Improves Handling Performance. Upgrade the suspension of your S197 Mustang with Koni Sport Shocks and Struts for improved handling and performance. Koni's Sport Yellow series top-of-line performance shocks and struts are designed to be direct fit replacements for your factory units and are ideal for use with lowering springs and performance sway bars.

Adjustable. The adjustable option of the Koni Sport shocks and struts allows you to adjust compression and rebound with just a twist of a knob. Turn the knob clockwise and soften the dampening, counter clockwise stiffens the dampening.

Quality Construction. Koni Sport Series shocks and struts feature a gas pressurized twin-tube design with a larger-diameter piston for optimum street performance. These shocks and struts are completed in a classic yellow finish with the world-famous KONI logo.

Application. This Koni Sport Adjustable Shock and Strut Kit is specifically designed to fit the 2005 to 2010 Ford Mustangs, including the V6, GT, Bullitt and Shelby GT500 models. Sold as a set of four.

    Ask a Question

What aftermarket strut mount will work/do you recommend with the Koni struts? Have an 05 Saleen. Thanks?

    Ammotroop

    • The KONI Sport Adjustable Shock and Strut Kit can be used with any strut mounts for the 2005-2010 Mustangs. If you are in need of additional adjustment for proper alignment, we would recommend caster camber plates like the Maximum Motorsports Caster Camber Plates, however if you are just looking for a new strut mount, the Ford Performance GT500 Style Strut Mount Upgrade is very similar to the OEM strut mounts, but will provide better handling through the use of a stiffer rubber portion.

Hi, I have a '14 mustang gt with SR lowering springs. Will this kit work with my springs? I do have a set of gt500 strut mounts just laying around not being used.

    CosmeQ

    • Hello! The KONI Sport Adjustable Shock & Strut Kit will work just fine with your springs. However, GT500 Strut Mounts require 2005-2010 Ford Racing lowering springs and struts/shocks for proper installation

Will these dampers work with a 2011+ Mustang if using GT500 mounts or Caster/Camber plates? I really like the Koni adjustable dampers that I have used in the past and am looking for options for lowering our 2014 Mustang GT. Thanks!

    Khaine

    • Yes you can use the GT500 strut mounts with these shocks and struts and it will work on your 2014 GT.

      Gt500 upgrade

Lowered car previously and goal was to improved ride. Ride slightly improved however the handling is much improved. In light of the much improved handling I can now overlook the stiff ride

Race tight and comfortable too! Your choice..

I was considering Bilstein or Koni Sport. I didn’t plan on adjusting the suspension so I wanted the durability of the Bilsteins. The more reviews I read, the more I liked the features and benefits of the Koni Sport Yellows. I don’t think they received one negative review. I installed the shocks, struts, BMR adj track bar, and Z36 pads and rotors all in one weekend. The car is incredible. I went for a test drive and the fronts were set perfect. I jumped out in a parking lot and took a half a turn to the firm side on the rear and it’s set perfect so far. This set is perfect for my 2008 GTCS Convertible Saleen Supercharged Mustang.

      Ajustable

Good thing about the shocks and struts is they are adjustable. They ride well and I have only put in the rear and I already can tell the difference. The only issue I had was the shipping. My shipment came in a box that looked like it tumbled down Mount Everest.

Replaced the Racecraft N2 shocks on my wife's Saleen Mustang. She enjoys the softer ride since she commutes 90 miles a day. Straight forward install. Took me about 3 hours including getting the car up on jack stands and using pneumatic tools. You need a spring compressed for this job. I rented one from the local parts store.

THE best mod for your Mustang

I believe that upgrading your suspension is the single most important and noticeable modification you can do. This is the third car in which I've swapped Koni struts and shocks, and yet again the improvement in ride quality is outstanding. I installed these myself along with Steeda Ultralite springs, adjustable panhard bar, and Ford Racing bump stops and GT500 strut mounts. Installation was a breeze since I put together the front strut assemblies without a spring compressor and simply swapped them with the stock struts. Rear shock installation was a breeze as well. As far as ride quality, I've only tried the max soft setting but the car's behavior over bumps and rough roads has drastically improved, No more prolonged bouncing - it's one and done. My wife noticed the difference right away and now finds the ride quality quite enjoyable. Do yourself and your passengers a favor and upgrade to Koni's - they're worth every penny.

      4th Set of Struts/ Shocks

This is a review with the Konis mounted on my 2012 GT with Vorshlag Caster Camber plates, Whiteline Sways, Forgestar 18x11s all the way around the and weight of a Whipple supercharger over the nose. This is my winter, off-season, suspension as I run coilovers for track days during the normal season. I matched the Konis with H and R Super Sport springs. With this set up the drop is identical to my coilover suspension (2" all the way around). It is important to note that I have tried 3 other sets of conventional shock/struts (Stock, Ford Racing and Bilsteins). With the exception of my very expensive coilover set-up I find the Konis to be superior to any other shock/struts I have experienced on this car. While the Konis are adjustable in rebound only the effects to ride and handling are very noticeable. My daily setting are 1 full turn toward hard up front and 1/2 turn toward hard in the back. All adjustments are made at the top of the shock or strut with a supplied plastic knob. With these springs and the above settings this delivers a slightly firm but very "daily driver" friendly ride while still offering good turn in and road holding. For long highway trips 1/2 turn in front and full soft in back offers a very plush ride similar to my wife's SUV but you pay for it in handling. If you are looking for the benefit of a lower ride height, and a slightly more aggressive spring rate you need a better set of dampers to control both compression and rebound. These Konis do just that can be easily adjusted for conditions. It is my opinion that this set up is your best option for street and occasional track use.

Wanted to put adjustable struts and shocks on my 2005. KYB does not even make an AGX for the Mustang!.I did not want to change the ride height, so coilovers were irrelevant ....Konis fit and look great, with better ride and less body roll.

      Unhappy Mustang owner

The ride is nice, but the mounts are thump. Every time you ride over a bump in the road the mounts make a thump noise. One mount would not torque. After the trip I will call American Muscle to find out what can be done. Afterwards i will be better to rate. Thank you.

      Adjustable koni's

I installed Roush Springs on with my stock struts and shocks. The ride quality was horrible. After having these adjustable Koni's installed by a shop with the new GT500 strut mounts, my car handles amazingly! I do have good rubber 275/35/18 front 295/35/18 rear. With the struts turned all the way to the softest setting the ride is very comfortable and still handles like it's on rails!!!

      Outstanding

The things are fantastic. Almost like riding in a Cadillac in my lowered GTCS:) but they also handle like a dream. Acceleration is better because my car isnt squating anymore when i take off. All the energy is going forward instead of the front end going up in the air. I also got the GT500 Strut mounts and the softer Jounce bumbers.

      Koni adjustables with stock springs

I was a bit nervous about using lowering springs with my new Koni adjustable struts and shocks. I wanted to improved road manners without sacrificing ride comfort. I can get lowering springs later. The ride height looks high, but the aggressive performance really makes up for it. I don't see the wheel gap when I'm driving, but I certainly can feel the difference!

Makes a huge difference in the ride. No rebound, which on a lowered car is what I wanted. Would highly recommend
