    Detroit Locker Differential. Is your stock rear end leaving you stuck in the lurch? Then you need to upgrade to a Eaton 8.8in 31 Spline Detroit Locker Differential from AmericanMuscle. A Detroit Locker Differential sometimes referred to as a "Detroit No Spin" or "Detroit Soft Locker" provides 100% of the torque to both rear wheels so you can put all the power to the pavement giving you improved traction and more impressive burnouts.

    Speed Sensitive. Eaton designed the Detroit Locker to keep both wheels in constant drive mode, but engineered in a wheel speed sensitive mechanism that has the ability to automatically allow wheel speed differentiation when required for turning and uneven road surfaces.

    Heavy Duty. This Eaton Detroit Locker Differential features a solid cast iron casing construction with a spring loaded pack and race-bred carbon fiber clutch packs. This helps the Eaton Locker deliver the highest performance even under stressful driving conditions. This Detroit Locker is virtually bullet proof and is exactly what you would expect from a name with a heritage like Eaton.

    Application. This Eaton 8.8in Detroit Locker Differential is designed to fit both solid axle suspensions equipped V8 Mustangs from 1986 to 2014 and 2011 to 2014 V6 Mustangs. Requires 31 spline axles. (Will

    not fit the 1999-2004 Cobra and 2013-2014 GT500).

    Application Note. 1986-2004 V8 Mustangs came factory equipped with 28 spline axles, except for 2003-2004 SVT Cobras which were 31 spline. All 2005 and newer V8 Mustangs come equipped with 31 spline axles.

    Technical Note. You will need to reuse your factory 8.8" gear set, or upgrade to a set of our 8.8" rear gears required for this Detroit Locker Differential. No aftermarket gears are included. For normal driving conditions we recommend you use 75W 90 rear gear oil. This will give you the same oil weight as factory. For colder temps or race use try 75w 140.

            Your best friend on stright line

            The detroit locker is good LSD for track and strip, though it is possible drive it in street with ever turn you make it pops and bangs if you make turn tight with wide turn you minimize pop and bang but it be there. This lsd not for cruise or daily car it out for maximum performance and ruggedness well worth money.

            I bought the car with Detroit lockers installed already from previous owner. At first I wasn't too sure about all the noise. Most reviews said it's noisy when shifting. My question is when driving shouldn't be making rattling noise? I can hear the gears rattling when driving. Maybe I don't have enough gear oil, not sure.

            Bullet Proof

            i drift my stang and this is hands down an amazing locker. so the good.... its super tough, super easy install, looks amazing, now to the bad... its super loud and clunky, when putting it into gear there is a huge clunk noise and there is a a half rotation of free spin before it engages. meaning when the can is up on a lift and you spin both wheels it will take half a turn until it engages and you see the driveshaft spin.. but other then that omg drifting its amazing with it. they are not joking when they say OFF ROAD USE ONLY!!!!

            Very positive

            Very positive rear differential, when it locks you know it. Does make noise when shifting, clunks when locking in and such. Can get a little jerky in parking lots in tight corners at slow speeds. Very heavy duty. Made my car have wheel hop, but just need some upgraded lca's. I STATE AGAIN VERY POSITIVE! You want no noise and a cruiser this is not for you. You want a rear end that will hold up and not slip, this is the one for you, just have to deal with a little bit of noise. All in all does what it needs to do.
