Installation Time: Afternoon
August 26, 2013
I purchased this radiator as a complement to some other items that I was replacing on my 2004 Mustang GT (5-speed).
I haven't had much opportunity to wring it out yet, but from what I've seen thus far, it's at least on par with the (much more expensive) Fluidyne unit.
The Good: Looks sharp, everything needed to install is in the box, and the stabilizer system makes a LOT of sense.
The Bad: When refilling/burping the system, no-where does it say how MUCH bigger this radiator is. Answer: figure on buying 3 gallons of coolant, and you'll have about a third of a gallon left.
The Ugly: Burrs on the radiator hose nipples. I knocked them off with a file, but be careful, as you're introducing aluminum shavings into the area. Also, the hardware kit is on the BOTTOM of the box, under the fitted foam insert.
Overall, I like this unit. We'll see how it performs next time I'm at the track. Installation was fairly straightforward (once I found the hardware). I did the radiator as part of a larger upgrade/update package, so I'm not going to say that gains were solely because of the radiator, but the car certainly seems to like it. If it lasts half as long as the OEM radiator, I'll be satisfied.
