Reduces Engine Sludge. A JLT V3 Oil Separator is a must have upgrade for all GT500 owners that want to prevent the formation of engine sludge in order to maintain peak power and performance. An Oil Separator, sometimes known as a catch can, will stop engine sludge from hampering the performance of your supercharged Shelby GT500. Crankcase exhaust gases (better known as blow-by) is an oily vapor that re-enters through your engines PCV system and will gradually coat the inside of your supercharger and intake manifold. Overtime this oily residue can thicken and become engine sludge, robbing you of power.

Version 3.0. JLT improved on the designed of their old Oil Separator with the introduction of their new and improved Version 3.0. The first big change you will notice is that the Version 3.0 Separator has a larger 3 ounce capacity, almost double their previous model. Another important difference is the filter media. Older JLT Separators used a Ford Motorcraft pre-filter, but now JLT uses a 1/2" thick 1/16th" aluminum honeycomb filter with a mesh stainless steel screen to trap even more fine oil vapors than before to prevent them from gumming up your engine.

Superior Quality. This JLT Performance Oil Separator is proudly manufactured right here in the USA. It's CNC-machined from a solid block of billet aluminum for superior strength. Designed with a rubber O-ring, this Separator will maintain a tight leak-free seal. The base features a knurled texture, so that it can easily be gripped for removal during routine oil changes. JLT then completes their Catch Can in a durable black anodized finish for aggressive good looks and long lasting corrosion resistance.

Easy Installation. JLT Performance engineered their Oil Separator to be installed in under 10 minutes with just basic hand tools. This kit comes complete with stock-style quick-disconnect fittings that allow for an easy plug-and-play installation. All the necessary parts are included, with no cutting or extra modifications required.

Application. This JLT Performance V3 Black Driver Side Oil Separator is designed for use on 2007-2014 Shelby GT500 models.

Technical Note. This JLT Oil Separator is not CARB certified, therefore it is not legal for use in California or other states adopting California emission standards. It is intended for off-road use only.

do I require both sides to work as it should ?

    • Thank you for your question! You can essentially go with either the driver side or passenger side oil separator. One alone will work just fine, but having both will definitely reduce blow-by and engine sludge much more when compared to having just one oil separator.

Do I need an oil separator on my Roush 427R Mustang? If so, since mine is supercharged would I put the GT500 separator on mine or would the GT one work?

    • An oil separator is not required, however, it is highly recommended. The difference in the separators are the fittings and length of the hose, but other than that, they are essentially the same. Theoretically, they should use the separators for the GT, however, a universal unit may fit more appropriately.

hi does this separator reduce crankcase pressure?

    • Hello! The JLT V3.0 Black Oil Separator does not lower crankcase pressure, it filters out the oil that can build up as crankcase pressure vents back through your intake track

Billet Gravity Catching Blowby Oil Reservoir

I’m a design engineer and am picky by the nature of my Job. I must say, I was impressed. This is not a new idea- but a Well proven concept- nonetheless. It came packaged well and included An Aluminum Bracket (Logo laser cut into the upper portion. Bolts included with Factory OEM style Connectors. Hard Black Anodized finish, CNC machined and grained 6061 Aluminum, housing has a threaded lid with a Static O-ring for a positive Seal to access re-usable element. Prevents Vslve Cover outlets from allowing Oil from the top end to enter the Throttle Body. It’s worth every Penny, be certain to purchase both the Driver and Passenger sides, you don’t need have an older Motor go have Oil in high quantities end up in this area, especially with 4 Valve Heads, and Forced Induction- this should have been a Stock part. You wouldn’t know they were present if you didn’t know to look for them, I despise Chrome, these blend in nicely. Would certainly recommend this part to Friends, especially those with a Supercharger, Blower.

      Slick little catch can

I use both driver and passenger side cans. I like knowing that oil Isn’t getting into my air intake, and sludging up my supercharger gears. Passenger side is a 5 second install, driver side took maybe 10 mins and a few scratches on my hand.

Great, but I'm not sure if I need it or not!

I have both the passenger and driver side separators on the car. I have oil in the passenger one, but the driver side is bone dry! That's a good thing I guess. Definitely worth the money for the reassurance alone. Super easy install, takes 10 minutes and philips head screw driver.

Fit perfect, and looks good in the bay

Definitely more function than anything, but the Driver's side piece looks pretty good sitting there. When I had my blower off, the inside was COVERED in oil, so I got this to try to circumvent some of those problems down the road.

Operates good, but tight fit and bad screws

The length of the tubes are a bit too long for the stock GT500 intake which makes installing it on the bracket a pain. The Phillips screws that are supplied are garbage, they strip SUPER easy, would suggest replacing with higher quality screws. Beyond that it operates just like an oil separator should.

      Oil Separators

Great product and shipping is always prompt. These are part of the little things so many over look when upgrading their ride. Oil Separators are designed to keep oil from the internal gaskets that are not designed for contact with petroleum. These were installed on a 2007 Shelby with KenneBell SC. The bracket bolt shipped with the kit was the wrong size but the existing bolt works fine.

So far empty, but better safe than sorry...

I've heard mixed reviews on oil separators but I installed one one each side regardless since I'm in a boosted situation. After a few thousand miles, the driver's side can is still empty but I dumped about half a cup out of the passenger side can. It's a little disturbing to know that oil has been sludging up my engine for so long. These should be stock options. Installation - it took me longer to get dressed and go out in the garage than the actual install. Super easy!! I put 4 Stars on the "Performance Gain" due to the long term benefits of removing the blow-back oil.

JLT is top of the line

JLT is the best of the best when it comes to mustang modifications. The craftsmanship and quality really shows. And it's great knowing the catch can will be trapping unwanted oil from going back through the intake and gunking it up.
