      Improve Pedal Feel. Get rid of that sloppy clutch pedal feeling with a Ford Performance Firewall Cable Adjuster. This Firewall Adjuster will allow you to remove the slack from your 1979 to 2004 Mustangs clutch cable.

      Easily Adjustable. This Ford Performance firewall mounted clutch adjuster lets you adjust clutch engagement without having to crawl under the car. Just turn the adjuster knob on the firewall and you're done. It also eliminates the rubber bushing at the engine compartment bulkhead for more precise clutch action.

        Fits with stock cable

        This worked just how I expected and install was easy took maybe 30 mins great product also can be used with stock cable witch I was afraid it wouldn’t instruction were pretty straight forward

        5 2004 GT - LTHL281 Installation Time: Afternoon

        Beautiful upgrade, just do it!

        So I had installed a new exede stage 2 clutch with the lightweight flywheel, and ford racing TOB and pilot bearing due to the stock TOB failing. Its worked great for a while, but I started to have inconsistent clutch engagement. The pedal had slack in it allowing it to vibrate and also for a few days, the cable felt like it was in a bind. Plus,i now had the infamous TOB chirping sound. So I knew it was time to replace the factory quadrant. I had an old steeda double hook from years ago that I never used. I coupled that with a new factory cable and this firewall adjuster. Let me tell you, this setup is flat out amazing. Install is pretty straight forward. I recommend threading the new self tapping firewall screws in FIRST before trying to install the adjuster. I dropped the bottom screw and it landed in the heat shield of my converter. Very hard to find. And it seems that a lot of people are doing the same thing, so do yourself a favor and thread them in first. Clutch engagement is the same, every shift now. And the shifts are like butter (also running the MGW shifter with the race handle) I couldn't be happier with the results. No more chirping either.

        Great mod to do whilst replacing your clutch. I did all Ford racing components minus the clutch for this.

        5 2004 GT - BlackStallion Installation Time: Afternoon

        Pretty Convenient

        It was pretty easy to install. I definitely recommend replacing your clutch cable and quadrant though with this, and if you do, don't skimp and buy a cheap one, go for the Ford Performance! I recommend putting some grease on the threads though. I didn't and now i have to use channel locks to adjust it. Just remember, counter clockwise tightens the cable, and clockwise loosens it.

        Highly recommended

        So far so good. I had a local shop install the clutch cable, the quadrant and the firewall adjuster. They are old school so they left about 1" of free play in the pedal. I took out that play with the firewall adjuster very easily. I really needed to replace the 185,000 mile original cable and quadrant. This really improves my Mustang driving experience!

        5 2003 GT - YaboiOmar Installation Time: Afternoon

        Bought as a kit

        My clutch cable kept breaking tons of times, so I decided to buy this along with a clutch quadrant and clutch cable. Much easier to push the clutch and with everything installed, the clutch should last for a very long time when installed correctly. Buy this along with the other items so you won't have to worry about anything else going bad.

        4 1996 GT - TS Installation Time: Afternoon

        mixed emotions

        I like the fact I can now adjust my clutch at the firewall. But where the locking nut is located, makes it very hard to screw in or out while on a test drive, without burning yourself on the hot valve cover....at least in an SN95 with a 410 stroker motor.

      So I had one of the self tapping screws fall into my heat shield down by the exhaust. So I lost it. I was wondering where I could get a replacement screw?

      So if I buy the M-7553-D302 Adjustable Cable Kit with this item will I be able to set up the adjustable cable so that this firewall adjuster is somewhere 'in the middle' allowing me more flexibility? Or should I just get a stock replacement OEM cable with Ford Performance Quadrant?

      • The addition of the Ford Performance Firewall Cable Adjuster will allow fine tuning of the clutch adjustment once the cable's baseline is set when used with the Ford Performance Adjustable Clutch Cable And Quadrant or other similar kits.

      I lost the small locking screw for the adjuster, how important is it and where can I get a new one?
