      Easy install

Don't bother going to an upholstery shop. It was very easy. I used 3m spray for the corners

      Factory quality custom stiching

No instructions but it's very strait forward. You need the ring and base from the original shifter.

      Nice shift boot

This is a nice shift boot, wasn't too difficult to install. Having to cut the slits larger in the leather to get it to fit is understandable and I did not mind having to re-use the existing rubber o-ring and plastic frame. It looks great and functions the way it should, I am interested to see how well it wears. I do think $60 bucks is a bit much for this item and I almost didn't purchase it because of that reason.

      Lacks plastic bezel

Product is sold without the plastic bezel that snaps the boot into place. Should have read reviews before adding to cart. Was unable to cancel/return this item which is disappointing.

This isn't leather, it's a petroleum based fabric.

Upon receiving the boot, I noticed that it rather looked like leather, but it sure didn't feel like it. Upon inspecting the underside of the material I saw a constant lined pattern. This isn't leather - at all, at best it's chemically bonded, laminated, and dyed leather fuzz... For the price of top grain leather. American Muscle has earned my ire for this purchase, $60 for a plastic shift boot is outrageous. I'm just confused as to why no one seems to have noticed this in the comments...

      Looks good but,

For the cost it should have come with the mounting plate. Taking the old one off was a pain in the butt. Then none of the slots in the new boot would line up with mounting plate. Had to cut the slots with a razor knife to get them to at least go on somewhat.

      Looks good

It looks good once it's finally on. On the other hand fit ment was pretty darn tight you almost have to cut a little to get it to fit. Secondly it doesn't say that the original is glued on or that you have to glue the new o e also. Other than that it looks cool.

      New red stitch shift boot

This new shifter boot is amazing. Really ads a slight accent that makes the interior pop quite well. Love it!

Looks great, but the top of the boot doesn't fit inside the shift knob.

      Shift Boot bad leather fit

horrible fit. Leather is too thick. Can't go around the ring. Doesn't snap back into car. Had to buy new OEM boot to replace one I destroyed by trying to install this item. Double $$ loss. They should be selling it already installed on the boot frame, even for more $$.

Looks awesome, had an issue with getting the stock o-ring to fit and doesn't stay on the knob retainer but not a real issue.

      Shift boot

The leather looks really nice with the red stiching to top it off. Install was about 5 min not even. It matches great with my leather seats.

Good Leather, But Mediocre Installation Set-up

The leather on this shift boot is nice and thick, with a good finished. Stitching is clean, straight and strong. This will definitely last longer than the cheap factory vinyl boot. I would say, however, that this boot is over-priced, by about $20 - $30 dollars. It does not include the ring used to attach the boot to the console, so you'll have to (carefully) tear your old vinyl boot off the plastic ring. Make sure not to break any of the clips - they can be brittle. I did purposefully snip off the small corner clips of the plastic ring, and any of the small horizontal clips that did not create a good fit. You'll also need the rubber O-ring that snaps the top of the boot to the shift handle. RECOMMENDATION: I used a small, model-sized tube of Krazy Glue to make a good bond between the leather and the plastic ring. You'll likely have to do this on the corners of the plastic ring, because the corner pieces will likely break off. Krazy Glue works best (bonds skin instantly, good for this leather, bad for you fingers, so be careful). OTHER RECOMMENDATION: Oil this leather or treat it with a conditioner first. It will make getting the rubber O-ring and the plastic ring to fit easier. The supplied metal retaining ring will work with stock shifters only. I have an MGW short throw shifter, so my handle didn't fit the retaining ring. Luckily my older, smaller retaining ring from my old mustang worked.

Looks Great, Tricky to Install, A Little Pricey

The shift boot looks great once you get it on, but installation is a little finicky. You really need to repurpose the rubber ring and plastic frame from the factory boot in order to really get it to fit properly as these aren't supplied, and these are glued in to the original, but they aren't hard to remove, and once you figure out how to make it fit, it goes fairly smoothly. It seems a little expensive for what it is, but it does look really nice once you get it on.

      Black Boot with red stitching

First, the red stitching on black is a nice touch to the black interior of our red mustang. The quality is good. Installation was relatively easy and the boot came with the appropriate nut, so don't order one. Time will reveal the true quality of the material -- but so far so good.

      Great Look, Difficult install

Once the installation is complete, I was extremely happy with the product but it was a tedious install. I would recommend to use automotive goop to allow some time before the glue settles. I had to cut a couple of the slits a little larger to allow them to fit. In the end I really like the red stitching to match the red leather interior

      Leather Shift Boot

Good quality leather boot with nice finish and stitching. Much better than the vinyl boot that came with the car. Be careful prying the plastic retainer frame loose from the console because the tabs that hold it on break easily. The old boot was glued to the frame so I put the new boot on over the old one. You need to use a knife to widen the slits on the boot so it will hook over the tabs on the frame. Trim the corners and glue them down for a nice fit. Fold the top of the boot down inside itself if you don't have a retainer at the top. Allow a few hours since you need to trim and glue the corners plus you may have to glue a tab or two back on the retainer frame like I did.
