Hey I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, here with a way to keep your ride cool all while making a dramatic visual improvement under the hood as well, I’m talking about these Mishimoto aluminum radiators for your 94-04 Mustang. Mishimoto has become one of the industry leaders in producing quality performance radiators for just about any vehicle you can think of, from bone stock daily drivers to hardcore professional race cars. These direct replacements are a great solution to an old, damaged, or leaking factory rad, or for a heavily modded or forced induction car, where the cooling system just can’t keep up with the increased cooling needs. The Mishimoto will help keep your street or strip Mustang much cooler by using this 2 row core, which is going to allow for a 25% increase in cooling capacity next to your stock radiator. Every Mishimoto radiator is constructed using durable lightweight aluminum, features leak proof fittings, and are all hand welded to ensure top notch quality and fitment. On top of all that, every Mishimoto radiator is backed by a no questions asked, limited lifetime warranty. A big feature with the Mishimoto is their patent pending floating bracket mounting system, that eliminates a major flaw in the factory mount design. Because of the Mustangs torque the front of the car tends to flex under load, which can sometimes lead to a damaged radiator. The floating brackets attach to the side of the radiator, using these rubber grommets to absorb any movement, in addition Mishimoto has added breaks to the top and bottom header plates, that allow the radiator to flex without being damaged. Getting this installed may be slightly more difficult than installing say, a cold air intake for instance, but honestly it’s not that bad. Think of it as a giant oil change. Before getting started you will need something on hand to hold all that fluid, in this case we recommend having at least a 15 quart drain pan on hand, before you start draining your fluids. Once you get all the fluids drained, remove the hoses from the stock radiator, unbolt it, and remove it from the engine bay. Reinstall the new Mishimoto in reverse order, reattach the hoses and fill it with a 50/50 mix of coolant and water. Doing all this should take you no more than 2 hours. Any gearhead knows that heat is one of the worse enemies of performance, it can hurt power, damage your fuel mileage and worse of all damage your motor. So if you want to help your Mustang keep its cool whether it’s on the street or the track, then you’ll definitely want to check out one of these Mishimoto performance aluminum radiators, right here at AmericanMuscle.com

Keep Cool. Whether running your Mustang hard at the track, the strip, or on the street, it's important to keep temps down to keep power levels up and protect your engine. If you're having trouble keeping things cool, a Mishimoto Mustang radiator has up to 25% more cooling capacity than your OEM radiator making it a must-have mod.

Floating Bracket Stabilizer System. High torque engines and body flex can cause radiator end tanks to crack or separate from the core, in order to eliminate this issue Mishimoto has engineered a patent-pending floating bracket stabilizer system that allows their radiators to "float" freely with out binding or cracking under stress.

Lightweight Aluminum. Mishimoto Radiators are crafted of lightweight high-quality aluminum. Each radiator is hand-welded to which ensure a perfect fit and great underhood appearance.

Leak-Proof Design. Other aftermarket radiators have a design problem that causes leakage from the outlet to the overflow reservoir. Unlike other manufacturer, Mishimoto uses specially designed brass fittings to ensure leak-free performance. And all of their radiators are pressure tested twice before leaving the factory so you can install your new radiator with confidence.

Application. This Mishimoto Mustang Radiator is designed for the 1997 to 2004 Mustang GT, Mach 1, Bullitt and the 1997 to 2001 SVT Cobra models. Fits manual transmissions only.

  • This Mishimoto Performance Aluminum Radiator can be used with the stock radiator hoses, however, since the core is thicker you may find that your original hose may need to be slightly trimmed.

    Radiator Upgrade

I purchased this radiator as a complement to some other items that I was replacing on my 2004 Mustang GT (5-speed). I haven't had much opportunity to wring it out yet, but from what I've seen thus far, it's at least on par with the (much more expensive) Fluidyne unit. The Good: Looks sharp, everything needed to install is in the box, and the stabilizer system makes a LOT of sense. The Bad: When refilling/burping the system, no-where does it say how MUCH bigger this radiator is. Answer: figure on buying 3 gallons of coolant, and you'll have about a third of a gallon left. The Ugly: Burrs on the radiator hose nipples. I knocked them off with a file, but be careful, as you're introducing aluminum shavings into the area. Also, the hardware kit is on the BOTTOM of the box, under the fitted foam insert. Overall, I like this unit. We'll see how it performs next time I'm at the track. Installation was fairly straightforward (once I found the hardware). I did the radiator as part of a larger upgrade/update package, so I'm not going to say that gains were solely because of the radiator, but the car certainly seems to like it. If it lasts half as long as the OEM radiator, I'll be satisfied.

    great bang for your buck

I use my 99gt for PCA DE events. had overheating issues with the stock radiator. After replacing with the Mishimoto I never had another issue. 30 minutes at a time full throttle near redline and never got hot. Was easy to install, only an hour or two and looks good too

    Great Mod

The original radiator cracked due to an inherit flaw in their design so replacing it with a plastic/aluminum radiator would be insane. So, I searched near and far for all aluminum radiators for my '99 GT (mostly stock). What I found was mishimoto price to quality couldn't be beat. Once it was installed which was the easiest radiator I have ever installed. This coupled with a 10 degree cooler thermostat and wow. I can notice a big difference on how well the car stays cooler in this South Texas heat. The construction and quality is well made. Very pleased overall and recommend it to all mustang owners as a first must have modification needed before anything else is done. Great packaging ensured pristine condition upon arrival.

    Great radiator

Radiator fit like a glove. Only issue I had was making sure I had the right radiator since I have a 1996 cobra with the tsb radiator upgrade kit installed I had to contact Mishimoto to confirm that the 97 radiator was the correct fitment. Once I confirmed and ordered the part, the radiator was installed with no issues. I'm very pleased with the performance and the look.

    Really Nice Radiator

Really easy to install. Just follow the instructions step by step and don't forget to install the rubber grommets correctly or the unit won't fit. Pretty easy install (removal of stock radiator is a pain). But works great. Fan hardly ever comes on. Sweet upgrade!

    Insurance on my ride

The radiator went in great with a little adjustment to the AC lines(bend them 1/2 inch by hand). It's pretty well hidden so it doesn't offer much visual appeal however I couldn't see the sense in adding serious horsepower without making sure it runs cool first. With that done and a moroso expansion tank it's time crank up the power

Nice quality with a few challenges to install

The radiator was well packaged for shipping ensuring it wouldn't get damaged. Unfortunately, Mishimoto doesn't include any directions with it, so you'll have to look it up online to verify installing the stabilizer bars. Install would have been fairly quick and easy, but the increased thickness and the addition of the bolts on the side for the stabilizer present a couple of challenges. Plan on having to bend the A/C lines a decent amount. I also had to remove the battery and battery tray along with the passenger side stabilizer bar to get it in. Once it's in though it fits like a glove. So far I've seen a drop in temps even in the Texas summer heat idling with the A/C on.

    It's COOOOL

Well constructed, does the job. Nothing wrong with my stock radiator, just felt paranoid running a stock radiator especially during the California summer. Looks cool under the hood. Had it for almost 4 months and still runs good. Warranty for life no questions asked! Probably one of the reasons' why I chose that over the SVE. Took my time and took about 2 hours.

Nice idea, need to add a few more pieces

The overall build of the radiator appears to be good quality. Getting it in isn't that difficult. However, I would think that they would include a fix for the lines coming out of the ABS module. It looks like it would need some washers on one side to move the line positions.

Excellent quality. Installed it in my 03 cobra

Very very good quality. A must for any mustang pushing some serious ponies. Keeps my cobra running cool. Note it will fit 03-04 cobras with a very simple bracket mod on passenger side. (See pics) Used a 1inch brass spacer cut 3/8 off use for lower mount. The left over 5/8 for upper mount. This allows the bracket to straddle the a.c. lines. Then just slip in longer bolts. You will have to Install the bracket after you Install the radiator, but very simple installation. It is such a nice radiator it would be a shame for the cobra guys to pass it up. Just wish it came with a mishimoto sticker to put on my car!!

I posted pics also so check those out it will help you with understanding the bracket mods needed to allow the radiator to fit 03-04 cobras. MUCH bigger and really nice looking radiator. this is a no brainer for any mustang pushing the hp envelope. easy install about 6 hours for 03/04 cobra owners needing to modify brackets. much less for all the plug n play mustang owners. no instructions were included but very straight forward installation and easy. the only thing missing - is a big MISHIMOTO sticker to put on my car!! :-)

Runs cooler, A/C lines get in the way

97 Cobra. Great radiator, had it for a day and she seems to run well (don't forget to burp the air out of the whole cooling system). The only downside is that the A/C lines are in the way, and you need to remove the battery and tray. I also wasn't able to get the top bolt of the radiator support bracket in (because of the A/C lines). Hopefully it'll last, but the brackets seem to be intact. I plan on tweaking the A/C lines in the near future so I can properly tighten the bolt.
