Improves Handling. Installing a set of progressive rate Ford Racing Springs will lower your GT500's center of gravity, which will reduce squat during acceleration, body roll in the corners, and excessive nose-dive under hard braking. Ford Racing Lowering Springs are great for daily driving, street, and even occasional track use.

Aggressive Stance. The Ford Racing Springs not only improve the handling of your Shelby GT500 Mustang, but they also improve the overall appearance by lowering the ride height approximately 1.25" to eliminate that nasty raised 4x4 truck look for a more aggressive muscle car stance.

Recommended Upgrades. Mustang Jounce Bumper Kit (M-5570-A) is recommended for installation of these springs. It is also recommended to install a damper kit (M-18000-C) and anti-roll bar kit (M-5490-B) for even better ride and handling.

Clears Stock and Aftermarket Wheels & Tires. These lowering springs were engineered to be compatible with your stock size wheels and tires, as well as AmericanMuscle's pre-configured wheel and tire combo kits (specific to your generation), to assure proper clearance with no rubbing issues.

Application. This set of four Ford Racing Springs are specifically designed for use on the 2007 to 2014 Shelby GT500 Mustang Coupes.

    5 Top Rated Questions

Will these work on 2009 gt500 convertible?

    • Unfortunately, these springs are meant for a GT500 couple. Convertibles are heavier than a coupe, so the springs would need to have a higher spring rate to support the extra weight of the vehicle.

Is a adjustable pan hard bar required with these springs?

    • An adjustable panhard bar is not required for the installation of the Ford Performance Lowering Springs. If you have any other questions feel free to call or chat in with one of our mustang experts.

I just want to replace the original springs and place Ford's performance. Is it necessary to change the original shock absorbers?

    • The Ford Performance Lowering Springs can be installed with the OEM shocks and struts, however the stock shocks and struts tend to have decreased longevity when used at a lowered ride height.

hidden surprises?? Are there any hidden surprises with installing these springs? Does one need any other additional suspension work or add ons? I've read that a adjustable panhard bar is needed for the rear.... that the geometry of the front end is changed making it very hard to get the front end aligned. Any truth to any of this? Better stance and handling

I bought my 2009 GT500 used with a set of coil overs on it. It sat too low, scrapped on speed bumps and transitions from the street to parking lots, the tank covers at gas stations etc, and rode like a shopping cart. I added these springs, new Koni shocks and struts, as well as a set of the upgraded 2013/14 front strut mounts. It improved the ride quality and handling immensely.

      Look great

Ride height looks perfect for the GT500. Replaced Eibach Sportline springs that were actually too low, and riding on the bump stops

      Excellent springs for 2010 gt500

Great springs, excellent ride quality. 1.25" drop was exactly what I wanted. Springs were not numbered as ford parts so I kind of wonder if these are actual oem ford performance....but they deliver what I needed.

      No more 4-4

With the svt pack the front drop about 1/2 inch and the rear 3/4 inch, a little stuffer ride then stock but much better handling.

      Lowering springs

Great product, great stance. Wish it was a little smoother but that’s what you get for lowering a car.

      A Great Choice!!

Love the springs!! They lower the car approx 1” as of having them installed for 2 weeks. Still waiting for them to “set” and drop the last 0.25”. They ride better than the stock springs on my 2010 GT500. Don’t forget to purchase/install an adjustable panhard bar!! I would do it again!!

      Great Spring

Perfect level stance and eliminates nearly all of the factory wheel gap while also improving steering response. Great product.

      Perfect

I recently put new tires on my GT500 that had a little less sidewall. Did not want the extra wheel well gap, but didn't want it super lowered. These springs were the perfect answer. They brought it down about half an inch in the front and about one inch in the back. I am very happy how it looks but gave up very little in ride quality. Only on really rough bumps do you notice a difference from stock.

      Perfect Stance and ride

Shopped around for a while before deciding on the Ford Performance springs, and I'm super happy with the way they look and ride! Total drop for me after driving around and letting them settle was 1 inch in the front and 1.5 inches in the rear. It doesn't sound lime much but it was the perfect amount to get a good look and the car still rides great! Perfect for a daily driver car that you don't want super harsh. The install was straightforward just like the videos. Just have the right tools and it goes easy. I rented a spring compressor from the auto parts store and used a jack and jackstands. Take your time and double check yourself and it should take 4-5 hours. Another great product from AM!

Very minimal drop on my 14 GT500

Decided to go with these springs instead of Eibach. A mistake! There is very little change in the front and 3/4 to inch in the back. I would not recommend these on a 13/14 Shelby. They worked well on my 12 but not completely satisfied

Lowered the vehicle but still maintained the all important stance with a forward rake. Installed with Ford Performance Struts, Shocks and Maximum Motorsports Caster/Camber plates. Very noticeable handling and stance improvement.

I only installed the rear springs to fix the 4x4 look... Rides better then i thought it would, almost as smooth as stock. Great look, ford should have put them on the gt500.

      Lowered but not too low.

The Ford racing lowering springs look great and give my car the stance i was looking for. Shop installed in 2 hours and had an alignment after to make sure the ride would be right. I'm pleased and would recommend these to anyone with a GT500

      gt 500 springs

Great addition to my Shelby. Lowered the car enough to get rid of the 4x4 look, but maintained enough travel it doesn't bottom out. Excellent spring set, especially if you enjoy triple digit driving. Add the bumper kit when installing lowering springs and new panhard bar to keep the rear in alignment.

      08 GT500 Lowering

I used these spring on my stock struts and shocks and did they make a diffrence, since I lowered the car it looks even more stunning than before, but you will notice a rougher ride quality (as expected) The install was very easy, and all i needed was a impact gun and a spring compression kit that I got for 20 bucks at harbor freight. The only thing that I needed to do was get new strut mounts, not that the stock ones didn't work on my car, but it made a very annoying clunking sound, so I purchased the Ford Racing strut mounts and that completely fixed my issue, It is worth lowering it the 1.25 all around, I could have went a little lower, but I personally LOVE the look, and its a GREAT bang for your buck!
