    Review & Install Video

Hey I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and I’m checking out MGP’s front and rear caliper covers, fitting all 2005 and newer Mustangs. So here’s the deal, an aftermarket big brake kit is not exactly cheap, and painting your factory calipers can sometimes not give you the results you’re looking for. These covers from MGP are a great way to cover up those ugly factory calipers, while adding a little customization and helping to reduce the brake dust on your wheels. The covers are offered in a red or a black powder coat and with a number of different logo options. We have a couple here on the table including the red GT logo, the complete black Cobra setup, the red running Pony logo, and the black 5.0 logo, just to name a few. Taking a closer look at the calipers you’ll first notice a very durable T6 aluminum construction, along with that powder coated red or black finish. In addition we have the officially licensed logo right in the center, along with some simulated hardware for a more realistic look. The installation really isn’t all that bad and should take you about an hour from start to finish. Of course you will need to remove your wheels just to gain access to the calipers so make sure you have your jack handy. In addition you’re going to want to make sure 3/8” wrench just to tighten up the hardware on the covers themselves, but other than that everything is completely straightforward. So if you’re tired of looking at those rusty factory calipers and you don’t feel like forking out big dough for an aftermarket big brake kit, you’ll want to look into MGP’s caliper covers available right here at AmericanMuscle.com

Custom Styling. Give your Mustang a race-ready, "big brake" look with a set of black Mustang Caliper Covers. Whether you're setting off some aftermarket rims or just adding some custom style, a set of caliper covers will give you a look that's sure to turn heads.

Reduces Brake Dust. These Caliper Covers not only look fantastic, but they act as a dust shield to keep your rims looking cleaner longer.

Quality Construction. MGP makes their Caliper covers from light weight 6061-T6 Aerospace Aluminum that is formed to the caliper for a perfect fit. The covers are then powder coated for a long lasting high gloss look. The installation brackets are TIG welded in place for extra security.

Easy No Mess Install. Painting your calipers can be messy and time consuming, but the MGP Caliper Covers simply install over your stock calipers and are held in place with the supplied clip and bolt. For a no muss, no fuss install.

Application. Designed to fit over stock brakes, this set of four MGP caliper covers include all the required hardware needed for installation on 2010-2014 GT and V6 Mustangs. Does not fit Shelby GT500, BOSS 302 or Brembo equipped GT models.

Technical Note. A minimum of 1/8 of an inch clearance between the wheel and the brake caliper is required for proper fitment. We have found that the MGP caliper covers will require the use of a small 5/16" spacer to provide proper clearance with our aftermarket Bullitt wheels, see drop down option above

what are the wheel spaces for?

    moemoeyo

    • A minimum of 1/8" clearance between the wheel and the brake caliper is required for proper fitment. We've found that these covers require the use of a small 1/4" spacer to provide proper clearance with our aftermarket Bullitt wheels. That is why we have the accessory option drop down. Hope this answers your question!

Do I need spacers for AMR wheels? I am buying the 19x8.5/10 wheels (AMR Black), do I need the spacers for these??

    MGNC2

    • You will not need wheel spacers for the MGP Black Caliper Covers w/ 5.0 Logo - Front & Rear (11-14 GT, V6) when you use them in conjunction with the Staggered AMR Black Wheel & Tire Kit - 19x8.5/10 as the wheels will clear without rubbing.

Will these cause the brakes to overheat?

    ZSGT

    • While I've never put a temperature gauge on them, I can say that I drive pretty aggressively and use the heck out of my brakes and haven't experienced any brake fade. At least not more than I had stock. I've had them for over a year and have had no warping or problems of any kind.

Caliper Covers from 05-09 I recently traded my 09 GT for a 13 GT and took my covers off the 09, will these fit on the 13 GT as well, aren't they the same size? Thanks

    FastEddie09

    • The brakes for a 2005-2010 are a slightly different size than the ones that are on the 2011-2014, the MGP Black Caliper Covers w/ 5.0 Logo - Front & Rear (11-14 GT, V6) will work only for those years and the 2009 MGP Black Caliper Covers will not work on a 2013 GT.

      Not good

Didn’t fit properly and even had one fall off, the clips that hold the covers scrape against the roters every now and then, and even make a terrible scraping sound. Wouldn’t recommend unless you plan on using something to sand the clips down.

      MGP Caliper Covers

I ordered these for my 2012 and love them. Because of the aftermarket rims I have I did have to order some spacers for the rear wheels. I put the two front ones on and they look great.

      Mustang 5.0 caliper covers

Very easy to install and they look great. A little expensive but a great way to dress up you wheel area if you have open wheels and can see the calipers.

      Nice touch

They give a nice finished look. I didn't need the spacers using the Cali Special replica wheels from AM. Easy install. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because there was a paint blemish on the visible side of one of them. Not bad enough to return and corrected the issue myself quickly.

      Hide those stock calipers

If you are even considering these just go ahead and buy them. They give the car the look of brembos without spending $2000. I had recently purchased aftermarket wheels and I had to have these. They installed very easily, litterally 2 mins each, once the wheels are off. Slip on the clip, adjust clearence using the provided shim, put the cover on the clip and tighten the nuts. I saw other reviews complain about the price. If it makes you feel any better, I paid $360 canadian all said and done, and im happy with every dollar spent. Plus it was at my door in 3 days. Another great product from AM.

THE CALIPER COVERS MAY HAVE LOOKED GOOD, BUT, THE REAR COVERS KEPT LOOSENING UP AND RUB AGAINST THE ROTORS. HAD TO RETURN THEM.

      ULTIMATELY REMOVED

I bought these a while back and installed on my 2013 GT convertible. Yes, they looked good, but after a short while I noticed a constant 'clicking' noise whenever I steered left, especially in a parking garage or close to a jersey barrier, where the echo allowed me to clearly hear it. I did everything possible to adjust the left read cover. For whatever reason, neither I or my local shop could adjust it to the point where there was no rubbing against the wheel. And the chirping noise eventually drove me nuts. So, I finally removed the cover and did what I should have done in the first place: I painted the calipers. Since I have a deep impact blue car, I went with bright yellow paint, and I love that look. The caliper covers are okay, but pretty expensive, and the mounting hardware is not all that great. Overall, clearly I am not happy with this product, nor happy with the now wasted money...

      Looks great, be careful

Look great! Proud of the look. went in OK. Be careful! The tabs that hold on the cover needed to be bent in slightly (twice) during install. One cover rubbed against the back of the wheel. All in all they do look cool! A bit on the pricey side.

      Black Caliper Covers

Nice looking and easy install, but too expensive for what you get. Bought them as Christmas gift for my son so that is why I was willing to spend more. Otherwise, I say they are worth $50.00 at the most.

      Great Fit, Great Look!

They fit great, and look even better! My only suggestion would be to have colors available to match the body color. If they could be ordered specific to body color of the car would be great! Otherwise worth the $$$.

Black caliper covers with Mustang & 5.0 logo.

The installation is pretty straight forward, but some adjustments were needed to get the caliper covers to fit. It was more work to get the car off the ground & the wheels off than it was to install the covers . . . Nice finish and Worth the effort.

      Caliper Covers Look Great!

Installation tricky , i installed between wheel spokes , left tires on car. Fronts a little difficult , about 15 minutes per wheel , rears are easier to install , smaller parts , 10 minutes per wheel. Removing four wheels would take too long , but install would be simple. But you only install once . you admire covers -Forever. They Look Great!
