    GT500 Original Equipment. This Ford Racing Finned Differential Cover is the same exact one found as original equipment on the 2013 Shelby GT500 with the Track Pack option. Designed with cooling fins to reduce overall gear oil temperature to improve gear and bearing life, this Differential Cover features fittings for differential cooler pickup and return lines, as well as an oil temperature sensor.

    Finned Aluminum Reduces Heat. Constructed from light-weight cast aluminum the Ford Racing Mustang 8.8" Differential Cover features a finned design that dissipates heat much faster than the factory unit to prolong the life of your ring and pinion gears.

    Recommended Upgrade. When changing your differential cover it is recommended to upgrade to fresh Royal Purple Synthetic Gear Oil. You will need 3 quarts of Gear Oil.

    Application. This Finned Ford Racing Differential Cover is designed to fit the 1986-2014 Mustangs equipped with the 8.8" solid axle rear end, including the 2011-2014 V6, 1986-2014 GT, Bullitt, Mach 1, BOSS, Shelby GT500 and 1993-1998 SVT Cobra. It will not fit 1999-2004 Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) equipped SVT Cobras.

    Does this cover come complete with all the gasket that is required for installment? How much fluid do I need to refill the differential?

    • This cover does not come with the gasket and it will need 3 quarts of Royal Purple Synthetic gear oil.

    Does it come with a axle vent plug? or does it use the stock axle vent as well.

    • This does come with a plug for the vent on the cover as the stock axle vent will still be used.

    I have a Whiteline adjustable panhard bar on my 2009 GT. do I need a relocation bracket to clear the finned diff cover?

    • You will not need a relocation bracket for the Whiteline adjustable panhard bar to clear the finned diff cover.

      Much nicer than stock

      Looks way better than the stock cover, and should keep the fluid cooler. This cover does come with new bolts and drain a fill plugs which will make future maintenance much easier.

      Big differance

      I enter my car in shows, look wise it is great, and using the old touch test it is cooler, so therefore has to be doing something good. Install was simple however you must remove the panrod bar. Just remember once you remove the pan-rod bar bolts, the only way you are getting that bar out is to lower the car back to the ground, it will come right out. Jack it back up and put the cover on, lower it and install the bar. I have a lift so it was not all that bad

      Easier to change fluid

      This diff cover certainly looks better, and does keep the fluid cooler, and absolutely makes fluid changes much much easier. However, at a road-course HPDE in a car with only partial bolt-ons I am still heating the diff fluid enough to spit out of the overflow valve, so the cooling power isnt exactly mind blowing, but seemingly enough to keep the diff from cooking completely, so money well spent.

      Great Fix for axle leak

      Got this for my 2011 GT because I was having oil leak from the axle vent tube. I replaced the vent tube first with Ford OEM part and still had the drips on the garage floor. Installed this cover because it has the fins to keep it cooler and it worked. No more oil drips. FYI you will have to drop the panhard bar in order to install new one. And be sure to get the longer bolts that are suggested with this, stock bolts are too short. Great product, looks great, and it works for leaks.

      Good for the money

      I was experiencing some high temps and accelerated wear in my factory rear end under occasional track conditions. This finned diff is exactly what should have always come standard on any of the GT and up mustang models, and seems to have helped keep the temps a bit more under control.

      Ford Racing Finned Differential Cover

      Cools the Fluid and Looks Great

      I installed this Finned Rear Diff Cover, along with a New Diff. Installation went as smooth as silk. Everything I needed was in the box. Before I installed the Diff I did a temperature check. After installation there was a noticeable drop in the Syn Oil temperature. I would highly recommend this product.

      This product is better than stock!!!

      It has the fittings to run a diff cooler. I will be installing it at a later date. I bought the entire 8.8 diff for my 07 GT. I LOVE THE WHOLE SET UP!!! For me it was like flipping a switch. Also the diff cover looks great.... Way better than stock!!!!

      A great finishing touch to any rear end rebuild!

      You can't go wrong with Ford Racing quality and fitment. This differential cover is a great looking and functional upgrade to add to a gear swap project. The finned design will help dissipate heat for better gear life and the fill/drain plugs will allow for easier gear oil changes in the future. If you're spending the time and money to swap your gears go ahead and swap out the stock diff cover too, it's worth it for the looks alone. I’m very happy that I picked one up when I went to 4.10 gears.

      Nice track upgrade features

      Simple bolt up to rear, I had dealership do it when they serviced the rear. Other wise can be installed by yourself with a socket and gear oil (dont forget the ford rear friction reducer!). It is setup if doing track runs to upgrade to a rear differential cooler at a later time. I like it as holds more fluid then stock GT cover. Also has cooling fins so you know fluid will stay cooler to help rear end parts to have a longer life.

      Great fit, quality product

      Purchased this as it was time to change the rear axle fluid on my 2008 Bullitt (60k miles, very dirty fluid). I figured I would change out the cover to make future changes easier, as the standard cover does not have a drain plug. The cover is made very well, and has magnetic bolts on the "fill" and "drain" plugs. They are not exactly meant for Fill and drain, I think they are more meant for the optional GT-500 diff cooler, but they could work as such. The supplied hardware fit perfect, and had some loctite reapplied. One note about the install, the panhard bar did have to be removed to fit the cover on. I would suggest taking out the panhard bar first thing, it will give you more room to work during the rest of the process. the stock panhard bar will fit back in place once the cover is on with plenty of room, but it had to be removed first. not a big deal as it takes very little time. All in all pleased, and if the fins do help cooling thats just an added bonus.
