Will this work on the 2018 ecoboost mustang, now that they have overboost?

        • Ford Performance has only confirmed this Cold Air Intake w/ ProCal Voucher for the 2015-2017 Ecoboost Mustangs, so it will not work with the 2018 units.

Should I upgrade my intercooler with the purchase of this kit also?

        • The Ford Performance Cold Air Intake w/ ProCal Voucher does not require the need to upgrade your intercooler. However, upgrading the intercooler is not a bad option especially to keep those internal temperatures down which will create easy power.

I am ready to pull the trigger on this for my 2017 Ecoboost, especially since my local Ford Parts dealer tells me there are no readily available Ford Factory Performance kits for my Ecoboost. I am confused about the voucher. Do I need to buy a tuner to complete this installation? Or will the Ford Tech at the dealership be able to reprogram my ECU with the coupon? Thank you!

        • The Ford Tech at your dealership will be able to do the reprogramming for you!

            Quick and fast first mod

Definitely feel a difference, it does come with extra parts and the instructions do not really explain that, but it was an easy install! Downloading the application on my laptop was quick. It does suck that both of these may have to ve replaces as i mod more of the car though, but this was a great start.

            Eco boost booster

I was thinking about this install for two years before doing it. If you own an ecoboost mustang you will not be disapointed. Feels like a new car, should have done it sooner. I use 94 octane and the car is on another level now.

            Ecoboost Performance Pak

I purchased this product based on reviews. I've always enjoyed over achieving small engines starting with my '66 Tempest with the OHC 6 and Sprint package. I previously owned an '88 Tbird Turbo Coupe when Ford first approached turbocharging and enjoyed the torque characteristics that come with the boosting. My 2015 Ecoboosted Mustang Premium with Ford's factory option Performance package has carried on the tradition of power and economy. This kit takes a very good package up several notches. It's not a GT or a Bullitt or a Shelby BUT it's certainly no longer an Ecoboost. A great value for the money. Taking my time, I spent about 1.5 hours installing the cold-air intake then spent $140 at Ford for the ECU reflash. Total cost including part is about $750 for the advertised HP gains-a bargain.

            Must-do upgrade

The install was very easy, took less than 15 minutes to swap the intake, the ProCal tune took around 10 minutes. The changes were immediately noticeable. It’s worth noting that I have run the car on 93 octane from the day I purchased it, so there was no octane for the tune to adjust to. The car pulls hard all the way to redline now and torque down low is much stronger than before. This is honestly how the car should have come from the factory.

This is how Ford should have sold the car

This really woke the car up. In tuned normal mode it is like stock in sport mode. In tuned sport it is a lot more alive. It holds the gears longer (i.e. shifts less), the boost is more consistent and the shifts are a lot stronger.

            Really improves car

Product makes driving the car very fun with the increased torque and top end power. This is the first modification on my car. My 0-60 before the modification was 5.4s, after it has dropped to 5.0s and with better tires I could probably get lower. This was on premium trim not performance pack.

            Good, not great.

Fitment was not on point. You can definatly tell that it was not made for the EcoBoost. Directions were not great but the I stall was so easy that it didnt really matter. Took me about 2 hours total mainly because I have bad tools.

            A great improvement

The ecoboost (stock) leaves a little to be desired. However this tune makes a great difference, much more responsive and much faster of a car. Fuel consumption remains the same. The only downside is that this tune does take to 'kick in'; you'll need to drive a good 200-300km to get it fully dialed in! Also, the rubber lip on the open air intake is very flimsy, worth finding a fix so it bends the right way.

            First Mod

Chose to make this my first mod based on the great reviews. Paid $250 to have dealership install to maintain warranty (certified pre-owned). Took dealer 3 hours to install and run tune. I’m satisfied with this mod but I now think I may have been better off keeping the stock intake and purchasing a tune instead.
