Improves Handling. Installing a set of progressive rate Ford Racing Springs will lower your GT500's center of gravity, which will reduce squat during acceleration, body roll in the corners, and excessive nose-dive under hard braking. Ford Racing Lowering Springs are great for daily driving, street, and even occasional track use.

Aggressive Stance. The Ford Racing Springs not only improve the handling of your Shelby GT500 Mustang, but they also improve the overall appearance by lowering the ride height approximately 1.25" to eliminate that nasty raised 4x4 truck look for a more aggressive muscle car stance.

Recommended Upgrades. Mustang Jounce Bumper Kit (M-5570-A) is recommended for installation of these springs. It is also recommended to install a damper kit (M-18000-C) and anti-roll bar kit (M-5490-B) for even better ride and handling.

Clears Stock and Aftermarket Wheels & Tires. These lowering springs were engineered to be compatible with your stock size wheels and tires, as well as AmericanMuscle's pre-configured wheel and tire combo kits (specific to your generation), to assure proper clearance with no rubbing issues.

Application. This set of four Ford Racing Springs are specifically designed for use on the 2007 to 2014 Shelby GT500 Mustang Coupes.

    Ask a Question

Will these fit 2011 GT500 with SVTPP

    • The Ford Performance Lowering Springs - Coupe (07-14 GT500) will work with your 2011 GT500 with the SVT performance pack.

Will these work on 2009 gt500 convertible?

    • Unfortunately, these springs are meant for a GT500 couple. Convertibles are heavier than a coupe, so the springs would need to have a higher spring rate to support the extra weight of the vehicle.

Is a adjustable pan hard bar required with these springs?

    • An adjustable panhard bar is not required for the installation of the Ford Performance Lowering Springs. If you have any other questions feel free to call or chat in with one of our mustang experts.

I am running with the SVTPP, What kind of drop could I expect with these springs over the SVTPP?

    • The Ford Performance Lowering Springs will feature a slightly lower drop compared to the springs on the SVTPP.

Will these fit a 2014 Mustang GT with the track pack?

    • No, these springs are rated for the much heavier 5.4 and 5.8 supercharged engines in the GT500s and will not ride properly on the GT

hidden surprises?? Are there any hidden surprises with installing these springs? Does one need any other additional suspension work or add ons? I've read that a adjustable panhard bar is needed for the rear.... that the geometry of the front end is changed making it very hard to get the front end aligned. Any truth to any of this? Thanks

    • There won't be any hidden surprises when installing these Lowering Springs on your GT500. We do highly recommend purchasing the FR Jounce Bumper Kit as well to ensure a comfortable ride along with your new drop. Hope this helps!

FRPP lowering springs for me 07 GT500

Bought these FRPP lowering springs along with the matching FRPP snubbers and Eibach camber bolts. Installed without a hitch, along with the required alignment, at my favorite alignment shop for only $250 (not worth doing the work myself for that price). I wanted them mostly for the improved looks, and accomplished all that I wanted. With no appreciable reduction in ride quality.

Good springs at a good price

Installation was easy, lowered car 1 3/4 read and 1 1/2 front for the perfect look. Ride quality is better than stock just a little firmer but not hard.

      Level Ride now

The install is typical of any brand spring install. If you have a spring compressor you can do the front springs yourself if not you will need to take the springs and struts down and have the springs installed on the struts. The ride height I think is perfect it makes the car level. I don't think the front drop is as much as is stated due to the new lighter motor in the 2011-2012 model. The ride is not much harsher and the lower center of gravity improves handling.

I only installed the rear springs to fix the 4x4 look... Rides better then i thought it would, almost as smooth as stock. Great look, ford should have put them on the gt500.

      gt 500 springs

Great addition to my Shelby. Lowered the car enough to get rid of the 4x4 look, but maintained enough travel it doesn't bottom out. Excellent spring set, especially if you enjoy triple digit driving. Add the bumper kit when installing lowering springs and new panhard bar to keep the rear in alignment.

Much better stance and better handling. For such a simple upgrade, it made noticeable improvements.

      level ride

The front of my Shelby was low enough, with only 5" of clearance, so I installed only the rear springs to drop the rear end 1". It leveled the car perfectly with only a very slight rake. Most of those who see it think the entire car was lowered. It looks awesome! To bad no one makes a rear spring kit for Shelbys, as that's really all they need and would save a little cash. But, in hindsight, it was well worth it.

      Great upgrade

This is my first experience lowing a car, so I really didn't know what to expect beside a 'better look'. I was surprised how much lower the car feels when getting into it and when driving It took a few rides to get used to that. I'm very happy that the view out the front window since the front end sits lower than before and the car seems to be better balanced. I think the ride quality is great. I was expecting a harsher ride, that was not the case. The car seems more responsive and balanced. Reducing the wheel gap is a nice change for the look. $300 to install at dealership.

      Ford Racing lowering springs.

I decided to have my local Ford dealership install my Ford Racing springs. Having Ford factory trained personnel to do the install includes a warranty. If it's done by yourself and a friend it may cost less, but I just choose to minimize the unforeseen issues. I love the my new springs....a.better ride, especially at highway speeds, and they make my Shelby look ever better than it did straight from the factory and I didn't think that was possibly.

Lowered the vehicle but still maintained the all important stance with a forward rake. Installed with Ford Performance Struts, Shocks and Maximum Motorsports Caster/Camber plates. Very noticeable handling and stance improvement.

The Ford racing lowering springs look great and give my car the stance i was looking for. Shop installed in 2 hours and had an alignment after to make sure the ride would be right. I'm pleased and would recommend these to anyone with a GT500

      08 GT500 Lowering

I used these spring on my stock struts and shocks and did they make a diffrence, since I lowered the car it looks even more stunning than before, but you will notice a rougher ride quality (as expected) The install was very easy, and all i needed was a impact gun and a spring compression kit that I got for 20 bucks at harbor freight. The only thing that I needed to do was get new strut mounts, not that the stock ones didn't work on my car, but it made a very annoying clunking sound, so I purchased the Ford Racing strut mounts and that completely fixed my issue, It is worth lowering it the 1.25 all around, I could have went a little lower, but I personally LOVE the look, and its a GREAT bang for your buck!

These springs lowered my 14 GT500 to give it the perfect stance. Before there was too much wheel gap, especially in the back. This corrected it perfectly.

I have a 2007 GT500 and these springs are the perfect balance between better handing and ride quality. The ride is a little stiffer but not harsh. The car feels night and day different in the corners
