duty upgrade that features a steel bodied, gas pressurized monotube construction. Complete with dust covers, a yellow exterior and internal bump stops, this strut is compatible with either stock springs or aftermarket lowering springs.

Monotube Technology. Even though the HD Strut isn't adjustable, the unique deflective-disc valve design allows for instantaneous self-adjustment to changing road conditions. The patented monotube allows for a larger piston size than twin-tube dampers and will provide better heat dissipation.

Application. This Bilstein Heavy Duty Series Front Strut is designed for use on the 2011 to 2014 Ford Mustangs, including the V6, GT, BOSS and Shelby GT500 models. Sold individually.

I am removing my Tociko manually adk struts I upgraded to the ford racing strut plates when i installed them. Will these Bilstein Struts mount with those plates or will i need to go back to the original ones? Ive been told there is a problem.

  • The Bilstein HD Series Front Strut for 11-14 Mustangs would not be compatible with the GT500 Strut mounts. An 05-09 Strut would need to be used with these strut mounts to install properly.

    Stiffer ride

First off, you need strut mounts from 11-14 Cars, but other than that install is very straight forward. I installed these on a car with stock springs and BMR controll arms as the only upgrades. It took the car up one level in stiffness and reduced the body roll. I need to keep the stock ride height so this was a good option.

    WORTH THE MONEY!

My old factory front struts where starting to bind up and make clunking noises, so I figured I'd just upgrade to a better strut while I had them out anyways. After taking the old factory struts out and disassembling them on a strut compressor I compared the factory strut to the new Bilstein strut and what a HUGE difference in design and quality! I was simply AMAZED at the difference between the two! The new Bilstein strut is truly "over built" HD quality, but weighs almost no more (or less) then factory! After switching out the new Bilstein struts with the factory coils (paired with a new factory strut mounting plate from Ford) I put them back in and went for a ride. I noticed an IMMEDIATE difference in ride quality! When hitting large or small bumps it's feels firm and planted yet not back breaking. Install was very straight forward, however I have a shop with a lift, strut compressor and other air tools to use that made it a lot easier. From start to finish it only took me about 30 minutes. If you're going to attempt it with hand tools it will probably take you and hour to an hour and a half. I have always been impressed with Bilstein products and had yet to try them, but boy oh boy did I make the right decision buying these struts! Don't cheap out and go for the lesser priced struts, spend the extra cash and get the best for your car, you won't be disappointed!
