Maybe nobody is very concerned about the impact on mph but it could be an issue. Will the Power Pack 2 change the mph? Even if there is no lead foot syndrome ?

    terryf

    • When using the Ford Performance Power Pack 2 or other tuners, mpg will see a slight increase under normal driving conditions. Typically the gains are <1mpg.

Will this affect the sound of my mustang ?

    EdmundT

    • Installing this power pack will have affect on the sound of the vehicle. Everything should set itself once the car is driven around 100 or so miles fro the computer to relearn with the new throttle body and intake.

      Power pack 2

Install was very east well built and thought out. Download to the computer went well also. As far as performance there is a noticeable increase but I did expect a little more. Maybe I am too picky.

      Great Bang for the Buck!

What are you waiting for? Great deal for a tune/throttle body/air intake! Easy instructions included along with plenty of online videos. I'm a do it yourself guy, but definitely not a mechanic and it took about 3 hours (sound tube) :( to complete. 2017s do not require the cutting of any tubes like the 15/16s. A Dremel is a must to trim the engine cover if you plan on putting it back on. Gains are real and can be felt over 4000 RPMs. I would highly recommend this product to any Mustang fan out there.

      Increased throttle response, added power

Bought this kit, because it seemed like a decent power gain, for the price. Install was a breeze minus a firewall nut that had to be removed, have someone with small arms and hands to help you out here. Throttle response was very evident. The air flow going into the manifold was definitely quicker. Tune was easy as well. CEL came on with a P0315 and a quick call to the Ford Performance help techs cleared the code as it's just a self learning issue. I love this upgrade and would recommend it to anyone.

      Great little boost in power

For what you get in this package the price is awesome. I had it installed by a local performance shop (which will still maintain your warranty as long as they're ASE certified); cost me $250 and they had the car for one afternoon. The performance improvement is definitely noticeable, but not incredible. That's not to say I'm unhappy with the purchase though. Since installing the kit I've dropped 2 tenths in my 0-60 time, and I'm now running 4.6 on the street (manual transmission, ps4s tires, 3.31 final drive), whereas I was unable to achieve anything less than a 4.8 prior. I definitely think the kit is worth a purchase, especially at the awesome price that American Muscle provides.

      Power gains with warranty!

This kit is for those of us who like a warranty (or shelled out for an extended warranty), and want more than the clunky tune the car comes with from the factory. Had mine dealer installed, the combined total for parts and install was just under $1000 and they gave me my original pcm calibration back to me on a flash drive. The car now has way more power absolutely everywhere. Mid range pull? Better make sure you are awake! Passing on the highway? No need to downshift! Even gives more mpg (not that I bought it for that reason). This is a great no worries easy kit for any owner from the people who make the car. Yes it requires trimming to the engine cover and yes that’s annoying, but for power gains with a warranty, it’s hard to argue with the results. Don’t care about warranty? It’s still a good value kit that can be paired with an aftermarket tune. I would buy this again in a heartbeat.

      Takes in All the Air

The performance pack is well worth the bang for the buck. Hardest part of install was getting vacuum hoses rerouted but the pictures gives a good indication of what goes where. PAY ATTENTION to instructions on tuning the car, clear codes before uploading tune even if CEL is not on. Had no issue but seeing as failure can lead to you're car not running, don't chance it. Torque increase is felt immediately. Car just responds quicker. Did notice oil smell from underhood after running it, still no clear answer for it, my guess is the pcv valve since the air housing is no longer enclosed

Easy to install, and very easy to Tune. Instant throttle response! Why didn't this come factory? You can hear that intake when you accelerate and it has a very nice tone. LOVE it! No problems after 1k miles

      Good power for the money

Eventually planning to supercharge the car so didn't want to spend too much on intake tune. This offered good seat of the pants acceleration for low $$$ and the exhaust note sounds a little meaner (I already had a MBRP catback on), some burbles and pops on deceleration.

      KEEP YOUR WARRANTY!

I did not pay for extended warranty for nothing. Glad these packs maintain my warranty with two exceptions; product must be bought by Ford Performance parts dealer and the product must be installed by Ford dealer. $212.50 and two hours later the throttle response is amazing! The exhaust note is so different even at idle. Worth the cost to maintain warranty hands down!

Torque increase at lower RPM's very noticable

Cabin is a bit quieter, maybe only a tonal change. Lower RPM torque is felt immediately. Car is much more responsive. Feels like more was added than advertised. Very pleased with this purchase. Transforms the car.

Why did I wait so long for this mod!?

If you are on the fence about Power Pack 2, get off the fence. This mod is well worth the money. My car is a totally different car since I installed PP2, and I mean in a GOOD way. The throttle response is instant. The exhaust not is deeper and there are burbles and pops in 1st and 2nd that were not there previously with my Borla Sport axle backs. 7200 red line and the no lift shift, OMG!!! Happy Happy Happy...

      Proof is in the numbers.

My 2015 mustang gt was bone stock 0-60 times 5.1-5.3. Installed the stage2 package was running 4.7-5.0. Car wouldn't stick on stock 265 pirellis Changed tires to 285's in the rear nitto gt2s are great and consistent times are 4.5-4.6. If you do the muffler delete with x pipes the car will perform much better with the package. Your neighbors will not like you. Lol. Running 4.2-4.3's now. Car is much more responsive breathes so much better. The 4.4 0-60 times ford claims the car does stock is way off! You will gain up to a half a second 0-60 and more then that on quarter mile time. Dealer installed for 250 bucks took 3 hours. warranty is still good. For 1000 bucks well worth the money

      Awesome!

This is a great package! The install was straightforward and only took a couple hours. The throttle response is improved along with the everyday drivability. The improvements in the lower rpm range are easily felt while driving. The no-lift-shift is a lot of fun when running to redline. The only negative is that gas prices are jumping up!

      Great Inverstment!

Here are some of my impressions of the fpp2. First of all, I read numerous reviews from many sites, and I hope to answer some of the questions that I had not answered by other reviewers. As for performance, yes you can tell a difference, throttle response is much better(normal mode) feels like sport mode. Sport mode feels about the same. Now, something that I did notice and not sure why, but my car shifts are smoother and not as notchy. Sound does change. I have the Roush axel-back installed, and my interior sound with removing sound tube is not as loud. I think it sounds better, more natural. I did notice that it does idle different not bad, but more like it is adjusting every couple of seconds. Also got installed at ford dealership, they charged 3hrs labor with was $387. I thought a little expensive. Using the dealership I had some confusion regarding the tune and the laptop, because if they use there laptop you don't get a saved copy of the PC3 procal file of your original factory tune. So I had them transfer my file to a thumb drive. Very happy with this install.

      Beware

I installed the throttle body and cold air intake and filter with no problems (followed instructions). Then I downloaded and installed the tune. This is where it sucks because there are NO STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS on how to install it. Because it comes with no instructions I had a problem with it. Check engine light stays on and I got NO HELP FROM AMERICAN MUSCLE OR FORD RACING. Dealerships don’t want to touch it. I’m on my own. Was told I would have to get a new computer for the car.

      Love it, but....

The power increase is great. I would have given it 5 stars but in all honesty it could be better as far as the actual cold air intake tube goes... the vacuum nipple on the top of the tube hits the engine cover so you have to cut the engine cover to fit. Which looks terrible no matter how you cut it. It should have been thought out a little better if Ford is going to share parts from the GT350. I would have probably bought a different cold air intake had I known this. However the low end torque makes the Mustang what it should have been from the factory.
