Popular Tire Setups for this Wheel
Hey I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and I’m checking out the AMR wheels fitting all 2005 and newer Mustangs available in your choice of either gloss black, silver, and charcoal. These concave multispoke design wheels have quickly become a fan favorite and are a good option for a Mustang owner who’s looking to take a break from the standard 5 spoke wheel design, typically found with a Bullitt or Cobra style wheel. The lightweight aluminum AMR’s are offered in several different sizing options, including an 18, 19 and 20” diameter, and an 8, 8 ½, 9 and 10” width. Because there’s several different sizing options, you can easily stick a wider wheel in the back with a more narrow one up front to help you achieve that classic muscle car stance known as staggered fitment, or on the other hand, you can put the same width wheel on all 4 corners, which will give you a standard fitment and allow you to properly rotate your tires in the future. To give you a better idea of how these wheels might look on your own ride, we outfitted some of the cars here in the shop with the wheels, starting with our 2011 GT behind me, which is equipped with the 20” version in charcoal, our 2013 back there on the lift is sporting the very sleek 18” AMR’s in gloss black, while finally our 2000 V6 back on the Dynojet is rocking the 19” version in silver. Of course you can purchase these wheels by themselves if you’d like, however the smart move would be to take advantage of one of our pre built tire and wheel combinations, where we pair your new AMR’s up with some of the top performing tires on the market today, in sizes that are guaranteed to fit without rubbing, even if you’re lowered an inch or two. On top of that, you get to take advantage of our free mounting and balancing, and free shipping and handling. Finally, all AmericanMuscle wheels are backed by a 1 year warranty on all finishes, and a lifetime structural warranty. When you receive your new set of wheels and tires from AmericanMuscle, you’ll find that installing them is just as easy as ordering them, you’ll first want to make sure the car is on level ground and then crack the lugs loose before you get the car in the air, after that, jack the car up and swap out all 4 wheels and tires, and that's it, you can easily do all this in your driveway in about an hour’s time using some basic hand tools and a floor jack. These AMR wheels have become more and more popular with Mustang owners everywhere, and after seeing them on our own cars here in the shop, it’s easy to see why, so be sure to check out a set for your ride, right here at AmericanMuscle.com

What is TPMS? The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS for short) is a factory installed safety feature on all 2007 and newer Ford Mustangs that alerts you when your tire pressure drops to an unsafe limit.
How do I keep my TPMS feature? Aftermarket wheels do not come with TPMS sensors. However, if you select 'Add TPMS Sensor Kit' and your specific year range from the options listed above, we'll install the TPMS Sensors in your new wheels!

They are hard to clean, but fitment is perfect. There seems to be a coating to repel dirt, but it’s hard to get in the corners and in the wheel well to clean. They are a little heavy and you can kind feel it while driving.Helpful (0)

Not worth it...
I've had these tires for a little less than a year now, they were okay in the summer. On cold days I get zero traction. Even without snow, I get zero traction. They're definitely not good all season tires, for me. They don't work in the rain or snow/cold weather. Also, I hit a tiny pot hole (Michigan) which caused my Rims to dent and two of my tires to get little bumps In them. Not happy with them at all, from now on I'll be choosing a different brand.Helpful (0)

Makes The Car
Took about 4 days to arrive, definitely worth the wait. Car looks so much better. Everything came mounted and balanced. Took about 45 min to take the stock wheels off and put the new ones on. Took the car out right after installing and got a ton of looks. Very happy with them, would absolutely recommend them.Helpful (0)

Rims and tires showed up. Not happy. They are beyond unbalanced. They are scratched. They did not tell me my car had tpms sensors. I'm beyond mad. Dissatisfied once again with AM. I have had multiple issues with them.Helpful (2)

Love these wheels
Got these wheels and 255-45-18 falken azeni 510s put on the other day and I love these new wheels. It changed the look of the car completely. Feels alot more planted now and stable. At 24 pounds each for the wheels and 28 pounds for the tires they are alot lighter than the stock bullitt wheels and all season Goodyear's that were on it.Helpful (0)

Grip 10/10 Looks 10/10
Currently have about 1,500 miles on the AMR wheels and Mickey Thompson street comp tires combo so far they have been amazing. Got a track day in at Laguna Seca with them and they performed flawlessly. Cornered like a beast. They heat up fast, they’re sticky, and they look amazing.Helpful (0)

Great Set of Wheels and Tires!!
Wheels fit perfectly, no interference issues at all. Made a huge improvement in the stance over the stock wheels/tires. These were a 2 over original diameter and way 2.5" wider in front nearly 4" wider out back. Swapped out in less than an hour. Yeah it's my daughter's and its a V-6 but it looks good!!Helpful (0)
What do the 18x9 wheels weigh? I'm looking for a set of autocross specific wheels and "weighing" my options. Thanks
This Black AMR Wheel weighs 24.7 lbs.
While these rub and what is the tire wear? I was wondering if these wheels will rub when turning the wheel since I am getting much bigger wheels and tires? Right now my mustang has the stock 215/65/16 on front and back. Will I have to roll my fenders for the new tires to fit in the back? What is the tred life on the Sumitomo's. I have had the HTR Z III and they were great tires. Thank You
This wheel and tire package is designed with the proper offset and backspacing so there won't be any rubbing or clearance issues after installation! These Sumitomo tires, including the HTR Z III's that you've had previously, have an average tread life of approximately 25,000 miles. Hope this helps!
What kind of material is used these?
These are made of aluminum.
Where is the option to get tire mounted and balanced. Also where are the tpms sensor option I can’t find it
The mount and balance option is located below the price on the right.
Why is there no option to mount tire and rim, free fill with air, and Tpms sensors I talked I don’t see any option
The mount and balance option is located on the right underneath the price.
This kit is currently only available with the 275 tire size.
This kit will fit on your set up yes.
We always think Ceramic Coating is a great idea, as it is a wonderful way to protect your wheels from damage that could occur from everyday driving.
The tire pressure would stay the same as the OEM yes.
The widest we would recommend on the rear with the Ford Performance suspension package would be 285/35/18 tires to give you more clearance you can also run 295 tires. The Max you can fit on the 10" wheels would be 305s. However, you may have some rubbing with the Ford suspension kit. As for the front, we wouldn't recommend going wider than the recommended 255 tire size in this kit. However, you can go up to 265s with the Ford Performance suspension kit you are planning on going with.
These wheels will be compatible with Brembo brakes and will have enough clearance. The OEM lug nuts will work, however, we do recommend purchasing 6 spline lug nuts: https://www.americanmuscle.com/6spline-lugnuts-black-7914.html.
We would recommend either our black Acorn or 6-Spline lug nuts for this wheel.
Nothing special would be needed to install these wheels. The stock lug nuts would work perfectly fine.
From my understanding, this tire/wheel kit includes the 275/40R18 tires for the rear and unfortunately cannot be swapped out for a 305.
tHE AMR Black Wheels will utilize a standard 0.453" diameter valve stem hole.
Simple installation for anyone.
