    Review & Install Video

Hey I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and I’m taking a closer look at a new product from Raxiom, I have with me their smoked and chrome HID projector headlights, equipped with the CCFL halo accents, for all 2013 and newer Mustangs. Raxiom’s whole philosophy is that lights just aren’t for seeing but also for being seen, so with that in mind they produce a wide variety of unique and stylish aftermarket lighting for your Mustang. Speaking of being seen, if you want to see the rest of Raxiom’s very cool lineup, just go ahead and subscribe to our YouTube channel, all you need to do is simply click the link below or up in the corner, this way you can keep tabs on the rest of Raxiom’s products as well as other product overviews. So even though the 2014 headlights are pretty badass in stock form, they just aren’t radical enough for some Mustang owners out there. Enter Raxiom and their very unique CCFL Halo projectors, available in either smoked, or chrome. Styling wise, the two options will offer their own unique touch, for instance the smoked option uses a black housing to give you a dark sinister look on the front end, that is always a very popular choice here on the site. On the other hand the chrome housing may be for someone who’s looking to retain a more OE look, but with the benefits of those cool halos and some other features. And if you’re not already on the site, just go ahead and click the link below to head back to the product page, where you can see both sets of headlights installed on actual customer rides. While you’re here you can actually learn a little more about the lights themselves, in addition to reading some customer reviews who have these lights installed on their Mustangs. Getting back to some of the other features Raxiom has included, for starters they have included these bright white LEDs here that illuminate along with the CCFL halos, in place of those stock LED bars on the factory headlights. Raxiom has still used the factory style HID lens here, so you can still expect that bright focused beam of light just like you would with the factory headlights. One of the nicest things about these headlights is that they utilize all the factory HID wiring and lighting including the stock G3S bulbs and ballasts, which do have a place right here on the new headlight housings, you simply swap everything over and you’re good to go. Because the install itself it is pretty straightforward, it should only take you about an hour from start to finish, of course you will need to drop the front bumper down slightly just to gain access to all the bolts, but everything else is completely plug and play. Of course if you should get a little jammed up you can always get in touch with one of our Mustang experts, give them a buzz at 1-855-422-7439, or shoot them an email at support@AmericanMuscle.com. So if you’re looking to change up the attitude of that new Mustang using some CCFL halo accents, then be sure to check out one of these smoked or chrome headlight options from Raxiom, available right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

Intimidating Styling. Transform the look of your 2013-2014 Mustang's front end by installing a set of Raxiom Smoked Projector Headlights with Halo for Factory HID. These Projector Style Headlights have an aggressive design that works well with the lines of your S197 Mustang to produce a more intimidating appearance. These Lights not only look great, but will also help to enhance visibility when compared to stock.

Superior Lighting Performance. Raxiom designed these Headlights with projector lenses that work in conjunction with your stock D3S HID bulbs to light up the road ahead with a bright focused beam of light that will improve your nighttime visibility. The integrated CCFL Halos and LED Accents will give your Mustang a more exotic appearance that will separate it from the boring herd of look-a-likes.

Durable Construction. Raxiom manufactures their Headlights to precise standards from OEM quality materials. These Projector Headlights feature durable black plastic housings with smoked lenses and modern CCFL Halo and LED accent lighting. Each light is sealed to prevent dirt and moisture from harming the state of the art electronics.

Plug and Play Installation. Raxiom designed their Projector Headlights to be a direct plug and play replacement for your Mustang's original factory housings. There is no cutting or modifications required for a clean straight forward install. However, it should be noted that you will need to lower the front fascia in order to gain access to the mounting bolts.

DOT Compliant. These Raxiom Smoked Projector Headlights with Halo for Factory HID not only improve the appearance of your Mustang, but they also meet or exceed the strict guidelines set forth by the U.S. Department of transportation (DOT) making them legal for street use under compliance# QR1200175.

Application. These Raxiom Smoked Projector Headlights with Halo for Factory HID are designed to fit the 2013 to 2014 V6 and GT model Mustangs that are equipped with factory HID lighting. Does not fit Shelby GT500 Mustangs.

Bulb Application Note. These Raxiom Smoked Projector Headlights with Halo for Factory HID retain the factory HID lighting by reusing the stock D3S style HID bulbs.

Technical Note. Not intended for use with vehicles equipped with Daytime Running Lights or Aftermarket HID Kits.

So i know that the halos are only when you put on the parking lights. is there a way to switch it where they turn on with the parking lights. or unplug the marker lights that come on with the parking lights because i don't even use the parking lights?

        • With the Raxiom Smoked Projector Headlights - CCFL Halo, the halo and LED accents can be wired to turn on whenever you would like them to. But that will require some custom wiring on your end.

Is this plug and play for mustangs with the lights that light up when you put the emergency brake down.

        • This is not a plug and play headlight, splicing is required, however the purchase of this kit does come with two quick splice connectors for a more simple installation.

Are these projectors glass or plastic?

        • The Raxiom Smoked Projector Headlights have a plastic housing.

2 LED bars? the 2013 headlights feature 2 distinct LED bars off to the side of the headlight, I can't tell from any of these pictures-does this raxiom kit completely do away with those bars or does it simply add an awesome halo look?

        • Yes, it does delete the LED bars from the stock headlights. This set replaces those with three small led lights towards the bottom of the headlight as you can see in the stock photo. If you turn your switch to parking lights, it will illuminate the halos along with the three LEDs.

So do the halos and dots act as the new drls? And if not, How would I wire them to do so?

        • Depending on how you wire the Halos and accent lighting in, they can be used as the new DRLs. You would have to wire them into your DRL lights or parking lights. If you are not comfortable with wiring, we would recommend having a shop install these for you.

I'm loving these new lights. I went with the smoked look which is great and three led bulbs add a touch of brightness which is a little different. They look great no matter the time of day!

            Raxiom headlights

I was hesitant because the aggressive look of the factory head lights on the 2013-2014 mustangs with hid After countless hours looking for headlights and checking scrap yards for oem I pulled the trigger and WOW these lights are awesome and definitely recommend......

            Great set of lights.

This really make your mustang stand out against others, really proud of how the halls appear. Only complaint is the use of factory globe headlight bulb holders that don’t get a nice clean beam of light.

            Awesome! but....

These headlights look absolutely amazing, and make my car look more aggressive. The fit and install was simple and everything went smoothy. The only problem I have right now is visibility. It drastically decreased and I feel that the pattern of the beam is a little odd, even after adjusting them.

            Agressive!

These headlights look even better than they do in the pictures. I have a 2014 race red mustang with black stripes, and these really make the front end look incredible. They work great, although be prepared for slightly reduced lighting.

            Not so good

Purchased a pair of the Raxiom Smoked Projector Headlights - CCFL Halo for my 2017 Mustang GT. During installation I noticed very poor construction material, the very thin tin metal that holds the HID lamp broke and I had to make my own replacement (or wait a week to get new headlight from AM and then re-install front bumper cover and start over). thin metal purchased at hardware store. The Halo's uses CCFL Technology ( Fluorescent lighting), very old lighting technology and they do not show up very well during daytime driving. The tinting on the fixture must be to dense, this significantly reduces night time visibility even with High Intensity Discharge (HID) lamps installed (HID's are the brightest head lights available)

This upgrade has turned heads. It gives it a menacing look about it. I catch people doing a double take or just outright staring. One of my best upgrades. I also had the smoked halo fog lights also.

These headlights are the best ones

Easy to install approximately about an hour or less if you know what you are doing. The only problem is that obviously since they are not the original ones, they do not light up that well compare to the stock ones. You have to use the high beams to see the roads more clear

I tried the tint over the factory lights and it was okay, but it was no comparison to the Raxiom lights. They look great! I am very pleased so far, I just hope they hold up well. The lights are easy to install after you remove front cover, but that part does take some time.
